Rice at Tulsa...Rice comes into this game fresh off a 77-20 beatdown of North Texas...But let's not forget, they suffered a beatdown of their own 52-10 the week before to Texas. This is a team that doesn't play defense. They simply don't have the manpower.. They are giving up almost 450 ypg and 34 points per game. And this has been against a relatively soft schedule. Just about every team that Rice has played have had their season high scoring total against them..And now they are playing a Tulsa team who is averaging almost 600 yards per game on offense and scoring 55 points per game..They have so many weapons on this team it isn't funny..8 different players have scored at least 2 TD's or more from this offense. They have a great running game with 2 excellent RB's. A fleet of good receivers along with another great QB in senior David Johnson. And of course they have Todd Graham, who I consider one of the top 10 coaches in the country. This team is hitting on all cylinders..Two weeks ago i was seriously considering taking New Mexico against them..NM was coming in fresh off an upset of Arizona. And they were the running dogs in that game...NM ended up not only getting outrushed, but Tulsa piled up over 600 yards and scored 56. And believe me, NM had a better defense than this 110th rated Rice squad. New Mexico also came back the next week on the road and easily defeated NMST..So I know this Tulsa team is the real deal. And if you remember, I started a thread earlier this week about who I thought was the most undervalued team in the nation..And I thought it was this Tulsa team..They have yet to be seriously recognized by the pollsters. And are still getting some value on the line... In my opinion, this team is a serious BCS contender who is not being talked about. What I think is going to happen here is pretty much what has happened in their previous games..We may see a little more scoring out of Rice than we have some of Tulsa's other opponents. But I feel about Tulsa the same way I feel about OSU..They are so good on offense that when they play the weaker teams at home, they'll get scored on. But it won't be nearly enough..I'm looking for a 59-28 type of game..Taking Tulsa in my biggest play of the week..Tulsa (-15.5) over Rice **** (Best Bet)

Not to mention that Graham and the Rice athletic department got a little snippy with each other after his sudden departure. He's an excellent coach with a reputation as something of a prick -- sort of a bargain-rate Urban Meyer -- so he'll run the score way up given half a chance. And those 11 guys that Rice charitably calls a "defense" will certainly do their part in giving chances.

I forgot to mention the ex-team angle, which as you mentioned is strong here..I knew I left something out of my writeup. One thing Graham isn't scared of, and that's scoring as many points as he can get in for a 60 minute game.

I'm looking at the Tulsa TT in addition to the spread for that reason. But, my gosh, the totals are higher than Robert Downey on a holiday weekend.

I'm not sure a 100 would be enough..I was being conservative when I said 59-28..That might be the halftime score..

Baylor steamed down to 24, Dr Bob may have given you the kiss of death here (unlikely I think Baylor comes to play @ home).

Great looking card. Already on Tulsa -14 and Iowa +9.5 BOL

You got some good early numbers on Iowa and Tulsa...If the line keeps going down in the Baylor-OU game I might possibly play a middle for 50% of my wager..My original bet on Baylor was due to the 4 TD number..This is always the key number for me when taking a big underdog. I wouldn't have played the game at 24.

Congrats on the hot start!
You have definitely helped make me some :money8:
What book do you use for your lines?
I could get most of your lines, except I could only get Baylor +25 and Tulsa -17.
Thanks and best of luck this weekend! :drink:

I primarily use Bookmaker..But I also have accounts at BoDog and an old account at SportsBetting. The Baylor game I got this morning when it was still at 27. Dr. Bob moved the Baylor line down to 25. I really don't recommend playing the game at that number. Tulsa was the same way..I got it this morning. And I bet it wasn't more than an hour after I put it in my thread that it started going up..This game i would still play at 17..But I wouldn't make it a best bet play....Good luck

Thanks for the quick response...you are a class act!
I just saw in another post that my line was different due to FDB or fuckin' Dr. Bob. :ohno:
Again, continued success and best of luck this weekend! Soumi

