What did you think? He scored ZERO TD's and had 1 long run the entire game. I was there, were you?
I really don't give a F**K if you were their or not.Fact of the matter is you keep talking about this team going AGAINST CREAM PUFFS. OK was rated #1 defensively and was suppose to shut this team down USC blew them out. Bush breaks a long one and that still isn't enough. They could win every game 60-0 and you would still criticize this team

Does anyone here think Bush would run for 10+ ypc vs Va Tech or Fla St? I sure as hell don't. In fact, he wouldn 't break 100 yards vs either.

I really feel sad for this whormoan gal. She obviously is very homesick for the south. Beautiful Saturday in San Diego and she sits on the keyboard for hours and hours on end with nothing constructive to say,she can only try to raise a ruckus with tired rants attempting to deny the greatness of a classy young San Diego native named Reginald Bush. Whormoan is so sick she can't appreciate the greatest college back-perhaps ever. She tries to apply some proffessional football prospective by making up some lie that she was involved with multiple pro football organizations. Honey come out of your darkness and into the light and embrace your fellow San Diegans.
Reggie is just the latest to come from the community you must feel trapped in you poor dear. Terrell Davis,Ricky Williams,Marcus Allen,Ted Williams,Bill Walton all found greatness and love in Americas finest city. Whormoan only feels hate. Lets all donate to the Whormoan Fund to send her back to her birthplace to rejoin her sister/mom and many cousins.

I hope everyone is not falling for all the hype. Can you say Desmond Howard? Can you say Rocket Ishmael?

Any team dumb enough to pick a punt returner with the first pick of the draft deserves to pick at the top spot. Not saying this guy is not going to have the occational great play in the pros but Dante Hall is not first pick of draft material.

I dont see what all the hype is over about a guy with a great O-line running through the pac10.
I agree 100%
Too much bullshit about this guy

First of all Tomlinson is the closet thing to Barry Sanders since Barry left.

Second EVERYONE thought Desmond Howard was going to be a great one he dominated college football every bit as much as Bush did. It's a crap shoot but because Bush will be given every oppurtunity to star you would have to say he eventually will, but to what degree is the real question?

Barring a major injury - this guy will be a STUD in the NFL. With his size , speed and intelligence, I see another Marshall Faulk - only bigger and better! Yes, I know those are some big shoes. And he does remind me of Gayle Sayers after watching the special on ESPN with Gayle last night (and Andrea Mitchell).

I sure hope im wrong about this one.

I am about the biggest SAINTS fan you will ever meet. I hope I have to eat every last word of this thread.

Its funny how when your team drafts someone, all of a sudden your thoughts on a player changes.:lolBIG:

Saints got themselves an expensive 3rd down back and kick returner. Deuce is playing the role of "team guy" well, but when push comes to shove, he will be toting the rock.

This would be a good time to revist this thread.

After almost a year, its hard to put into words how I feel about this thread.

Im far from 100% wrong and im far from 100% right.

Back when I originally made this thread, I had no idea that BUSH would get drafted by my beloved SAINTS.

Then it happened. With the 2nd pick of the draft, The New Orleans Saints select running back REGGIE BUSH. LOL.

Being the optimist that I am, I imediatly went into a different mode, hoping that I had him pegged wrong all this time.

The following are some of my comments I made a year ago, and I will comment on my prior comments here.

This is trully a conflicting thread here. DONT know if I was dead wrong or dead right. I still dont know. :::::::

Any team dumb enough to pick a punt returner with the first pick of the draft deserves to pick at the top spot. Not saying this guy is not going to have the occational great play in the pros but Dante Hall is not first pick of draft material.

I dont see what all the hype is over about a guy with a great O-line running through the pac10
.

Well, cant say im right or wrong here. He has made the occational great play, but is it enough to justify the 2nd pick of the draft?

Here is a bet that GO2GUY offered me.

