It was a great day for NC.

I have them at 9-1 with plays(Fla Int, which is a small college doesn't count and was right around the number in any event) and pick up 20.05 units subject

to their confirmation tomorrow, and they also sweep the Marquees.

It is hard to believe that their only loss was a blowout LOSER on their TOM on UNDER West Virginia, and yet if I am correct, they won everything else-go figure.

Back tomorrow.

Early take:

There is not much you can say after a 9-1 day other than to ask the question as to whether this is the start of something positive which will last

or if it is a one day wonder.

Sure it would have been nice if the one loser was a game other than the TOM, but it is what it is, and I am sure there will be a lot of curiosity today

as to what heir NFL plays are today.

Back later after the comp. message and hopefully with their plays today.

The recap of their recap is quite short and simple.

Todd recaps and rightfully brags about the 9-1 day but not overly so and does admit the TOM loser.

The we are told about the pricing which is the same as stated yesterday, $75 for all three plays or $50 for the top play.

THE PRO PLAY OF THE WEEK IS KC -7.

They still have a lot to prove- one great day/weekend doesn't mean all that much as just about everyone once in a while has a day like they did yesterday.

If I recall correctly, last season fairly early in the season they had the likes of an 8-2 Saturday or weekend, but it was a one shot deal, and they went

back to their mediocre ways shortly after.

Perhaps it will be different this time around.

So far it smells like a 1-2 day with the Late Phones with the top play losing again.

I was tempted to play Pitt., but when I saw every lemming in the world on it, I backed off.

I sure hope at the very least you folks did the same and hopefully bet Seattle instead.

The comp. line message is out and it is pretty predictable.

We get the recap for the weekend, which was very good yesterday not responding.

Also not surprisingly we are told The September Five Star goes next Saturday, which iw free to all PS sunscribers.

We also get the usual nonsense of the PS subscribers having to call NC to get some special code to get the play.

In reality the only "code" needed for anyone on the planet is to know how to turn on one's PC and go to a zillion gambling sites where they can

the picks for FREE!

Surprisingly in his haste to get out the recap for last weekend and to pump the upcoming Saturday Five Star, Todd forgets to say anything about tonight's

Monday Night Magic and Marquee Plays and how to get them.

THE EARLY BIRD PLAY OF THE WEEK IS LSU -22 1/2.

One thing I should point out is that imo this is a very important and telling week for Phil Steele and NC.

I say that because they are coming off a spectacular 9-1 week with their college picks even though they lost their TOM.

One would think that with their College September Five Star on tap this weekend which all PS subscribers get for free(as well as just about

everyone else for that matter), that if anyone is going to buy their plays outside of those few who normally do, this would be the weekend to do so.

If sales don't rise a bit this weekend if I was Phil Steele, I would conclude one or more of the following:

1) People aren't impressed because they or for that matter any service happen to have just one good weekend.

2) People for lots of known reasons simply don't care for Phil Steele/NC and not going to pay money to them for picks.

3) Most people know that all of their plays including the big ones are plastered all over the internet for free meaning "If the milk is free, why buy

the cow?"

4)There are much better and more consistent services out there whose prices are far lower than those of Northcoast no matter how hard Phi/NC

try to convince otherwise with their insulting and out of touch retail/msrp prices from which they offer the alleged discounts.

I’m sure again I’m speaking for every Tom Dick and Harry in here. If we are in this thread ready this boring shit about steele and his advertising BS which we don’t care, we are here to see how his comps performed as well as a Marquees and lTP... with that said you can copy/paste into current thread each post and keep update going and at end of week do something like this...

NC Weekly Comps Recap:
B9 EB Army -16. Win
B9 4* PP Ball St +2.5. Lose
B3 UD A Forcé +3.5. Win
B9 Econ Bama -25. Lose
B9 NFL Tot: Ov 47.5 Lions/LAC Lose
B9 B10 : Purdue +2. Lose
B9 TPOW: TT ov 75 Lose by 33 pt
N3 CPOW AZ 2.5. Win
Pro POW :. KC -7 Win

B9= 2-5
B3.= 2-0
overall 2-7 comps =. Pathetic

do simular recap of LTP and marquees.

Can you you at least do something like this since you are going thru all the motions anyway please?

ACP-sorry I have stated why I track ONLY the Late Phones, basically because they have star rated and statistically speaking represent a reliable and valid sample to

draw conclusions.

By recapping counts, Marquees and all of the other zillion types of unrated shit they put out to extort money from the public and give themselves

something to brag about if it wins, I would be playing their game, which I want no part of.

If you don't care about my comments about Phi and their advertising, etc., simply pass over it and get the comp. pick at the end of each of the

extensions which is in caps.

Imo exposing Phil/NC for what they are on a regular basis(which I have done for years) is a service and important

and I believe that there are a number of folks who disagree with you about its worth.

That said, keep tallying up the comps like you did today if that floats your boat.

ps I get 4-5 above rather than 2-5 using your figures.

Hope that helps.

Beating a dead horse. You can keep "exposing" NC, but in reality they are not going anwhere because obviously people still buy their picks, service, newletters etc or they would have folded up years ago. It's a good hobby for you though. Carry on.

