A, if you happen to be someone who believes in only one, literal interpretation of the Holy Bible, it's not surprising that the interpretations shared by other sects of Christianity might not fit your experience
As for "authority", I personally cite no omnipresent authority in how I've come to understand the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Finally, yes I do find both the NT to be a very useful collection of philosophy and counsel on living a healthy spiritual life. But it's by no means my only guide for living.
I'll note that we're wandering way off the track of the originally posted Topic of Homosexuals who practice Christian principles.

You forgot that in between my years as a Mormon (born and raised) I also logged time with the Southern Baptists, a couple of Methodist congregations and even spent a few months in summer 1984 with a Pentacostal congregation in East Texas.
Admittedly, the Babtists and those Pentacostals put a fair amount of bend into my brain. But thankfully I overcame it and have been a grateful Christian member of Unity since 1994.
And for the record have not used cocaine or amphetamines in 13+ years now and have not abused alcohol in 16 years now.
But you already knew all that.

For the record, I never claimed to be divine...my bestiality lusting comrade. Its very telling if you read my post back there fella. In it, i gave the reasons why the debate itself is flawed. Its flawed because the people having the debate are coming from two separate mindsets but both trying to prove the other wrong. In that quote Jesus says that God "hid these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes". Meaning that people as they grow older become critical thinkers based on logic yet are pessimistic and more distrusting while people who are young are able to be more trusting and be more believable because they are more "pure" for the lack of a better word. One is not more intelligent then the other. One just happens to be more abstract then the other.
