Do you believe in rock and roll, oops I mean the law of averages? (for some reason I was initially thinking of the lyrics of great song American Pie).

If you do, you might want to CONSIDER playing the Late Phones this weekend if we get them in timely manner for the simple reason that NC/the Late Phones

have lost in seven out of nine weeks so far and MAY be due to win for a week this week.

This is NOT a recommendation but rather just a thought.

A little attempted humor to start your day.

As we all know this is "Turn back the CLOCK Weekend" at NC, meaning that the cost of the Late Phones is rolled back to 1982 prices.

Perhaps if there is an elderly circumciser out there whose business has fallen off and who wants to have a weekly discount promotion

to get folks with newborn boys or others to avail themselves of his services, perhaps a fitting name for the promotion would

be "Turn back the(top of the) COCK Week Special. ":):)

Back later.

Ok here we go with the summary of the comp. messages today:

Ext. 9 Pump for totals, which cost $75 is that is all that one wants.

Everything else the same as has been mentioned all eek.

THE NC TOTALS COMP. OF THE WEEK IS UNDER BYU 50 1/2.

Ext 3. A real shocker today and a good one.

As part of the "Turn Back the Clock Weekend Special," NC is discounting Full Executive Service between now and Monday night to $100, an alleged

up to $400 value.

I question whether it is really worth up to $400, but hey it includes every single play and category that NC puts out, and that imo is actually

a great price for someone who wants to know all of the different kinds of plays rather than just select ones.

THE NC SIDES COMP. OF THE WEEK IS NORTH CAROLINA -2.

Hopefully back later with the Late Phones in a timely manner.

It looks like my sort of prediction/hunch in post 422 as NC is 7-2 so far with one game still out.

Marquees went 1-2.

NC FINALLY has a big deal with its Late Phone Picks going 8-2 and picks up 21.4 units.

It was the opposite of last week when aLte Phones were under 500 and comps went 7-1 on Saturday on Marquees 3-0.

This week the comps. went 3-5 and Marquees 1-2.

That said, this was only the second really big Saturday of the season for NC, the other one being a 9-1 day much earlier season,

the other ones being losing ones or around .500.

They will have to be a lot more consistent than that to draw any attention.

The good news though is that the prices for this week are the lowest so far for the season in this Turn Back the Clock Weekend, meaning that perhaps more

people signed up than usual and thus took notice.

I don't know how this will translate into sales for next weekend's sales.

The only sure thing is that if NC reverts back to normal prices with the expectations that a lot more people than will sign up simply because they had

a good week(assuming that they don't go 0-3 today), imo they are going to be disappointed even if there is a monthly Game of Something next week

which is likely to be the case.

The n again I am not privy to their revenue streams, meaning that I don't know for sure how many people bought in next week and/or would

be willing to pay what I assume will be much higher prices next week.

Back later.

Well no surprises today-Todd simply recaps yesterday's great day record, which is the same as what I had them for.

Standard Sunday NFL pricing is in effect.

Two things to consider:

1) After the other great college Saturday they had in September, when they went 9-1, they went 1-2 the next day in the NFL.

2) Last Sunday they went 0-3 in the NFL.

Does it mean anything?

Well perhaps not, but as I had prior to the very nice Saturday they just had, I also have a hunch that they are going to win-that's all it is-I would be very

much surprised though if they go 0-3.

THE NFL PRO PLAY OF THE WEEK IS UNDER INDIANAPOLIS 40 1/2.

Not much help, but all we know for now is that NC had a play on the Carolina game and that the other two plays are for the latter games.

All I can say is these are the correct plays, I am astounded that they went 0-3 for the second consecutive Sunday and even more so

because of the outstanding day they had yesterday.

I don't have all the exact records for all the years I have been following NC, but off the top of my hat, I would say that two consecutive 0-3 days in the

NFL is extremely rare.

Also as a person who tells it as it is, I played these three games as regular plays as part of a few other games I played, figuring that the absolute

worst I would do would be 1-2.

If Seattle had made the game winning field goal when time expired, then it would have been a 1-2 day-I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Needless to say, in spite of the great day yesterday, today is going to leave a bad taste in people's mouths and will be fresh in their

minds as next week rolls around-this is EXACTLY what the doctor DIDN'T order!!

Forget what I said in post 436 about two consecutive winless Sundays-it is actually THREE counting today, making the last three Sundays 0-9-1!!

Thanks for Crown's correction in main service thread to which I responded.

If there was a line on this, which there obviously will not be, I would bet anything I own and max out on my credit cards that Todd/NC will NEVER admit to

going 0-9-1 over last three Sundays in the NFL.

If they went 9-0-1, they "might" admit it and "perhaps" add a little bragging.

Savage thx for invite. I don’t disagree with what you said. They are very good at going back to their record over 2 years or what ever gets them over 60%. Usually nov and dec they are solid once hoops goes off. We will see. Lot of changes there with who knows who is doing the picks there. Is Phil Steele still working as consultant? I know Ralph left from Cal. Just wonder who that is reputable is calling the shots there anymore. Good discussion. Did not know you had. A thread here about them. Thx

Hi Crown-welcome and glad to have you aboard!

Re: your question, my understanding from what NC says, Phil is only the owner of NC and has been hands off the picks and the operation for a while.

I find that hard to believe actually as for one thing(as I have said before, everything about the comp. line is the same as always-the promos,

everything being tied to PowerSweep, the deceptive record keeping, etc.

And lets face it we all know Phil is the one puts in the 100 hour plus work weeks which consist of everything under the same re: stats, trends, angles, etc.

and which form the basis of PS and PowerPlays each week as well as his private sets of picks.

I would assume that at the very least this stuff is also used as a strong basis for the Late Phones, Marquees.

I raised this question last year at the CM, where this thread was stationed last season.

At that forum there was a verified insider at NC, who either worked there at one time and/or who knew someone who did.

Unfortunately he hasn't come over to this thread yet(his posting name is Alcatraz), but in reference to the question, he stated that Phil

still had a lot of say in their picks even though there are other folks involved.

I remember Alcatraz distinctly stating once that Phil had the final say when it came to big plays, and would NEVER allow one to be released

unless he agreed with it.

That said, it is anyone's guess as to actually makes most of the calls over there and whether/how much Phil is involved presently.

As you can see, I am pretty involved with this(maybe too much lol), but I wouldn't too it if I didn't believe there is some interest.

Not to brag, but even though there haven't been too many responses to what I say, I think the record keeping is important as well

as my commentary, as evidenced by over 13000 hits in just over two months.

if you don't know already, the "Phil Steele/NC Crusade/Exposure" with me has been going on since the early 2000's(again maybe I shouldn't brag about that lol).

ps Again feel free to disagree with me and/or add your own commentary.

Also can I assume that you are not related to Rob Crowne(he spells his name a bit differently with an added letter)?

I aske because when he was around(a number of years back), he was not only an excellent capper but extremely intelligent and with some grea

tips on gambling.
