My point is this .... If Penn State is the pride of the Tiny 10 as you say and Pete Carroll is a fraud..... I will put up $ 1000 on USC should they meet in the Rose Bowl this year. If Penn State is as good as you say and Carroll is a total fraud, this should be a wager that you should want to jump at ! No points... Just let the winner collect !
Are you USC idiots ever going to get it? Are you going to keep arguing against things we're not arguing?
Carroll is not a great coach because he doesn't get his players up against BAD teams. He gets his players ready against good teams, but any coach can do that.
Please read! Carroll lost again when he was more than a 25 point favorite. That's flat out embarrassing. You guys can continue to defend him and he'll continue to lose to lesser foes.
Lets review for you USC fans.
1. Penn State hasn't played anyone and I'm supposed to get back to you when they play someone; yet they beat Oregon State, who beat USC, 45-14 two weeks ago.
2. The Pac-10 is such a tough conference and that's why USC lost, but the Big Ten is awful even though PSU, who is a part of the little 10, beat Oregon State who is in the tough conference. Oregon State then beat the elite USC. So how elite is PSU?
3. Pete Carroll has lost two games in the past two seasons when he was a 25 point favorite or more. Two of maybe the 10 biggest upsets in college football history have happened against Pete Carroll at USC. No one argues that Carroll doesn't know how to win the big game, but everyone with two eyes and a brain can see that he's a shitty motivator when his team is getting ready for a game they should easily win.
4. Pete Carroll is not as good of a big game coach as Joe Paterno, and he doesn't get his players ready for small games like Paterno does. Despite the fact that Paterno has more bowl wins, the best bowl record, and more undefeated seasons than anyone, I think, he's not as good of a coach as Carroll some how.
5. USC is the most talented team in the nation and there is no question about that. Their problem is they don't have a coach that motivates them for games they should win. You would think USC fans would be mad at Carroll instead of defending him, but they seem as lackadaisical about losing games they should easily win as Carroll does going into them.
Hopefully those points will click to some.
