echoes what I said weeks ago that cops are woefully undertrained and feel invincible with the gun and badge. That gun and badge scare 95% of us to be law-abiding citizens and compliant during interactions with police. But that other 5% of the time, when a drunk/high/angry person is confronted (usually a man), they haven't faced that issue in months or years and have no training to properly handle the situation.
their training consists of 90 days at a police academy and and average of 3 hours/year in diffusing situations and proper hand-to-hand combat training. But if you ban chokeholds, knees to neck or back, and other restraints that work very well you're taking away some needed practices and forcing them to grab for their gun or taser, thus increasing future cop shootings. properly training those restraints is the answer.
taking money away from police training is the exact opposite solution to the problem...which is why the far left is pushing this so much. this doesn't end well
