Boys, I have heard of the same thing. Just this morning, I was talking with my buddy Dennis from Ontario, and he was telling me that he tried to get to OLY on the phone to bet the under 37.5 in the NYG/WAS game. I was talking to him at halftime, and the score was 10-10. He was telling me how happy he was the line was busy because he was sure it was going to go over. Then, the game went under. I haven't heard from him, but I bet he's pissed. It's human nature. There is not much you can do, OLY can't hire people to work just for one hour a week, one hour before the games go off on Sunday. The same reason applies to why you have to wait in line at McDonalds at lunchtime for longer than you do at 8:30 at night. Good luck to you all, OLY are a solid out.

primetime I have a suggestion for you. If you want to shop some numbers, you may be wise to spread your money out to a few different places. Right now I am using 5dimes, Canbet and Bowmans. Among the 3 places, you can almost always count on Canbet to hold the original number the longest (today Canbet stayed at 6.5 till the end) and the other 2 were at 7 already on Saturday (maybe earlier) Bowmans favorites are almost always inflated, sometimes by more than a point. People say that Bowmans deals 2 lines, and I am glad they do if it means getting good numbers on the dogs. I am not a big enough player for them to profile me or worry about me but just in case I always try to play some favorites there if the number is the same everywhere.
Just noticed this thread and have something to add. Getting through at Olympic by phone for halftime bets has been almost impossible during the past few weeks. When all of the 1pm NFL games are at halftime, and I call up to check lines I get a busy signal about 90% of the time. This has to be looked at as an even bigger concern than busy signals right before games start - because the window of wagering on halftime bets is so small. Wagers before a game starts can be done even days before. But halftime wagers have a window of about 15 minutes between the line going up and going down.
If staff from Olympic is reading this, are you planning on doing anything to address this? Why can I always get through for halftime bets at other books, but not yours?

I don't think being able to call your bookmaker and not get a busy signal for 10+ minutes straight during halftime is wanting 'the world'. That's just wanting basically reasonable service. And they are definitely missing out on wagers because of it also - so I would think it's also in their best interest to get this resolved.
I called 5 minutes before the 1 pm kickoffs yesterday, got a busy signal the first two times, and then got through. I always get through...There are usually busy signals before the busy time periods(1 pm/4 pm Sunday, 12 pm, 3:30 pm Sat), but I eventually get through before gametime. Here's some advice, use the goddamn redial on your phone you apes or are you still using rotary phones? By the way, the Vikes scored with 12:32 left in the 1st period...Probably the same time you were trying to hustle that bet in. Glad to hear that you have a "life" unlike us other degenerates. But your biggest mistake was getting married...There goes your life...You'll be spending much more time on the RX soon enough after your wife puts you on lockdown. Good luck on your wedding.

Hereis the great olympic customer service in action:
1- I was told to call today and speak to a manager or email them. I emailed them last night and was told that they forwarded it to a manager. Still no response on the email.
So then i decide to call and speak directly to work things out. here is the phone runaround...
2- I called at about 1240 and was told the manager "wally" was away from his desk and to call back in 10 minutes. no problem to me, the guy cant be at his desk all day. so i gladly hung up and waited.
3- I called back at 1255. GUess where good ole wally is? he is on the phone and i should call back later. Once again, i can deal with that, sometimes you are on the phone and sometimes you are away from your desk. totally cool.
4- So i call back at 145 and i ask to speak to a manager. GUess what?? he is busy totalling numbers or something. Yes i know these guys are busy. and that they dont need me and that i am just an annoyance, but c'mon! What is so great about olympic then? If customer service sucks then why are they ebtter than other outlets that pay out. I am sure they arent the only ones that payout!
So After telling the THIRD customer service clown my whole story, "nadian" tells me that "wally" cant even help me and that i need to speak to spiro. And that i have to wait until 630 (the first game of the day) before i can speak to him. I understand that he doesnt get in until game time. SO WHY WASNT HE THERE AT GAME TIME ON SUNDAY? COuld you have a more important time to be at a book? I specifically asked to speak to someone like a manager on sunday to resolve this then but no one was around!
Who wants to bet that when i call, spiro will be either busy or unavailable? But before i pass judgment on him i will extend my patience, which i must admit is wearing thin. and i am sure if he doesnt take my call all the offshore book cronies will explain to me how busy spiro is and that he doesnt have time for a guy like me.

el jefe, how dare you complain about a books service>???? dont you know that you are supposed to deal with all of their problems and not complain. You should be lucky they even take your action. In fact you should tip those people who answer the phones with nasty attitudes.
And why are you complaining on this site??? THis isnt a site to deal with sportsbook problems. You should have gone to marthastewart.com to get advice on how to handle these situations.
I have been on this site for a year and its sad to see how the people from sportsbooks have taken it over.

LIke i have said before i wanted my play in at 1:03 pm and not 130 or 200. And if they had put it in, and minnesota would have gotten clobbered i woudl have dealt with it. You can check the tapes at olympic if you like.
If you get robbed by a guy for 100 bucks but the robber dropped his wallet with 1,000 in it, would you complain???? or would you take the 1,000 and walk off? duh. You would be more pissed had you been out the 100. How about coming up with better arguments cause your old ones still arent working.

The same thing has happened to me during the first week of football season. I like you need to be able to use the phone because I am out and about. I have started making my plays a little earlier.
The cust. service is suspect at times but they always handle the issues in an adequate manner. I guarantee you one thing that Spiro is awesome and will talk to you. It wouldn't surprise me that he doesn't show up in this thread.

I am simply showing people what i am going through. I think its something of a public service. Of course many are going to disagree and i respect that. but others MAY feel the same way. If i speak to spiro or a manager and feel that i am treated fairly i will relay that as well. Like i said before the first few months with olympic was great and if things get resolved, i hope the next few years will be more pleasurable.

I just called olympic ready to resolve this whole thing one way or the other. I call up and ask for spiro. I was put on hold and good ol bobby picks up the phone. I say "is spiro there?" Bobby says "you have to speak to wally first!!!!!!!!"
these guys have to be kidding me!!! I told him that i was told today to call for spiro and that wally couldnt help me. He said that i HAVE to speak to wally first. And that he knew that i had been posting.
I said "YEAH ive been posting, whether i am right or not its all been the truth. and do you have the problem with the truth? i have not posted that i tried to play the game at 1250 and was rejected. I admitted to getting through late, but it was only late because YOUR lines were busy"...silence... bobby then says "ok sir i think you have to speak to wally first. I explain to himn that i tried him 3 times today. he then apologizes, and says that i simply cannot speak to spiro until i speak to wally.
I can see how this is annoying some people and i apologize, but this is more annoying on my end. At least you can opt not to read this. I hope to resolve this soon, and be done with the whole situation.
