He's the reason why LenDale is getting less playtime this year. Man, have you seen this kids hips when he is running full speed? He can change direction without slowing down! This guy is a gamebreaker and with a halfway decent O-Line, he will be dangerous in the NFL.

He reminds me somewhat of Barry Sanders only faster, but his thighs are not as big but his cutting ability is similiar.

Not going to make this bet yet. Too many variables. Lets talk about this in April after the draft so I can see which team drafts him.

Fair enough but I would think if you felt, right now, he isn't the real deal then you would jump on an opportunity to make this bet. I have confidence that he will make an impact NO MATTER WHERE HE GOES barring injury.

That exactly what I thought when I saw him against Fresno State.

Thats the big if with bush. He will not be able handle the pounding of the NFL. Sure he will lead the league in punt return yards and Kickoff returns yards. But he will be nothing more than a 3rd down back in the NFL.

I would much rather have someone like a Maroney who can carry the ball 30 times a game.

Do not laugh at this but Reggie Bush reminds me of Kevin Faulk. Kevin Faulk was the most legendary high school football player in the history of Louisiana when LSU signed him. Went to the Patroits and has become a nice player but certainly not a great player.<!-- / message -->

You keep comparing this man to midgets...Kevin Faulk is 5'8". Reggie Bush is bigger than Maroney. He is 6'0" 210 lbs.

Desmond Howard - 5'10" 170 lbs
Rocket Ismail - 5'11" 185 lbs

None of the players you mention compare to the moves and speed Bush has. The only comparable running back in terms of quickness and ability to make people miss is Barry Sanders...and Bush is much bigger and more physical.

Are you trying to say that Reggie Bush is going to be better than Barry Sanders? I agree Bush is a little faster than Sanders. I will even go as far as saying hes quite a bit faster than Sanders. But no one ever can juke and jive like the great Barry Sanders could. The best pure running back ever IMO.

Finally somebody else on this forum with a keen eye. Great post, Choptalk.
People are oooing and aaahing over him running through Fresno State like a knife through butter while some Nevada RB I've never heard of had a career day vs Fresno the following week. Reggie Bush is the incredible high school RB playing against boys or the Little League pitcher with the beard. He is running against the absolute worst defenses in teh country (we all saw Stanford's act on Sat night as well as Fresno's). Reggie Bush is incredibly talented, fast, shifty, etcc.... HOWEVER, he will be a utility back (return man, slot WR, 3rd down back, etc...) in the NFL making him NOT 1st pick of the draft material. Running backs are a dime a dozen (Sam Gado wasn't drafted and didn't even start for Liberty). Reggie Bush is FAR closer to Dante Hall and Rocket Ismael than Tomlinson, Faulk, etc... Reggie has never toted the rock on a consistent basis against real defenses and taken the pounding. He is an unprioven RB. Ladainian Tomlinson is a WORKHORSE and an every down back.
The pressure to take Bush #1 will be there as it was for his high school teammate Alex Smith. He will be an enormous bust in the pros because of where he is drafted. If drafted #1 you need to be a perennial pro-bowler and franchise player to validate your spot. Reggie Bush will NEVER be in the Pro-Bowl as anything other than a return specialist (if that). Comparisons to Gale Sayers sprouted after the Fresno game. What an insult to Sayers and a joke. A high school team could score vs Fresno.

You should be insulted that Whormoan agrees with you Chop...that is the ultimate sign you should rethink your opinion.

Loved when Barry played but he had many negative yards plays when he couldn't find a hole or bounce back the other way then he would get a big run from nowhere to more than makeup for the negative plays. Bush can still hit the hole with his size and at least pickup a few yards where Sanders couldn't. Let's see this play out to determine if he could ever measure up to Sanders. To me, Bo Jackson COULD'VE been better than any RB in the NFL ever but we see what happened there.

I'll bet anybody online with the money to be paid heads up that Bush will be offensive R.O.Y. next season. I'll let you pick two players and I'll take Bush. If I win you owe me a dime, if any of your two players win I'll pay you a dime. Funds to be held by a trusted 3rd party. So anybody else that wants to talk shit about Bush, bring it. Name someone in college right now that has the tools this kid has.

No, if I was trying to say that, I would have said it. I said that is the only comparable running back in terms of Bush's moves. No one will ever have the jukes Barry Sanders has, but Bush makes similar moves.

He has much better hands than Sanders and is without a doubt faster and more physical.

Desmond Howard was a super bowl MVP

I don't think he turned out all that bad!

Reggie will be a bit better, as go2guy points out
Howard and Ismail were wideouts that ran back kicks, Bush is a RB that runs back kicks. You're comparing apples and oranges son!

If you don't play against a legit defense in college, are you just assuming Bush will be great in the pros?

Didn't look too shabby against that SEC Arkansas defense...and if it is so easy, how come all these other great players in college aren't doing it?

Everyone in the Pac-10 IS doing it. Look at Harrison, Drew, Whitehead. NONE of these guys are NFL RB's.

Show me one of the backs you mentioned that ran for 665 yards on 58 carries in non conference games.

Bush's numbers against Notre Dame and Arkansas are better than any he put up against the Pac 10.

To play devil's advocate, Bush has only played one real defense in Arkansas..........I haven't seen the kid enough to know what he'll do, but RB's can be completely hit or miss, look at some of the kids drafted the past couple of years.

BTW, the RB with the best tools ever was Sayers before his injury. One of 3 players ever to have 6 TD's in a game, just an amazing talent

WOW, those tough #46 and #53 defenses in the country. Maybe that's because defense is a Swear word in the Pac-10
