Trace Adams Thursday Play with Analysis

For Thursday night, 1500♦ NFL Winner #4 of 5 is the Minnesota Vikings as the home favorite against the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the time I release this selection, the Vikings are listed as the 6 1/2-point home favorite both in Las Vegas and at the offshore books.

Last week we saw another underdog cover under the Thursday lights, as Seattle managed to stay inside of the impost when San Francisco declined a safety in the game's final minute of play. That puts the Thursday night underdog at a whopping 5-1 this year with 5 straight covers!

Can the streak continue?

I say nay!

I went against the Vikings on Sunday when they pushed versus the Cardinals as the -7 point home favorite, but I will ride them in revenge in this meeting of former NFC North teams. Tampa did go into Minnesota last season on Week 2 and dump the Vikings 24-20 as the one-point pup, but a lot has changed since then.

For one thing, Minny is 5-2 straight up, going a perfect 4-0 at the Dome with a 2-1-1 home spread mark. I know Christian Ponder ONLY threw for 58-yards on Sunday, and I also know he has 6 picks the last 3 games, but guess what...Ponder and the Vikings ALSO know it and I think they will correct that issue with this quick-turnaround home date.

Tampa Bay last played on the road over a month ago, and the Bucs are off to an 0-2 straight up start on the highway this season. After their opening week win under 1st year coach Greg Schiano, the Buccaneers have now lost 4 of their last 5 games straight up.

Minnesota with a shot at doubling last season's low win total of 3 with a win tonight as they would push their record to 6-2 at the halfway point. I like them to do just that. I see this one being decided in the 9-point range.

Take the Norsemen as the home favorite.

Trace Adams Friday Play with Analysis

For Friday night in college football, going with home favorite Louisville over the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats. At the time I release this selection your way, Louisville is the -3 1/2 point favorite over Cincy.

First off, let it be known, not a big fan of Papa John's pizza, think they can throw a few extra dipping garlic sauces and pepperoncinis in without nickel-and-diming you for them! Having said that, no issue with the stadium and its fans tonight pulling in the home team tonight. It should be noted, a home team that has lost each of the last 4 series meetings, and is 1-3 against the spread in those 4 meetings.

Remember this, Louisville is currently undefeated at 7-0, and while they dodged a bullet last week when they escaped at home by 2-points over South Florida, they did avoid the look-ahead to a team they are seeking "quadruple revenge" against.

And speaking of the Bearcats, their undefeated season was halted last week in a 29-23 loss at Toledo. Cincy's Achilles heel was exposed in that one, as QB Muchie tossed a pair of picks - one returned for a TD - and the 'Cats also gave up a punt return for a score.

Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback rates the edge over Legaux, as Bridgewater did throw for a whopping 500-plus yards and 3 TD's in last week's victory. With Cincinnati playing on the road for a second straight week, playing off their first loss, and playing versus a side that is looking for serious payback, this one is a "slam dunk" call on the Cardinals minus the points.

Trace Adams Saturday Play with Analysis

For Saturday in college football, 2000♦ Double Your Wager Winner # 4 of 5 is the Arkansas Razorbacks as the home favorite against the visiting Ole Miss Rebels. At the time I release this selection on Friday night, Arkansas is the -5 1/2-point fave over Ole Miss.

After 4 losses in a row both straight up and against the spread, the Arkansas Razorbacks went to their bye-week with a pair of wins over conference foes Auburn and a lightning-shortened win over Kentucky. I have a feeling the Hogs are gonna up their win streak to 3 in a row today in Little Rock over a quality Ole Miss squad.

First year coach Hugh Freeze has his Rebels standing at 4-3 straight up, and they have covered 4 in a row and 5 of their last 6 games. The problem is Ole Miss is on an 11 game conference losing skid and Arkansas, and they have failed their last 5 visits to Arkansas against the spread.

The Hogs may be 0-3 against the line this season as the home favorite, but they are an overall 13-7-1 in that role their last 21 lined home dates. It is time for John L. Smith's team to show why they were ranked so highly before the season started. Tyler Wilson is getting his mojo back, but with a closing schedule at South Carolina, Miss State, and home versus LSU, the Hogs had better get get this win and cover under their belts.

They will! Lay the small home chalk with Arky in Little Rock this Saturday.
