Northcoast Sports Service Plays:

4* Rutgers L
4* Syracuse L
3* Nebraska L
3* Central Michigan L
3* Texas tech W

-12.4 units
North Coast Marquees:

A&M +16 W
E. Michigan +15 L
Illinois over 59 L
Northcoast totals:

4* under San Diego st / ucla W
3* under army / Michigan W
3* under western Michigan / Michigan st L
3* under Arkansas / ole miss W

Overall sides went 1-4 and lost 12.4 units

Totals went 3-1 and picked up 6.7 units.

Late Phones overall 4-5 and MINUS 5.7 Units

Lots of the losers were horrible picks and not even close. and three of the four winners just got by.

Comps also sucked and I have them at 2-5.

A pretty poor day overall, but don't worry Todd will be back tomorrow with your Sunday "Dinner Specials" and will allude to a few things which won out the

hodgepodge of picks available like The Early Bird.

As usual there will be no remorse and no kind of compensation for Sunday or next week because as anyone who has been around knows,

Phil Steele is one tight/cheap SOB when it comes to stuff like this.

Hope have everyone had a good day overall no matter what you did with the NC picks, from other sources and/or on your own.

Back this morning.

Quick take from yesterday.

First impressions are very important not only with sports services but in life in general.

In the case of NC yesterday, while it is true that any service can have a 4-5 day and it is no big deal, Phil Steele/NC did not exactly make

a very good impression(that is being kind) for any newcomer looking for a service with the magnitude of the losses in their

two top plays in the Rutgers and Syracuse and Central Michigan games and the just made it close covers in three of the four games they did win.

Imo they will need at least a 2-1 day today hopefully 3-0 day to get people to at least partially forget yesterday.

Back later after the comp. line message.

Well comp. message is out-here you go.

To sum it up, re: yesterday, I would say it was Phil Steele/NC honest.

What that means is that what they say is honest in that what Todd DOES say is truthful but not so honest in what he DOESN'T say- the whole point is to

try to limit the damage by saying only enough so that they can't be called liars when they lose.

For example Todd tells us that the sides had a "rough day" going 1-4 but not alluding to how God awful three of the plays were.

There is also no mention of how the comps. did, which went 2-5, and which they always brag about when they win.

Also speaking of the comps. if you are not already aware, the glorified records we are told about each day when each comp. is given out is very

deceptive and misleading in that Phil/NC chooses SEPARATE time frames, whether it be one year or 15 or even more years leading up to the present to

make their record sound good.

For me the only fair way to give out the records is to start ALL of them at EXACTLY the same point in time.

I mean anyone can cherry pick time frames in order to make oneself look good when in fact in this case on the other hand, if one time frame

for all the comps was used, their record would not be as rosy as it seems to be.

Pricing as usual is way too high relative to the market and even more so after yesterday's lousy day.

$75 for all three plays or $50 for the top play.

Also no mention of any compensation for those who bought the side plays only and who got clobbered.

That's it-THE PRO PLAY OF THE WEEK IS TAMPA BAY + 1.

I owe everyone an apology and hope no one got hurt as Pro Comp. Play of the Week was San Francisco + 1 and not Tampa Bay as previously stated.

I have no excuse-I got play while driving my car and simply posted the wrong team in this game.

NC goes 2-1 with Late Phone and picks up a couple of units, but loses its top play by a wide margin, which doesn't help their cause in view of the

fact that a number of their losers yesterday including some big ones went up in flames in similar fashion.

Back tomorrow AM.

Early thoughts:

After this week's unimpressive week(that is being kind), Phil Steele and the rest of the marketing crew have a difficult decision to make with the

famed SCRIPTED September Five Star yet to be released.

The obvious question is whether to release it this weekend along with the usual bullshit which accompanies it, ie "the deepest card of the season," or

do they wait until the weekend after or perhaps the final Saturday of the season.

The obvious reason is that if they release it next weekend, there is a good chance that lots of folks will feel that they are releasing it ONLY to take the

focus away from the overall crappy start to the season, which would include me.

If they are dumb enough to release both the College Five Star and the TOM next weekend, it will be just further indication that they

are struggling big time with their revenue streams and are in panic mode.

Imo the chances are about 50/50 that the September Five Star will be this coming weekend.

If they don't release the September Five Star next weekend, imo they will do something else to draw attention.

As I have stated before, for reasons cited, a poor start for the season, which is exactly what has occurred so far, hurts NC in that

lots of folks remember the last three crappy seasons and are presently coming away with the impression, "same Phil Steele/NC-nothing has changed."

Back with The Early Bird and more commentary later.

Comp. line message is out, and not much too report.

Todd is honest with weekly recap.

Pricing for tonight is same as last Monday for those who don't have it included in package- $30 for Monday Night Magic with $40 credit back if it loses

or $20 with no guarantee and $12 for Marquee Total.

The right thing to do if they had any integrity or confidence in their play would be $20 for Magic Play and $20 back IN CASH if it loses, period-none of this outrageous

$30 shit with $40 back in CREDIT ONLY if it loses.

No mention of anything else for the coming week-probably tomorrow.

THE EARLY BIRD PLAY IS ARMY - 16.

One other thing I forgot to mention earlier.

Not surprisingly Phil Steele/ have figured out a way to give back the $40 in credit for $30 paid if its guarantee(s) loses/lose,

How? easy-Just jack up the prices of the picks for NCand the NC Community Cappers, which offsets the guarantees.

