I had a chance to grab some Yankees 20-1, before they got hot!!!

Kicking myself for not throwing a nickel on it, I still think the Dodgers Win it, with Pitching and they have great bats also.

Yanks pitching scares me at the end of the day, still should have bought some Yanks with that All Star like lineup.

NY has at most two men in their lineup worthy of 2021 AllStar status - Gallo and Judge

DJLM and Rizzo are next closest and Stanton is fringe

The remaining bats are middlin' spares and strong pitching clubs easily stifle them

Their pitching is surprisingly third in AL...not bad at all though most of their bullpen go-to men are being strongly stretched wrt to innings pitched in 2021

Their pythag record is still just 71-59....so fortunate for them to have 76 actual Wins at this moment

Positing an utterly imaginary demo that "fears going to MLB games due to inner-city violence" strongly dilutes your pertinent observations about the costs of operating a successful MLB franchise

Fans are staying away, yes they are, it is a factor in the big cities. Cops are neutered, unable to intercede, some cannot even chase a violent criminal even on foot after a violent confrontation.

AND prosecutors are letting violent criminals off the hook.

Take your wife and kids to a nice game downtown? Nope.

Yankees ground into five DPs last night as their Frankenstein foot speed leads to a fourth straight loss...Now eight games back in East and needing 15-15 run to finish at 91 wins

Would need a 20-10 run to complete the Opening Day OVER 95 Wins line in Vegas

A far cry from the struggle to win 88 games and a wild card elimination by mid September.

Most seasons I am like the rest of you - hoping to correctly predict 50% of my preseason guesses

This year the forecasts laid out in Page1 of my Great Game thread are nicely above that pace....Only wish I had a trustworthy Out for betting here in Florida....hopefully that day is not far off

You’ve sold out to your ideology, a hopeless obedient Dem.

I am a Republican, voted for Trump, but did not and still do not think he’d be a good President. I admit it.

Now you should defy your handlers and admit the massive violent crime and incredulous lack of prosecution of violent criminals in inner city stadiums is affecting attendance. Admit it.

well it was 82 before it was 88 and now it's 91. if you keep moving them posts you're bound to connect on one of these kicks :)

next bar will be calling for the yanks to lose the WS in 6 games

apparently bar's the only person in West Florida actually watching the games (wtf is with that attendance?)

I have only "sold out" to a constant state of mental well-being

I have several family members both in law enforcement and the judicial system and none of them share your perceptions....which as I acknowledged *you* honestly believe

I'm not here to talk you out of your fears

I merely observe them with detached interest and a curiousity as to how long you might cling to them. Seems a rather sobering way to go about one's day

82, 88, 91.....95?

They'll all fall short of Rays 100+

Meanwhile the televised games of past couple months routinely lead *all* other programming across both cable and mainstream television networks so it's me and about a million pairs of eyeballs watching the games For Free

Come on down...I'll direct you to a beach front hotel and buy you and A a pair of club level tickets for $50 each so you can see a game on final homestand in two weeks

on more serious note re MLB avg attendance in a year when the majority of Americans are offering at least modest respect for the realities of a viral pandemic

Would you be surprised to learn that in 2021 only one team in MLB has averaged over 30k per game? (LAD 32k)

NYY avg 22.6k
BOS avg 19.5k
HOU avg 25.2k

SF avg 18.6k
NYM avg 19.2k

Up and down MLB, 2021 avg attendance is approx 50-60% (at Most) of 2019's numbers

#Rays no different...2021 8.4k vs 14.7k in 2019

TBAY will sell out every playoff game w 32k

And their history of approx avg 14-15k per game showed a six year spike to avg 22k when they made playoffs four years in six(2008-13)

2021 will be their third playoff year in a row but only second with fans allowed

Given that they will remain highly competitive in 2022 (only one notable player is FA in November...N Cruz) look for them to move back towards the 20k+ avg provided Floridians are collectively confident the Covid virus is under reasonable control

Yankee fans need to come to terms with fact that if the entire 26man roster were DFAd today, about a dozen men would be snapped up and the rest would clear waivers

ten weeks later, still holds up

#Yankees added Gallo and Rizzo to an already power laden lineup at the deadline. #Rays kept playing Franco & added Cruz, Luplow.

You missed quite a few points in regards to Rizzo. A clutch hitter who gives you a professional AB when the going gets tough. A WS champion who brings natural leadership, likable and respected. Gold glover and a lefty bat that brings diversity and lengthens a lineup.

Gallo, gold glover with a cannon arm. Adds athleticism and can steal you a base as he possesses some speed. Another much needed lefty bat the Yanks roster and lineup needed. Oh and the Yanks hardly gave up much and they had Texas and the Cubs vastly pickup their salaries.

Since joining the Yankees, Joey Gallo has 16 hits and 56 strikeouts.

That is un-effing believable.

His batting average is .137 and he's struck out in 48% of his at-bats.

Even his total bases--40--is fewer than his number of strikeouts.

------
A Rizzo with 12 RBI in 5 weeks since joining NY

I've come to the conclusion that you're more obsessed with the Yankees as you consistently post negativity about them instead of focusing on your own team's success. Sad. So much for your TB focus. You should attend more of your team's games and buy more merch before they depart the grapefruit league state for greener pastures.

I have been the primary fuel for a 10 page pro-Rays thread and have made a couple dozen posts re the 2021 NYY shortcomings

As noted a few days back I find most years I am lucky to preseason forecast 50%

So this year I called both the "Rays Over 84.5 wins" and "Yankees Under 95.5 wins" prior to Opening Day and I went two for two

Come on....let me enjoy the rare parlay win

Look, I understand how a club like Yankees are consistently overrated since 2003 when they won their sixth pennant in eight years

I am a lifelong fan of Dallas Cowboys and have overrated them in most all seasons since 1995 when they came off their three SB wins in four

Good for you, you will hit those. But the personal anti stats against Yankee players, team, payroll, minor league prospects, etc are very transparent and far outweigh your thread on TB Rays with a focus. You're juggernaut Rays better go back to at least the WS or this year will be considered disappointing. Besides your organization could use the attendance and funds from post season.

Tropicana Field is hands down the worst MLB stadium. It's so bad. Zero character whatsoever. Dilapidated. Located in the worst spot possible.

Nobody goes to that shit hole for a reason. It sucks.
