gl tonight. qpr brought in some really solid transfers this summer but they were awful against bottom clubs last year at home. Lost to Norwich, Wolves, Sunderland, Bolton...drew Blackburn and West Brom and hammered by Swansea to open up 2012. Crazy thing is how they play against top clubs. Drew Chelsea 2 weeks ago and last year got points here off Spurs, Liverool, Arsenal, Everton , Chelsea, and Newcastle

weird team to figure out but i think they have more quality than West Ham. Nelsen, Bosingwa, Ferdinand, Fabio, Taarabt, Park, SWP all real solid. Never cared for Hulse, Cisee, or Zamora or Johnson but I'd still put them up against Hammers' attack.

Personally always root against QPR so hope you hit this!

Roll, thanks for the feedback. Positive or negative please feel free in the future to chime in.

I agree, this was a tough one. Every preview I have read by the UK experts indicate a low scoring affair. Personally, I think this hits 3 goals but gun shy on the total because what I expect to happen is in complete contrast to the pundits who expect a nil match or one goal at he most.

A capper I like to follow has QPR winning outright and I always go against him when I have to make a final decision. LOL.

Cheers!

Woooooooo! Nice 2-0 start.

I also put 3 UNITS on West Ham +0.5 (-120). Couldn't resist especially with your writeup....

Well I was surprised that we didn't see more goals. Don't know how all the footy experts were convinced that it was going to be a low scoring 1 goal or no goal match.

Lets keep it going in October. Champions League tomorrow. Have capped some but not sure which one I will play.

Enjoy the rest of your day. C U 2 Morrow.

Chelsea vs. Norwich

Chelsea’s record is 5 wins and 1 draw. They have scored at least 2 goals in 4 of their matches and they have kept their opponents off the score sheet in 4 of those matches.

Norwich is a weak team and were drubbed at home to Liverpool 5-2 last week and lost 5-0 to Fulham week one. When they give up goals they give up plenty. Norwich are not at the level of Chelsea and with Terry back from a mid-week rest and the balance of the team playing well I don’t think Norwich have a snowball’s chance in hell.

I fully expect Chelsea to dominate today. We may see a slow start but if that is the case then the second half will be all fireworks.

Chelsea -2 (+100) 5 Units

Once again let’s keep it short and to the point.

Arsenal vs. West Ham United

· Arsenal has only allowed 1 Goal on the road this season.

· West Ham has only allowed 1 Goal at home this season.

Get the picture?

Allardyce knows just what to do to handle Arsenal's offense and Arsenal know they must defend better against set pieces if they want to stay in this match as well as mark Carroll vigorously.

Arsenal plays better if they get the opportunity to settle down in a match and control pace. The Hammers will not allow this to happen and as such a low scoring match.

8 of the last 10 EPL matches between these sides have gone Under 2.5 goals.

Arsenal vs. West Ham United Under 2.5 (+100) 4 Units

West Ham United vs. Southampton

Before I begin…..
West Ham has NOT beaten Southampton Home or Away in their last 6 matches.

Now that I cleared that up, I’m not particularly impressed with the way West Ham have managed their home record this season. They started off great but have since lost their edge.

The Saints play a very smooth open free-style of attack soccer which will throw the Hammers off their game. West Ham only managed one win since the Fulham match and that was against QPR on the road. QPR were handed a red at the 75’ and that ended all hopes for a QPR equalizer.

I firmly believe home field advantage is non-existent for West Ham, they lack the killer edge and IMHO are rather “Vanilla” at home.

Southampton has played their three (3) road matches against some pretty stiff competition; Man City, Arsenal and Everton. Although they are an inconsistent team, the break will have helped them regroup; plus, they have cut their teeth on the road this season against some stiff competition.

Only three (3) of their last fourteen (14) competitive matches for Southampton have gone below three (3) goals and the three (3) that didn’t..... hit the two (2) goal mark.

I just have a strange feeling about this match and I expect Rickie Lambert to make a statement for the Saints in what might be a winning effort on the road.

Finally: Southampton has the worst defense both home and away in the EPL allowing 20 goals. However they have netted 12 goals as well. On the road they are a -8 GD with 4 goals for and 12 against.

West Ham has not won at home since Sept. 1[SUP]st[/SUP]. They have conceded 8 goals in their last three (3) competitive matches. They play a similar freewheeling attack style and this match should be a goal scorers dream.

We should clear the 2.5 goal mark in the first half. It’s my biggest single wager to date this season. I may take the Saints on the ML small on Saturday.

Sorry for not following up earlier. It's been very busy.

No Bundesliga but will look at everything again this evening.

Varkey, it's 85% that the over 2.5 hits IMHO. All the variables add up to an over. I posted and played it early so I would not be tempted to reconsider. I see this as a sprint not a soccer match. Both clubs will be fired up and goals will happen. Neither team is a defensively built and they have a knack for scoring. They are both desperate for a win.

I may put 1 unit on a Saints win.

The ball is round, the sport is fixed (LOL), so anything is possible but it would be a really strange match if both sides laid back and played for a 0-0 draw.

I capped all the matches, I have my leans in the other matches, but this one stuck out like Dolly Parton or the Hottie in your Avatar. (;

easy enough winner in the end despite the HT score....i am sure a few lurkers counted it as a loser....EPL you just can't give up on overs at a 0-0 HT score....i am not betting it myself but i think arsenal might get at least 3 today so the over 3 at near even is mighty tempting...certainly we should screw up at least 1 goal for norwich....obviously i would love an easy 1-3 0-4 win but i think this could be a crazy 2-3 2-2 type game...

nice hit and gl rest of the weekend...i'm done capping til i finalize my move and settle in...lack of time capping is killing my bets

Very pleased with the result.

I really expected the fireworks to start early but they kept us on the edge of our seats till the second half.

Both teams played completely the opposite of what they normally play in the 1st half. It almost seemed like they were forcing themselves to play conservative tight football. However, it seems Sam had a change of heart in the locker room and told his boys to open up and they did.

I am very happy that it cashed for me and everyone who felt it was worth a shot to tag along.

Have a great day and don't spend all your money in one spot. LOL

Dial, as for Arsenal......I think they can score 3 goals today on their own. The Over is a huge public play in England at the moment but I would be happy taking The Gunners @ -1.

Either way I know you will be backing them at both ends, so I wish you and The Goons luck.

not worth its own thread so mini-highjacking but i wonder what a treble:

To Score First: WBA + Stoke + Norwich would have paid....both manchester's came back so hopefully the gooners do too...but norwich is playing the home style that usually sinks us or at least get a draw.

Dial, I didn't watch the match but just saw the result.

Crazy, but the Over was a huge public play (as I mentioned) and that is at times the kiss of death.

The break helps some and hurts others. The Gunners were rolling until the break.

They'll pick it up again.

Happy to help, thanks for showing the confidence to pull the trigger on the Over with me.

Can't win them all but I would love to win most and the big ones.

Hope to add some more winners next week. See you in the NFL thread tomorrow.
