Trace Adams Sunday Play with Analysis

For Sunday in the NFL, 1500♦ Raise the Bar NFC Game of the Month will be the visiting Arizona Cardinals as the underdog against the host Minnesota Vikings. As of 6:00 am eastern time, the Cardinals are the +6 1/2 point underdogs both in Vegas and offshore.

Don't see much of a marginal difference in the Arizona attack if it is Kevin Kolb or John Skelton running the show, so with that being the case, I am very attracted to the points they are giving to Arizona this Sunday afternoon in the Twin Cities.

True the Cardinals offensive line has looked like a sieve the past couple of weeks, as their 4-0 start is now a distant memory with losses in their last pair of games, but even though their offense has been struggling, the Redbirds defense can play with the best of them, and after not throwing a pick in his first 4 games, Minny QB Christian Ponder has thrown 4 picks his last 2 games!

Minnesota is just 1-3 this season against the spread when installed as the favorite, and just 2-5 overall against the number when installed as the home chalk since last season.

Arizona on the other hand has covered 8 of their last 10 when listed as the underdog, and are 2-0 in that role this year winning both games outright (Seattle and New England). Capable underdog versus an unreliable favorite?

The Cardinals keep it close in the Dome this Sunday afternoon.

Trace Adams Monday Play with Analysis

For Monday night, Top-Rated 1000♦ Winner #16 of 24 is the visiting Detroit Lions plus the points against the Chicago Bears. At 8:00 am eastern time, the Lions are +6 1/2 point underdogs against the Bears.



Too many points tonight. This is really a must-win game for the 2-3 Lions, as a loss tonight would drop them to 2-4 while it would push the Bears to 5-1 for the year. Chicago is coming off their bye-week, so they should be well-rested, but this impost does leave plenty of wiggle room for a Lions team that got a shot of confidence in their wild overtime win at Philadelphia last Sunday.



Believe it or not, that point spread win was Detroit's first point spread victory of the season. Still, these teams did split their 2 meetings last year, the visitor with the outright win in both, and the Lions have managed to cover the spread in 3 of their last 4 series meetings versus their division rival.



Detroit's defensive line showed some signs of life last weekend, as they were able to record 3 sacks and 10 tackles for a loss against Michael Vick and the Eagles. Look for that line to be active against Jay Cutler and company. Cutler has had his way for the most part this season, but I have seen that Chicago line get bullied at times, and all we need to do is keep this one close as we are getting right around a touchdown to play with.



The Bears have won and covered both home games this season, and at 4-1 I am sure they are feeling quite confident this Monday night. Maybe a little too confident in my mind. Take the Lions plus the points as this one is decided by no more than a field goal.

glad i got -6 as well. that 3rd and 19 was the killer on that last drive. bears gave up
