Yes many of the police forces in the nicer suburbs have a much better caliber, much more highly paid cop.

Mayors know the citizens there demand to be safe. So they pay for and get plenty of much much better policemen. Citizens pay higher taxes, but can drive around, shop, go places, take their children to and from school very safely.

Ironically these cops have a lot less crime to deal with, especially violent crime, but get paid more.

But the same people go to a sporting event or something in the inner city are now reluctant to go, if they do the men often now carry firearms when entering those areas though they are better protected than the rest of the inner city areas; can't have people go to a MLB game and get carjacked and shot a 1/2 mile from the stadium.

I didn’t take a particular stance on this other than saying it was justified but cops need to be retrained because I agree with another poster saying it’s nice if something harmless doesn’t end in death. Cops in cities/major metro areas usually make more than cops in the suburbs. Maybe like Beverly Hills or somewhere that is very affluent/wealthy it is different but for the most part it is the other way around. Same for teachers.

Otherwise pretty much no one would go that route.

Watching the Atlanta mayor speak, who summarily fired the officer without any due process, was like listening to a junior high school student. Clearly not the brightest bulb. The city leaders should speak out to black Americans and remind them that it is not acceptable to tackle police officers, punch officers, and violently resist police officers. I heard the idiots at the scene yelling that the police were harassing the black man. Oops, the police were responding to a 911 call of a car blocking the drive thru. The guy was obviously drunk, failed a roadside sobriety test and in fact blew .109 BAL and was being lawfully arrested.