Oklahoma at Baylor...Several things favor Baylor in this game..And as you guys know, I like angles. It's just a matter of getting up the balls to play them. So I'm going to grow a few here....When i get on my OU team's message boards, I'm hearing the same type of score predictions over and over..56-14...63-7...49-7...etc etc...In other words it won't be close..But put yourself in OU's place. They are going down to Waco for an 11:00 am morning game. Which I've found over the years can be hard games to cover when there are big spreads involved. Then the Sooners are going to have to deal with chasing around a mobile QB Griffin. And OU has traditionally had problems with mobile QB's. And everybody else so far has had the same problems with Griffin..He reminds me alot of Pat White. Except I think this kid is a better passer..Griffin was quite a find for Art Briles..If they had started him against Wake in that first game, it might have had a much different outcome..This team has made great strides since their opener..And their offense looked very sharp when they went to UCONN for their first road game the other night..I'm also very impressed with their RB Jay Finley, who is averaging 8 ypc from this misdirection spread offense that reminds me at times of West Virginia's offense. Baylor is also coming off a bye week, and should be that much more polished with their schemes coming into this game..I feel pretty sure they'll throw some new wrinkles at OU that they haven't seen. So I definitely think we'll see some points out of Baylor in this game..This will by far be OU's biggest defensive test this year..I believe this Baylor offense has their stuff together, and will be harder to defend than the TCU, Cincy or Washington offenses OU has faced to this point. Baylor is also the borderline running dogs in this game..OU still hasn't gotten their runnning game together like I would see it heading into the Big 12 conference schedule. They average about 165 a game. While Baylor is averaging 230 rushing per game. And about 400 yards of total offense..And teams who get up around the 400 yard mark or more on offense can be very hard to cover the spread against when playing them at home. But perhaps the biggest reason that I like Baylor is OU has Texas on board next week. And can anybody think of when the Texas-OU game has been bigger the last 10 years? We'll more than likely have two undefeated top 5 teams playing each other this season in the Red River Rivalry. So with this sandwich game between TCU and Texas, I'm betting OU will just not be 100% focused in this morning game..Baylor will be well rested and ready..This is a classic sandwich-lookahead spot.......Taking Baylor (+27) over OU ***

GS, I've seen you go against the Sooners a couple of times this year. OU 3 & 0 ATS this year. I think overhyping this Baylor team. I don't know though, best of luck as always. :pope:

I like the Iowa and Tulsa picks.
The Golden Hurricanes should put a smack down on the Owls-The only thing I worry about is the spread going way up.
Iowa should be very competitive aginainst the Spartans and you always know that Mich. State always loses this kind of game at least twice per year in the Big Ten.Gl Bro-

KC.. Trentmoney had a good writeup about the Iowa-MSU game in his thread..And basically what it is is two old style Big 10 run teams going after each other..And these games end up close a majority of the time, because neither team plays the kind of style o0f football that is condusive to blowing somebody out. Plus something I didn't mention about this game is Iowa is 0-1 in conference play and MSU is 1-0...So Iowa can't afford another loss here..They should be coming in and ready to go with their "A" game. MSU RB Ringer is one of the leading RB's in the country right now. And he's run a couple 200 yard games..But he's going up against a pretty stout Iowa defensive front..I would be surprised if he got much over a 100 yards in this game.

Illinois at Michigan...This should be another close Big 10 battle...But any points I can get here I'll take. This is mainly a play against angle.. Illinois is potentially the running dogs in this spot..It's very borderline between these two teams..Plus we're talking about an Illinois team with a big QB advantage along with an offense that averages about 415 yards of offense a game to Michigan's 290. So if Michigan should find themselves behind in this game like they did last week against Wisky, they can just forget it. We have several angles coming into play for Illinois in this game..The line angle for one..What would this line have been before Illinois played Penn State and Michigan played Wisky? My guess is this game would be a pickem at best..Maybe even Illinois as slight favorites. The second angle is the possible letdown spot for Michigan after the biggest comeback in Big House history. The third angle is conference play..Illinois is now 0-1 and Michigan 1-0. So this is a big game for Illinois second road trip in a row. And a must-win for them. Other than these reasons, Illinois has had a pretty rough schedule in playing two top 5 teams Penn State and Missouri on the road..I think they are a bit more battle hardened than Michigan...It should be another close game...But I like the dogs here and I'm betting Michigan can't pull off the same feat two weeks in a row. Michigan is also terrible at turning over the ball. They had 5 last week against Wisky. And they had 6 against Notre Dame. My over/under for Michigan turning the ball over this week is 4....Illinois (+3) over Michigan **
