Loren,
You should know that the serpent wasn't a talking snake, as
explained in Revelation 20:2, where the identity of the serpent in Genesis is made explicit: <dl><dd>"The great dragon was hurled down -- that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray..."</dd></dl> This verse lends support to the view that of the serpent being Satan himself, which helps to explain, as well, why Eve was not surprised to be spoken to by the serpent - it was not a talking snake, but a beautiful and intelligent (yet evil) angelic being.
\I thought I was on ignore since I wasnt submissive....
I have even less respect for you now.

Even Less Respect For Me.....? lol..........You were on ignore but I had to click "View Post" to see what you were saying about the Serpent.....
And...feel free to go on..."Not Respecting Me...".......
Personally I don't believe anyone goes to "hell". I believe it's not a literal place. The principle of punishment is only necessary for the reform of an individual and to serve as a deterrent to bad behavior. If we are given enough lifetimes we will all develop our characters enough so that we will learn what is right and what is wrong and how to treat others accordingly. When a person turns from such behavior there is no need for punishment.
To think that certain individuals will go to everlasting punishment is to subscribe to the idea that God is not smart enough to reform an individual. It would be to admit that God does not know how to convince a person to believe in him. If you believe in an all-knowing God then no one is beyond redemtpion.
The above post nicely summarizes the feelings of many Christians who don't subscribe to the notions presented wherein God dooms the majority of humankind to everslasting pain and agony within a burning Hellfire.
The Bible is either all true. Or its false. If there is one thing that is false, it loses all credibility.
