unfortunately i did take the time to watch the match and i must say this might have been the worst arsenal display in 10 years. You can tell 10 mins in it was going to be a long day. If clubs at home play the style norwich does which is jam the middle with everyone we have no idea what to do esp without walcott and alex chamberlain managed to play 6-7 mins....maybe more but he got hurt 2 mins after he came into the match.

I know my fellow gooners will say 14 players on international leave and schalke midweek we overlooked or just weren't prepared for today but that's the difference between citeh and us...i'm sure city had more players away and certianly their CL match is bigger and WBA hadn't lost at home....so they win and we lose...that's why they win titles and we struggle to make europe....oh well.....that's why i don't bet my club

gl tomorrow if you play anything....

Yup, Arsenal wasn't there today. For whatever reason, they never showed up. They couldn't maintain any sort of pressure and were handled by arguably the worst club in the Premier League. Hate to see em like that, they better bounce back in CL this week. I'm getting sick of their slow starts every year.

Manchester City vs. Swansea

12:30pm ET

I backed City in the CL match against Ajax and was personally shocked at their dismal performance. With the talent pool they have it is unacceptable. In fact, it’s a really weird City team at the moment. They are completely out of sync defensively and I am certain Mancini is pleading for a more defensive style of play that made them successful last season. They must get better at the back or face further disappointment in the CL and the EPL.

What’s really shocking is that they have only managed one clean sheet in their last 13 competitive matches this season. They have gone over 2.5 goals in 10 of those 13 matches.

Back in Wales there seems to be rumors of discontent amongst the players and Landrup, which he flatly denies. I think there is substance to those rumors, that he is on a short leash and he is desperately doing his best to get the results they expect from him to avoid any possible player mutiny.

The Swans have also gone over 2.5 goals in 8 of their last 10 competitive matches this season.

To think that City can turn things around defensively in a couple of days is foolish and to add insult to injury, they seem to be missing substance in the midfield as well.

I expect we will see a wide open match develop after a quick goal from the Swans. Let’s face it; both clubs have the ability to attack and the inability to defend. I really like the +2 AH for Swansea too, as I see this game being won at the death by City 3-2. The over comes with a steep price, but in the end if it hits it really doesn’t matter does it?

I'm really curious to hear from City's Inside Man "Cocktailsnlongshots" and his take on the match.

This has been one of the most frustrating matches I have watched all season. Neither team wants to be the agressor.

Sometimes when you put two terrible teams together you get complacency and a total disaster.

City fooled me once, shame on you but they fooled me twice today....shame on me. I will be pounding any and all matches going forward against the Citzens until they can shake things up.

It must be a terrible atmosphere in the dressing room when all they can focus on is their fat paychecks. LOL.

Moving on as I can tell you all most assuredly that this match will end with 1 goal. LOL. :)

They have no chemistry. They just throw a bunch of individuals with skill on the pitch and hope they figure it out. Well, news flash Mancini, they won't! Especially not when he fields a new lineup, new back four and new striker groupings every week. City are a bunch of good players, but that's it. Individual talent, no team talent. They will finish outside the top four this year in my opinion.

Manchester United vs. Arsenal
Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012
8:45am ET

I love this match-up. Statistically the Gunners are the best defense in the league and United are one of the worst.

Man U’s defense has been awful and non-existent for a top four club and they lack a strong central midfield. Arsenal has Giroud and Podolski but many clubs have figured out that if they contain Carzola you stop the Arsenal attack. Man U has surely figured this out too.

I think Arsenal’s play will result in opportunities that will create chances to score a goal or two; but will they, is the question? Considering that United’s defense is probably the worst I have ever witnessed or can remember and they can’t be trusted …. My answer is YES!

Arsenal should play an open style of football, and IMHO, if either team gets a goal in the first 10 minutes….LOOK OUT! The goals will come and plenty.

In fairness to Man U, Arsenal looked like crap against Norwich in their last away match and they lack an abundance of creativity lately that is needed to win this match.

I like Man U a lot in this match up, almost enough to back them. United have plenty of FIRE POWER and they don’t care if they get two goals scored on them because they will score three. It’s a great never say die spirit. They have had to come from behind at the off in 6 of the 9 EPL matches they played and are still only 1 point back of top spot. RVP and Rooney are also playing great and Valencia is now back.