I disagree-the NC insider at CM stated that their staff has been decimated and their revenues have shrunk dramatically over the last number of years for

may known reasons.

I agree that people still buy their Annuals and newsletters to a SMALL extent but thats about it.

Perhaps they haven't folded up because perhaps Phil Steele is either too arrogant and/or too blind to realize that his is not the year 2000 anymore and lots

has changed, which in essence has relegated NC to just another service OR because he is using the Late Phones at least as a tax writeoff for something in his life

which is profitable.

In any case it is not a stagnant "horse" in any event as there are both new and young gamblers who don't know Phil/NC's ways.

I may not say it but my hope is that what I say here may give newbies a clue as to how the sports service industry operates.

ps For the record according to The SM, NC had a 2* on Cleveland and a Marquee on the OVER.

Ok-here we go-it is going to be a bit lengthy with recaps but comp. plays are in caps at end of each extension if that is all you want,

On ext. 9 we get the usual "Prince Spaghetti Day" Power Plays spiel and bullshit and not much else worth mentioning except for the carefully spun records and the

pump for PowerPlays and the September Five Star, which all PS subscribers get for free along with a few added Marquees.

THE POWERPLAY COMP. PLAY IS A 4 STAR ON MIAMI FLORIDA - 30 1/2(wow-what a bargain! lol).

Ext. 3 Here we again get the pump for the September Five Star with some various pricing depending on whether you are a PS/PPlays or not and how long you

are subscribed for.

The non PS subscriber(which is what matters) gets the Five Star along with the sides for Saturday(but doesn't include the dessert of the Saturday totals-Phil is too

cheap to include those), and also includes some Marquees but NOT the Monday Night two star rated play for $199(again because Phil is one cheap SOB).

If a non subscriber wants everything Phil/NC puts out except the kitchen sink including the plays which came to Phil as he was sitting

on the toilet reading and admiring PowerSweep and standing in front of his bedroom mirror admiring himself, it will cost you a "mere" $450.

That sound great-pay $450 for a zillion plays which DECREASES your chances of winning!! lol

If you want to hear more, then call the comp. line as I don't want to bore you with any more details.

ANYWAYS THE UNDERDOG COMP. OF THE WEEK IS GEORGIA STATE + 3.

Now to the recaps:

Week Three:

College (sides and totals):9-1 with 21.05 units GAINED.

Pros-2-2 with 2.15 units LOST.

Overall 18.9 units were GAINED or $1,890 at $100 a unit counting juice.

Cost of the service for a non PS subscriber was $245($150 for Saturday sides and totals, $75 for NFL and $20 for Monday night Star Rated play).

Thus adding in the cost figure, it can be seen that 16.45 units or $1645 was GAINED in Week Three.

Cumulative:

College 17-11-14.95 units GAINED.

Pros-5-3 with 2 units GAINED.

Adding these two numbers, it is seen that so far 16.95 units have been gained or $1,695 at $100 a unit.

Factoring the total of service costs so far of $590, it can be seen that the Late Phones are PLUS $1105.

For those of you who are interested in the sleazy and deceptive advertising tactics of Phil Steele/NC, this one is for you..

As you know, I concentrate on the non PS subscriber pricing when doing my record tallies.

I am going to change that for this post to show you that the PS subscriber is getting the royal screw from Steele and NC this weekend with the much

ballyhooed September which all PS subscribers allegedly get for free and which is an alleged $100 value.

Is it really free though and especially if you want the rest of the college plays for Saturday?

Well let's see-according to the PS Late Phone Package, the Five Star is given away for free.

However if you want the other college sides along with the Sunday NFL Plays and some Marquees thrown in, it cost $69.

It doesn't stop there though.

The Saturday Totals are NOT included, and I would assume will cost the PS subscriber at least an additional $50 of not $75 to get them.

Thus in essence Phil/NC is trying to convince the PS subscriber that he is getting a big discount for everything including the September Five Star,

when in fact Saturday and Sunday is still going to cost anywhere from $119 to $144, which is roughly what they would pay anyways if there was no GOM

going.

I will leave it to you today whether the hype surrounding the "free" September Five Star is really warranted or not and what you think of this type of advertising.

Early thoughts

Imo a strong opinion for the September Five Star is Wisconsin.

I say that for several reasons:

1) Phil/NC has used them before in other September Five Stars as well as in othe Games of Something.

2) The game goes at noon-again historically speaking, in many instances Phil/NC prefer an early verdict with their big plays.

3) Wisconsin is in a revenge position having been spanked by Michigan last year-revenge has also been a factor many times for NC for big game choices.

Back later.

Today's ext. 9 is essentially a repeat of the one yesterday with a pitch for the September Five Star which PS subscribers get for free(not really that free as I point out in post 137).

Ext.3 remains the same as yesterday.

THE ECONOMY #2 PLAY OF THE WEEK IS COASTAL CAROLINA - 17.

Words of advice:

If any of you out there are in a masochistic mood and want to listen to Todd first hand drone on with the messages on extensions 9, 3 and 4(NC Community

Comp. Line) and for whatever reason want to consider what he says, then be advised to have a paper and pen near you as there is practically

zero chance you will remember all of the confusing and sometimes conflicting garbage he tosses your way each day.
