Newport,

Sorry, I didn't know you and Tiger were so tight. When did he tell you he loved getting hounded by the media? Maybe I'm wrong about that. I've only met him once and that was in Vegas and the media wasn't around so I didn't ask him about it.

Max it is obvious you wanted to act like a Tiger expert from your first post LIKE YOU ARE THE ONE HAVING Kettel one and tonics with him. I ahve met him at the KEMPER, SOVERIEGN, so LOSE the need for your TIGFER ATTENTION.

At the Sovereign, he had his own roped off section, and he LOVED IT!!!!!, He made a point to tell everyone he was going to the bathroom first, kind of teasing the crowd

So get off of the meeting him personally crap........That and a quarter will get you a local gazette

And remember I started the thread on my personal opinion, you do not like it

Oh well!!

The two easiest jobs in golf;

Tigger's coach - All you have to do is stand behind him for 4 hours at a time and say "nice shot"

Tigger's Caddy - Carry a bag and stand behind him and say " nice shot".

Newport,

Tiger wouldn't know me from Adam.... meeting someone isn't the same as getting to ask him questions personally like you have. I mean, I'm sure he'd remember your meeting him at both the Kemper and Sovereign. And if you'll check my first post in this thread I mentioned him along with Jordan and 'premier athletes'. My whole point has been that it would get old being constantly hounded by the media. Period. Being asked for autographs at the course, fine. That's his work place and the people paid to see him. Off the course, different story. But since neither you nor I have had to deal with this neither one of us can really make an educated statement or guess at what's really like. Or how it would affect us or how it would affect the public's perception of us. But since this is your thread and your opinion I'll respectfull bow out.

BTW... Kettle One sucks. I drink Grey Goose, rocks with a squeeze of lime. Maybe we can have a drink together sometime if we're ever at the Rx bash.
Take care.

Tiger is a class act ....

give me a break as he was the most scrutinized athlete in our lifetime when he went Professional ... he was crashing barriers never done before in a "White Mans" sport

Lets compare Tiger to other athletes:

* Jordan .... lets see, Jordan bet on his own sport and had a mistress on the side

* Barkley .... long overdue to spit on another fan

* McGuire ....Mark, can ya pass us all some steroids?

* Owens .... living proof that I does exsist in the word TEAM

* Simpson ... wife killer

Tiger knows what to say and when to say it ..... he is the best in the world handles the scrutiny with dignity

Newport,
Don't feel bad...the announcers more than make up for your disliking Tiger. I've been nauseated listening to TNT make excuses for Tiger the past 3 days. I love watching Tiger golf but he is easy to dislike. He's so cocky, arrogant, etc.; but just give him a bad stretch of golf over a period of years and make him the underdog and I would cheer for him to rise to the top again.

Tiger

I spend as much if not more time at some of the Golf forums and you would be surprised at some of the info about his holiness that you can get in there. Everything to other caddies and people that have tried to mget auto graphs at the appropriate tmes and places. it would blow you away. I realize his time is his own and he is a unbelievable talent , but you do owe the public something, if not just a smile or good attitude. It us unreal that he would not give Feherty a talk today. I guess that goes back to his fued with Peter Kostis. Come on now, Fehery has done nothing but praise him for sainthood. I get so tired of watching just him, when there are a few other good players out there.

60 Minutes .. Woods is first class

I hear folks on this board mocking Tiger Woods as a "Drama Queen"

Well, reality is he is the Most famous athlete in the world today and on his way to becoming the greatest golfer in the history of this sport ...

The piece on Woods tonite was great and showed a side to Woods that separates him from Michael Jordan with his foundation that just opened up
in Anaheim for kids and plans to open them all over the country

The guy is 1st class and is the most scrutinized athlete in the world today and a man who is rock solid with his devotion to family and kids

"Drama Queen" comments are from the Uneducated pack on this site who most likely are drunks who make 30k per year and still look at Tiger with a racial viewpt

Thanks Tiger for showing why the classiest and best run Professional Sports organization in the world is the PGA (which has contributed more to charity than MLB/NFL and NBA COMBINED!!)

Agreed. I really enjoy 60 Minutes. They consistently produce a high quality news show on a weekly basis, and tonight was no exception.

How would you like to be a member of the lucky sperm club and become
the next daughter or son of Tiger Woods...better than hitting the lottery.

Agree with Doc...Tiger has more class than 99 per cent of all athletes
and he donates alot of time to kids and charities.

one thing that is really shitty about tiger is the crowd he draws at tourneys. I went to TPC yesterday and watched him on a few holes...he has these massive crowds following him...he tees off and after that it's chaos, people running up the hole, people talking being loud, etc. all the while the person playing with him has to deal with all that while he's trying to shoot....I would imagine most players on the tour HATE playing with Tiger because of the disrespectful crowd that follows him around.
This is no fault of his though...just would suck to be his playing partner and deal with that

He is a first class act, when you consider all the attention, scrutiny, demands he gets I'd say he holds it together pretty well. Too nice of a guy probably, you get the feeling there are so many out there hoping for this guy to slip up so they can pounce on him - he's the best golfer ever.

Viejo:

I remember when he turned pro .. walking down the 1st fairway and I had 2 guys use the "N" word in why they hoped Woods bombs out

He is the Jackie Robinson in breaking thru the dumbass color barrier and easily the athlete that is under the microscope more than any in the world today

He was the strongest athlete lb for lb in the history of Stanford athletics and not only dedicated to his Mom & Dad but also a young man who is deft a role model and you could see the joy in his face when describing how this center was a bigger thrill for him than hitting any golf shot

I think they said he spent 5 million of his own money on this project and after seeing what the center offers to kids I would agree the funds that he raises for his foundation goes to a very worthy cause

Its refreshing to see a world class athlete that handles winning and losing with class .. a man who handles the press with dignity after defeat .. a man who has a sense of humor and is not on police blotters / involved with affairs with women / a man who does do drugs and a man who is very smart and most likely will walk away from his sport when the time comes

Woods is one of the few honest to good ROLE MODELS the world of sports offers today

While I agree with most of what you say, Tiger is far from the Jackie Robinson of Golf. There were many before Tiger that had to fight to break that color barrier. It was not Tiger, although I have heard him thank the old timers for what they have done for him.