The way United have been performing defensively makes me nervous. I don’t want to be caught backing them against a top four club as a result of their technical performance. So the OVER seems like a given here, since Man U look like relegation candidates defensively and Arsenal have been slumping lately.

Manchester United has gone over 2.5 goals in 12 of 14 matches this season.

It’s The BEST Defense (Arsenal) vs. The Best Offense (Man U)

Arsenal are in a really bad place right now. Wish I took Man U on the ML (-140).

How in God's name are Arsenal going to beat Shalke in Germany Tuesday playing like the contents of my septic tank at the cottage???

Arsenal with two shots on goal and against a terrible defense. Thank you Mr. Carzola.

Should be a disappointing November for the Gunners with the schedule they face and the shape they are in.

Well I feel cheated by the FIX thanks to Webb's AR who was on the take calling an offside on a Hammer's goal.

City has paid off the AR's all season long and that's the only way they know how to stay in a match.

Sour grapes on my part I guess, greedy I guess, but WTF I have to speak my mind. Broke even on this match.

Total BS on the AR's offside. Total BS.

yeah - that goal counts and the total probably sails over.....what a terrible call. I like the idea that the NFL has as far as all scores are reviews...what is the harm for a 5th official to look at 2 replies and say onside and goal counts....one day i guess.

Liverpool vs. Newcastle United

Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012

11:00am ET

This looks like a tough match to call between unpredictable sides…..or is it?

Liverpool is off their game and quite undependable under Rodgers and Newcastle can’t score or win for that matter at Anfield.

Newcastle has scored one goal in their last six visits to Anfield and that was an OG last season in a losing effort. By the way the last time they beat Liverpool on the road was during the 95/96 season.

In the end, I am looking at the stats and it seems that The Reds have netted two or more goals in each of the last seven matches versus Newcastle at home. Now The Toon has scored five goals in their last three road matches.

Not convinced that Liverpool has their act together just yet so here goes. I like the draw option today. This season with opposing favorites and underdogs of between 6.0 and 8.0……..we find that the underdogs have gone 3-3-4. The past three seasons the results are 16-39-81. Therefore, the Draw occurs twice as often as an underdog winning at this price point.

West Bromwich Albion vs. Southampton
Monday, Nov. 5, 2012
3:00pm ET

This is a matchup between a team that can’t win on the road (SHT) and a team that can only win at home (WBA)

WBA have played 5 matches at home this season and have won 80% of them. They actually had the lead against City in their last home match but conceded two late goals. (This is very disappointing because we all know Man City SUCKS) In fact the Baggies have scored 10 goals and only conceded 4 goals at home with three clean sheets this season.

West Bromwich’s HOME Results
Oct 20 West Bromwich 1-2 Manchester City
Oct 06 West Bromwich 3-2 QPR
Sep 22 West Bromwich 1-0 Reading
Sep 01 West Bromwich 2-0 Everton
Aug 18 West Bromwich 3-0 Liverpool

The Saints are horrible on the road, losing all four matches they have played in the EPL and conceding 16 goals while scoring 5 goals for a -11 GD.

Southampton’s AWAY Results
Oct 20 Southampton 1-4 West Ham United
Sep 29 Southampton 1-3 Everton
Sep 15 Southampton 1-6 Arsenal
Aug 19 Southampton 2-3 Manchester City

The Baggies are playing well at home this season and let’s face facts; The Saints give up too many goals on the road to be a threat. Now I do expect them to score one goal on WBA Monday. The Baggies have conceded two goals in each of their last three matches so this is possible.

It’s a weird game where everyone expects to see goals and yet I wonder if the old adage applies here: “When you put two high scoring teams together you get a low scoring game.”

I know the pundits’ and EPL experts are predicting goals and rightly so; yet I can’t ignore the fact that The Saints absolutely suck on the road. I know Nigel Adkins is under pressure and rested all his starters against Leeds on Wednesday in Cup play; hoping they can get a good effort Monday. I just can’t see how that’s going to be enough.

I believe WBA are a Next Level Club at the Hawthorne’s where they have played some of their best soccer this season. As for the Saints, allowing West Ham and Leeds to net 7 goals on you while only responding with one goal in their last two road matches tells me to stay away.

The Baggies should take this match by at least 2 goals.

West Bromwich Albion -0.5 (-140)