Trust me it is no coincidence that the prices have gone up noticeably especially with the NC Community Cappers- I mean are people

really going to pay up to $50 for Mike Lee and his living and dead "friends," whose picks over time were among the worst out there both when

he was alive and now as a 15 year old corpse along with his so called "friends"????

So we don’t have to scroll thru a million post. Since your posting, anyway to have a weekly recap?

i know in a prior tracking forum guys would track his

Early birds Play of week
uD POW
PP 4* POW
ecknomy POW
nFL total pOW
Big dog POw
big 12 POW
cfb POw
cfb total POw
etc

plus his LTP
5* thru 2*. Splitting up both CFB and pro

i mean to be fair. If your gonna go thru all the energy to talk smack about his stupid advertising, at least track everything and keep recap... I’m sure I’m speaking for a lot of guys here. We could care a less about a Steele’s Marketing shenanigans ... we are not dropping $300+ a week on his LTP shitting picks. I only buy his Marquee package bc he has historically done better with these then his 4* at times. And I use a betting system to assure I win these. ... anyway hope you do this and thx for all your effort

I am a little confused here.

Usually Marquees don't have a star rating as do the Late Phones.

Usually the side on Monday night carries the star rating, and the total the Marquee rating.

Can someone clear up tonight as to what is the star rated play a what is the Marquee tonight, and whether the 2* attached means it is a double Marquee as historically

speaking, there have been single, double and triple Marquee ratings.

I need to know this as in my weekly tallies I do only the actual star rated plays.

I checked the Sports Monitor and they say the star rated play (Houston) is two star rated, whereas the total(Under Oakland) has been designated

as the Marquee-unless someone disputes that, that is what I an going to go with when I do my weekly and cumulative recaps tomorrow.

We should know shortly whether this is the week that the September 5* will be released.

Also the normal Tuesday recap for the Late Phones week ending on Monday will follow.

If anyone wants to recap the comps weekly cumulatively or one of NC's other zillion other types of plays, be my guest-I am sticking to the actual star rated

plays which I consider to be the most important and indicative as to how the service is doing.

ps regarding the previous post, even though Todd gives out the records of the comp. line picks each day, I am not going to dignify them by stating them because

1) they are given using either very selective time frames for the particular season at hand or 2) worse using only selective time frames over a period of years leading

up to the present which make the comp. record seem better than they really are.

The whole point of the thread is and has always been to compare my documentation of their records using the Star Rated Late Phone Selections with how

they present their Late Phone Records and/or the spin they put on them, as well as all of the coverups using other types of picks which do well over short

term-what this amounts to is total deception on the Part of Phil Steele/NC.

Today's comp. message and is always the case, first the summary of ext. 9 and 3 and then the weekly and cumulative recaps.

On ext. 9 if you can believe it we are told that the $109 of Power Sweep which was just recently reduced to $99 before going back up to $109,

is going up once again soon (I assume to $119 but it hasn't been stated yet).

Great idea-raise the price of PS to $119 with fewer issues remaining than at beginning of the season when you can't sell it at $99 or $109. lol

The we get the usual PowerPlays bullshit-I won't bore you with the details as it is the lying crap we hear every Tuesday.

Anyways that's it(except for bragging about the 2-0 last night, and it turns out the Star rated play was the total rather than the side.

POWER PLAY COMP OF THE WEEK is a 4* BALL STATE + 2 1/2.

Ext. 3- We are told that the big play for coming week will be NOT the SCRIPTED September Five Side but rather the TOM, which makes sense as the totals

are the only thing which have been doing well.

This week unlike last Tuesday we are given the Late Phone Packages rather than the Executive Service one.

I suspect the reason for this is that they couldn't find a sucker who would shell out $399 for everything NC puts out.

What is ironic and telling about this is that I added up piecemeal everything that NC put out including the Economy Club, Big Dog Club, along with all of

the Late Phones, Marquees, etc., and it turns out that if one had purchased all of these separately, he would have actually saved about $100 than if

he had bought the $399 Package-not surprising at all in view of the incompetence and deceit which envelopes Phil Steele and NC.

Anyways the pricing for the Late Phones for NON PS subscribers(that's all I care about-I am no longer going to mention price for PS subscribers for 1-3

years) is $225-this includes all of Saturday Late Phone Sides and Totals, all of the NFL Plays on Sunday and Marquee on Monday night).

Anyways THE UNDERDOG PLAY OF THE WEEK IS AIR FORCE + 3 1/2.

Now to the Recaps:

Week Two:

College (sides and totals):4-5 with 5.7 units LOST

Pros-3-1 with 4.15 units GAINED

Overall 1.55 units were LOST or $155 at $100 a unit counting juice.

Cost of the service for a non PS subscriber was $220($125 for Saturday sides and totals, $75 for NFL and $20 for Monday night Star Rated play-in units 2.2).

Thus adding in the cost figure, it can be seen that 3.75 units or $375 was LOST in Week Two.

Cumulative:

College 8-10 6.1 units LOST

Pros-3-1 with 4.15 units GAINED

Adding these two numbers, it is seen that so far 1.95 units have been lost or $195 at $100 a unit.

Factoring the total of service costs so far of $345, it can be seen that the Late Phones are MINUS $540.

Real fast today as nothing new.

Ext. 3 remains unchanged until tomorrow.

On ext. 9 all we get is a pitch for the Economy Club.

THE #2 ECONOMY CLUB PLAY OF THE WEEK IS ALABAMA - 25.
