Did they win them all like USC would have ?

Nope. I will say that the Pac-10 usually does pretty well out of conference. And over the past five years there is only one other legitimate argument for best team other than USC.

This year though the Pac-10 is way way down and this loss by USC should put them out of it. With the strength of the Big XII and SEC, a one-loss Big XII or SEC team in likelihood gets in ahead of USC.

Fact is we can all have our opinions about what happened and who would beat who and who is beter then whoever. Oregon St played great last night and would have manhandeled alot of top 10 teams in Corvallis last night. All you had to do was watch the game

Don't know or care. But Bozo the Carroll is a fraud!:pope:

:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool:dancefool
My point is this .... If Penn State is the pride of the Tiny 10 as you say and Pete Carroll is a fraud..... I will put up $ 1000 on USC should they meet in the Rose Bowl this year. If Penn State is as good as you say and Carroll is a total fraud, this should be a wager that you should want to jump at ! No points... Just let the winner collect !

Are you USC idiots ever going to get it? Are you going to keep arguing against things we're not arguing?

Carroll is not a great coach because he doesn't get his players up against BAD teams. He gets his players ready against good teams, but any coach can do that.

Please read! Carroll lost again when he was more than a 25 point favorite. That's flat out embarrassing. You guys can continue to defend him and he'll continue to lose to lesser foes.

Lets review for you USC fans.

1. Penn State hasn't played anyone and I'm supposed to get back to you when they play someone; yet they beat Oregon State, who beat USC, 45-14 two weeks ago.

2. The Pac-10 is such a tough conference and that's why USC lost, but the Big Ten is awful even though PSU, who is a part of the little 10, beat Oregon State who is in the tough conference. Oregon State then beat the elite USC. So how elite is PSU?

3. Pete Carroll has lost two games in the past two seasons when he was a 25 point favorite or more. Two of maybe the 10 biggest upsets in college football history have happened against Pete Carroll at USC. No one argues that Carroll doesn't know how to win the big game, but everyone with two eyes and a brain can see that he's a shitty motivator when his team is getting ready for a game they should easily win.

4. Pete Carroll is not as good of a big game coach as Joe Paterno, and he doesn't get his players ready for small games like Paterno does. Despite the fact that Paterno has more bowl wins, the best bowl record, and more undefeated seasons than anyone, I think, he's not as good of a coach as Carroll some how.

5. USC is the most talented team in the nation and there is no question about that. Their problem is they don't have a coach that motivates them for games they should win. You would think USC fans would be mad at Carroll instead of defending him, but they seem as lackadaisical about losing games they should easily win as Carroll does going into them.

Hopefully those points will click to some.

Paterno has had 5 unbeaten seasons in his career, when Pete can do that, let me know.

Someone who played for PSU, Redskins and Niners under JoPa, Gibbs, and Walsh said he would take JoPa in a 1 game situation.

Forget motivation. We know by now he sucks at that. Don't his supposedly talented players have any pride? Or maybe they aren't being put in the right positions -which of course goes back to poor coaching. Even Malauga after the game last night said "We had no answer for their zone run play". That falls on the coach, especially one who supposedly specializes in defense

Put your money where your mouth is if Penn State meets up with USC in the Rose Bowl. USC will destroy them by double digits

Which means what? That Bozo the Carroll's team shit another potential national championship team down the crapper? USC better win every Rose Bowl they play in (home game!). Enjoy your meaningless Rose Bowl. Start getting ready for Stanford and stop worrying about Penn State

WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND. READ THE FUCKING POST! Are you special? Are you related to the clown?

I actually do think PSU would give them a game, and if it was a Bowl game there is no chance they'd destroy PSU. Joe Paterno and Bradley are the best big game coaches in college football. That's why they win Bowl Games they should win, and games they shouldn't win.

I never said that Pete Carroll doesn't get his kids ready for big games clown. Not once!

I said I'd like to see them play because I think they could hold their own against USC. I think they match up very well against them. I'm not sure who'd win the game but I know it wouldn't be a blow out. Paterno and Bradley could out coach Carroll without any tape. I wish Carroll recruited for PSU but I wouldn't want him coaching my team against lesser foes.

Hell if PSU was a 25 point dog I bet we'd take it easy.

Oh and it's bullshit that the Big Ten has to travel to California to play in the Rose Bowl. Makes no sense. Never has.

Why don't you just get out of The Rose Bowl then if it doesn't make sense. USC- P.St would be a blow out and you know it. Hopefully for your sake you won't have too. You can go thru that pathetic BIg Ten schedule and maybe meet an overrated SEC team in Bowl game Like you did recently against Tennessee. Still haven't won a meaningful game in 10 years. Oregon St. wasn't meaningful either and you would have lost that game last night too in Corvallis. You do realize results change quite a bit when you change the venue. Another thing , whatever game Carroll loses he is going to get critized for. Thats the bar he has set. You can't knock him for big games so you knock him when he loses as a favorite.

Yeah that intimidating home field adv OSU had last nite with a half empty upper deck was the difference. Gimme a break. So many excuses for USC. USC doesn't know what it means to play in a tough venue on a week-to-week basis. If they were playing a real team last nite or in a tough environment they wouldn't have had the chance to get back in the game

Why don't you come back to me when Penn State sniffs a national title as winning an overrated conference just to get smacked by USC if they meet is not something to get worked up for.

You talk a big game considering Oregon State when into Happy Valley shorthanded on the OL.

What an idiotic statement to make. You must be one of the idiots (surprise surprise there) who think stadium size equals how tough a place is to play. Just ask the teams that have played in Corvallis how tough it is or going to Autzen stadium which has seen its share of OOC teams go down there. Lets see off the top of my head that list would include over the last 6 years:

Mississippi State
Fresno State
Michigan
Indiana
Oklahoma

So now point spreads determine the quality of opponents. Is that your latest road to try & help your idiotic rants? Tell me how has USC done against the other top conferences under Pete again? I mean the OOC teams are not giving them much of an issue. Unlike the teams you swear by who play cupcakes OOC, USC plays legitimate teams & beats just about all of them & the rare times it loses, it is them playing subpar as to actually being dominated. NO ONE has dominated USC since Pete has been there.

As far as Joe Pa is concerned, look who the hell his teams play. Over the last # of years their OOC games include:

Central Florida

Louisiana Tech

Nebraska

Virginia

Temple

Boston College

Kent State

Akron

South Florida

Cincinnati

Notre Dame

Youngstown State

Florida International

Buffalo

Coastal Carolina

Syracuse

Oregon State

I mean lets be real here, the OOC is not impressive. In the year they went 11-1 it was a complete fraud as they played only 3 ranked teams in the regular season.

No one should. He recruits thugs and criminals, pays them, does their homework for them. Hell yeah point spreads determine quality of opponents. Name a coach who has ever lost outright TWICE as a fav so big
