I've come to the conclusion that you're more obsessed with the Yankees as you consistently post negativity about them instead of focusing on your own team's success. Sad. So much for your TB focus. You should attend more of your team's games and buy more merch before they depart the grapefruit league state for greener pastures.

Side Note: I am treading water in this here website w attempts to stimulate Threads re SPORTS

I could start a fresh thread about covid in Florida, ya know

Good for you, you will hit those. But the personal anti stats against Yankee players, team, payroll, minor league prospects, etc are very transparent and far outweigh your thread on TB Rays with a focus. You're juggernaut Rays better go back to at least the WS or this year will be considered disappointing. Besides your organization could use the attendance and funds from post season.

Pretty sure Sternberg & Co successfully pay all their bills regardless of the attendance :)

As for getting to the WS that would of course be awesome....but playing meaningful baseball in Sept & Oct is the real dream every April and one that too frequently has not happened here

And virtually every post I have made at Rx re Yankees, Rays or any other MLB club is directed at the theme of (get ready) Sports Betting

ie, is it a good or a not good investment to get behind 2021 Yankees....or Rays....or other clubs

In April, NY was third seed in overall WS Futures and Rays were 14th

Don't take it personally that I felt both those seedings were Way Off

Come on back and let me (us all) know your thoughts on best betting investments down the final eight week stretch of MLB

That would sure interest me and would be a sincerely welcome alternative to the flood of threads re Covid, transgender kids and social justice matters

cheers

No offense taken. Please read these replies as I am even keel on this. However, you have gone after the Yankees all season long, much to my surprise and tolerance so now that it's nitty gritty time I have to reply. Tampa is having a terrific year and have established themselves as AL fave. Your comments about the Yanks is what I use to read from frustrated and angry Bosox fans pre-2004. I guess you'll calm down and exhale if you can win it all.

Definitely appreciate the sports talk and no I don't want to hear about Florida's Covid crisis. Spare me.

I leave you with this though. How the hell are the Tampa Bay Lightning, an NHL franchise more successful, popular and interesting than the Rays?? Think they outdraw the Rays and they play in an arena. And this was before they won the back to back Cups.

TBL have been strong SC contenders for about six to seven years and with just a couple exceptions they have been in playoffs annually past 20 years

Only 41 home games and capacity 19k

Also the population within 30min drive of Amalie Arena is almost double that within 30min drive of the Trop

When Rays have been consistent contender (2008-2013 four playoff shots) they averaged almost 23k

This year just second year of "new" playoff contender (third overall) where fans are permitted

It's reasonable to forecast that if covid is more contained by next spring Rays attendance will head back up over 20k per game

My going after Yankees is wholly within context of whether they are a good wager to win division, league or WS

Until past 10 days or so they have remained a very overpriced Future but that should pretty much finally flatten out now that they have played with their own "new lineup" for six weeks and yet remain about 12th-15th in most MLB Power Rankings and with odds of missing playoffs rising

what a disaster

Yankees "new offense" has scored 33 runs in past 10 games....it's the same tired bunch from prior to deadline plus a couple of ringers which cost them 10 legit MiL prospects

Cannot believe Cashman survives this

He did not give up his best prospects though. I'm not a Cashman fan and wish he would go but please let's try and tell it like it is. He did very well on these trades IMHO. And the salaries were vastly picked up. Stay tuned.

Rizzo heading to Jeter & Marlins in '22

Not sure how the fanbase will tolerate Gallo for '22 unless he suddenly picks this team up in final 24 games

Coming into this season, Aroldis Chapman had never allowed a 107+ mph HR in the Statcast Era (since 2015).

He's now allowed 5 HR of 109+ mph in 2021, now led by Vlad Jr.'s 114.3 mph rocket

In fact, Chapman is the only MLB relief pitcher to allow 5 HR of 109+ mph this season.

Less about Chappie and more about why few - if any - teams will ever again pay a RP $16M

If he appears for 7 more innings, AC will be at 54 IP in 2021 at a payroll cost of $300k per inning

The TB Rays (top bullpen ERA in AL) and other contenders are stocked w multiple highly effective RP arms being paid 5% and less of that insane price

My Bosox are 9 games out... dang.

I haven't watched even one inning of baseball this year. I'll probably watch a little bit come playoffs. The game is just too slow for me now.

I do love rooting against the Yankees.

Yep it's a love 'em or hate 'em deal. That's what happens when you're a successful iconic franchise. I.E. Cowboys, Duke basketball, Alabama football etc.

At least you admit you root against them but if the Red Sox are having a terrific regular season, defending AL champs with a minor league system that's stacked are you still more obsessed with your envy/hatred for the Yankees?

If anyone was truly envious of a franchise with one World Series appearance in past 18 seasons they would be envious of multiple teams

My ol' pal FestZit has dutifully posted updates in his anti-Cowboys thread here for over a decade and I am reasonably sure he is not envious of their on-field success during that time span

The title of this here Thread notes the 2021 Yankees having started the year in slowest fashion since 1997

Ongoing posts have simply added to that theme as they appear destined for a fourth place finish in AL East...a rarity since 1997 but not as rare lately since it would be their second such finish in past six seasons

j/k.....they could well finish third...question now is if they can eclipse the 2016 84 Wins
