Classic, the tool who said Eli Manning was a bust and that Arron Brooks is a better QB. Never mind the fact he also said that Andy Marté was going to hit 50 home runs in the major leagues is laughing at someone elses wrong opinions.

I said that?

I will give you every asset I own if you can find the thread where I said anything close to that.

Give me Stecker over Bush any day of the week. He runs hard and picks up the blitz like crazy

Wow you really have lost your mind. Just a post of ridiculous proportions. You ever watch how undynamic Stecker is?

Sorry it was another homer who said Marte was a 50 home run guy. You still gushed over him like you wanted to ask him out to the prom.

Marte is a huge prospect

Marte is the best 3rd base prospect since Scott Rolen.

Were your quotes.

Sadly I look like an idoit with this comment in that thread.

Agreed I think Brazelton if he doesn't lose his mind can have the same type of season that Sosa did with Atlanta last year.

Needless to say that never happen.

For all their slobbering over him tonight (and the punt returns were nice but a truck could've driven through the lane on the 1st one), he is a RB and has 11 carries for 26 yards and 2 fumbles (he was lucky a teammate recovered the 2nd one). Darren Sproles is having a better yr than Bush with far less hype. Bush was supposed to be the next Barry Sanders. As I said when he was drafted, more like the next Dante Hall

So... You're saying that Devin Hester deserved to be the second pick in the draft and be talked about for hours on sports center before the draft?

That makes no sense. Returning two punts doesn't make him less of a bust as a RUNNING BACK. He's a good player but he's far from great. He was supposed to be the greatest of all time and he's not even close. Care to argue that?

My sentiments exactly. He has 2 fumbles tonight and a 2 yd/carry avg. I would rather not have had the punt returns for TD (Brees is good enough to generate pts) and have a RB that could move the chains and not fumble

Nobody has run on the Vikings D in 2.5 years!! No different tonight.

One guy did however bring his team back and give them a lead on 2 punt returns which has happened about 10 times in NFL history. You just keep looking like a bigger moron every time you posts in these threads.

Guy leads the league in receptions too.... it's how they get their "run" game going.

Here’s a fun fact for you: In 2009, Chris Johnson (and please raise your hand if you knew that Johnson played his college ball at East Carolina) rushed for 2,006 yards. In four years, Reggie Bush has run for 1,904 yards. Total.

PROPS to the Saints for finding his role in their within their team as the titans have with White/johnson and the cards did with Lienardt/warner.

We will see what the future holds, bigger busts out there... 8 TD's in 2009.

Well the Reggie Bush era in New Orleans comes to an end today.

Very mixed feelings here.
As you can see from the thread I did not want the Saints to draft Reggie because I though he would be the next Kevin Faulk.
That turned out to be true on the football field.

But what I failed to do was look at the big picture.

If you look at the big picture Reggie meant so much more to the Saints then what he did on the field.

He was drafted at a time in Saints history where we were the laughing stock of the NFL.
We did not even have a place to play his 1st few games in N.O

Katrina totally blew away New Orleans.

A case can be made that the Saints would not be in N.O right now if they did not draft Reggie.

Reggie brought the excitement back to N.O.

The Saints Signed Drew Brees a few months before drafting Bush, but the excitement level for drew wasnt even 50% of what it was for Reggie.

The Saints had difficulty selling out the Dome before drafting Reggie, but the moment the Commish said the Saints select Reggie Bush there has not been an empty seat since.

As a matter of fact there is a 60K waiting list for season tickets now.

I remember not being able to give tickets to games away before then, now I have to worry about who will get pissed off the least at me for not giving them a ticket.

Anyway Reggie was the start of all that.

A.J Hawk could have never pulled that off.
d'brickashaw ferguson would have never pulled it off.
Matt Leinert would have never pulled it off.

Only Reggie.

Another thing is he is a great person.
Dont listen to the crap you hear about taking money at USC. This is something most poor players would have done in his situation.
The ultimate team player, that always put the Saints 1st.
100% pure class.

So although he did not do it on the field like some thought he would, he did much more for the team off the field then any player could have done for the team on the field at the time.

So with that I wish Reggie all the success in the world in Miami.
Good luck dude. It was a blast! You were a big part of the most exciting time in Saints history.

thoughts?

If you read the post right before yours I still feel mostly the same way.

No he is not a bust.
I will call him a late bloomer.
I dont know why it did not work out in N.O.
He is doing things now that he never did with the Saints.

He is not as fast as he was with the Saints but he is much more powerful.
I have never seen him break tackles the way he does now.

I dont know if its because he is stronger now or if its because when he was in N.O he danced around in the backfield looking for a hole and by the time he started going forward he did not have enough momentum to plow through the first defender.

Now when he gets the ball he does not dance around like he use to.
He takes the ball and goes forward.
He is much more decisive then he was.

NO MATTER WHERE HE GOES barring injury.

Thats the big if with bush. He will not be able handle the pounding of the NFL. Sure he will lead the league in punt return yards and Kickoff returns yards. But he will be nothing more than a 3rd down back in the NFL.

I would much rather have someone like a Maroney who can carry the ball 30 times a game.

Do not laugh at this but Reggie Bush reminds me of Kevin Faulk. Kevin Faulk was the most legendary high school football player in the history of Louisiana when LSU signed him. Went to the Patroits and has become a nice player but certainly not a great player.<!-- / message -->

Well it looks like Reggies career is over.
I made the Kevin Faulk comp before he he took his first snap in the NFL back when everyone in this thread was comparing him to Barry Sanders and Gayle Sayers.
Faulk and Bush ended up less then 200 yards apart in the yards receiving stat for a career.
I would say thats pretty darn close and a great comparision.
Bush had a good bit more rushing yards but at the end of the day my Faulk comp was pretty spot on.

I would say Reggies career fell much more closer to Faulk then it did Barry Sanders. Wouldnt you say?

At the end of the day its kind of hard to call him a bust.
I started this thread before I even knew the Saints were going to draft him.

He ended up being a valuable member of the team (as was faulk) at an important time.

So bust might have been a tad too strong of a word to say.