I'll bet anybody online with the money to be paid heads up that Bush will be offensive R.O.Y. next season. I'll let you pick two players and I'll take Bush. If I win you owe me a dime, if any of your two players win I'll pay you a dime. Funds to be held by a trusted 3rd party. So anybody else that wants to talk shit about Bush, bring it. Name someone in college right now that has the tools this kid has.

Well after he made that post, I came in with this offer.
I will take Laurence Maroney for the limit
.

I wish I would have made this bet, even though neither one of them is going to win,(COLSTON) will be the ROY. But Maroney is pretty much a lock for 2nd place right now. I sure I could have gotten a bet out of him on who would finish highest.

later comment from Go2GUY

Sorry it took me so long to answer Chop but I had to get up off of the floor from laughing my ass off after reading your reply. Maroney is good no doubt but he's no Bush.

Are you through laughing your ass off yet?

Here is another comment I made in that this thread.

NO MATTER WHERE HE GOES barring injury.

Thats the big if with bush. He will not be able handle the pounding of the NFL. Sure he will lead the league in punt return yards and Kickoff returns yards. But he will be nothing more than a 3rd down back in the NFL.

I would much rather have someone like a Maroney who can carry the ball 30 times a game.

Do not laugh at this but Reggie Bush reminds me of Kevin Faulk. Kevin Faulk was the most legendary high school football player in the history of Louisiana when LSU signed him. Went to the Patroits and has become a nice player but certainly not a great player.

That comment is starting to look so accurate its almost scary!!!!!!!

He reminds me more and more of Kevin Faulk everyday.

Before you go laughing. There were about 4 people in this thread that compared him to Gyle Sayers, only faster, LOL, and Barry Sanders, only quicker, LOL.

At this point he is a whole lot closer to kevin Faulk than those 2 guys dont you think?

So I said all that to say this,

Reggie Bush has been on the football almost exactly the way a predicted him to be.

A guy thats inconsistant, that will make the occational great play.
With all that being said, I left off a few very important things.

I did not know that he was such a great guy off the field. What a great human being. One of the most humble people in his position that you will ever meet. The guy has already donated millions of his own money to help the hurricane efforts. The guy is the ultimate team player, and hes a leader. I can honestly say the Saints would not be 5-2 without him, despite his modest stats.

So I dont know If I was right or wrong on this one.

The Saints had to take him no matter what, If he never gets another TD the rest of his career, he already saved the franchise from moving to L.A or some other place. There was not another player on the board that could have done that.

The Saints sold out because of his rock star status. He will probably go down as the most important player in SAINTS history, even if he is not even the Best Running back on the team, or even if he was not the best player the saints drafted this season, (COLSTON).

For now, hes one hell of a decoy.<!-- / message -->

Give Reggie time...he never learned how to be a RB in college, he's getting first hand training now. His natural instinct is to make something big happen. He will learn by sheer punishment that that is not how it works in the NFL. He will learn to hit the hole faster...that 4 yards is a great run, and every now and then that 4 yard run will be a 40 yard run. Right now the Saints are trying to get Bush the ball out in space, they have a solid RB in McCallister. Bush's time will come. He will never be a Sanders, but I'm willing to bet he ends up having a somewhat better career than Keith Faulk.

No I'm still laughing bro at how quick you change your tune when the Aints drafted your boy Bush. Even though the season is barely half over, I think he's doing good for a rookie player that's just a punt returner. Hindsight is 20/20 but you should've had the balls to bet me the dime back then and I would've possibly been out some loot. BTW I agree on Maroney and did back then, he's gonna be the truth in the AFC barring injury for years to come....but I would've still drafted Bush :103631605

I will tell you my opinion of Bush. I bet him at -130 to be the first player taken in the NFL draft. Any team that passes on him will live to regret it. He's the best I have seen since Gale Sayers and quite a bit stronger.

Oops!

Remember this thread?

And they called me the village idiot over this thread.

I compared him to kevin Faulk.

I cant tell you how many times this season I heard someone compare Reggie Bush to Kevin Faulk.

This thread was made before Reggie even got drafted.
