Uh.....you know nothing about how and why presidents get elected. It has nothing to do with 1871 or job plans.

The lifer repubs like you will vote for the repub nominee even if his last name is Bin Laden.

Only wackjobs like Joe thinks somebody like Ted Cruz could win a national election. The further right the candidate is the less chance he has. You think Romney and McCain lost big??? Nominate Cruz or Trump.....they will not win any crucial state needed.....Florida and Ohio both out....and neither of them can turn a blue state to red.

this is correct, Ted Cruz has ZERO chance! Trump has almost no chance. The more far right the less appeal they have.

This isn't a Trump thread and I've said I'm fine with him being in the race as long as he doesn't win but it is funny when Obama has misguided interventionist economic policies that he is viewed as everything from an "economic lightweight" to "socialist"

However when Trump says Nissan and Ford will do what he says and they won't build plants in Mexico because he will tax the shit out of them, it is "tough talk" "shooting from the hip" "speaking truth to power"

Yet a Rubio tax credit is a dealbreaker?

It's not a matter of arguing the merits of pro-growth or anti-growth, it's Rubio's annoying impulse of trying to social engineer everything. If you don't want Obama doing it, you sure as hell can't turn around and approve Rubio doing it. Ditto for his amnesty policies. Everything this guy does screams Big Government.

So Big Government is okay so long as Republicans are in control? Uh, no. That may be how the GOPe views it, but not small government conservatives/libertarians who sat out 08 and 12.

I don't want some caretaker RINO president to "tinker around the edges" only for the next far leftist to come in and find even more creative and destructive ways to use the government's power and institutions against the people.

I want to begin the process of scrapping these unconstitutional institutions and agencies altogether so the next 'Obama' is largely impotent and unable to carry out his socialist impulses.

I want - gasp! - a restoration of constitutional government.

If we're "beyond that" politically, fine...then we can start discussing other strategies to tame the beast, like peaceful civil disobedience.

Don't agree with all of this, but worth reading

Did you like George W. Bush? Then you'll love Marco Rubio

Rubio further contends, like George W. Bush, that the promotion of American "values" will reliably work to extend American interests. What this means in practice is three things: 1) an added dose of hypocrisy to any American foreign policy decision in which there are no liberal counterparties, like, say, forming an anti-ISIS coalition in the Middle East; 2) an exaggeration of the importance and revolutionary potential of liberal political movements around the globe; and 3) an enticement to potential rebels, of whatever stripe, to falsely dress their bid for power in the rhetoric of Western liberalism and the colors of the American flag, in the hope of receiving American aid or, better yet, air support.

Here's a question for all Republican candidates, especially "small government conservatives" like Marco Rubio:

"You say you're for limited constitutional government. Right now the federal government is so massive it doesn't even know how many agencies it has and 99% of Americans couldn't name 5 of them. How many agencies not listed in the enumerated powers are you prepared to shut down, unilaterally by executive order if necessary?

But noooooooooo.

Instead we get juvenile RINO questions from "right wing" Fox like:

"How many of you will pledge not to run as an independent?"

and...

"How many of you believe in Climate Change?"

vtard, BP and all the other brainless libtard clapping seals: candidates who are too "far right" have no appeal! :pointer:

No, candidates with the ability to blow the gaystream media narrative and agenda out of the water and focus on what's important have MASSIVE appeal - why Donald Trump is soaring.

You are a Fringe right wing nut who is
out of touch with reality and the average voter. A far right wing candidate has no chance, I don't like everything Rubio is about but he has some good qualities. Trump's mouth will do him in and a guy like Cruz would be wiped out in a landslide. You don't understand that,

How about $1k I'll take Rubio as next POTUS, you take Trump. If neither win, no blood. Deal?

I certainly respect your opinion. You aren't just checking the box based on a letter. More principled than most that just fall into the lesser of two evils choice.

I can't really speak to his stance on these institutions and agencies. Some I agree with closing (Planned Parenthood, atleast change Fed policy if not close it which Cruz is way more likely to be for than Rubio) some I don't want closed (FDA, EPA) regardless of their potential for future misuse.

Also @AceBB I don't have much of an opinion on his FP yet other than to say he seems to be an Iran hardliner and atleast he understands that the interaction with China is really the big elephant and major issue on the horizon. He does seem like he wants to start some new fires. Cuba, Nicaragua...Leave that shit alone.

My support for him comes from his forward thinking economic issues for new times. This is the #1 reason everyone should support him. Even Vitterd is gonna vote for him.

Let's make you useful today and tap the brain of your electoral college knowledge.

Which states do you see taking +/-'s compared to the '12 map and how much?

TX, NV, AZ, FL should all be taking big pluses. With the real estate market stabilizing in those areas and the economy being better than 09-12, population growth has begun to go back to the 05-08 levels where the country was continuing its migration from North and East to South and West (although don't believe CA is expanding)

This should help red states but how much? TX gets another 4-5 votes, FL another 3, NV 1, AZ 1 that would knock a few swing states that the GOP doesn't need to pickup.

What do you think?

Disregard....Some reason I was thinking there would be a census adjustment in 2016, I don't know why.

It isn't until 2020. That will be interesting if migration trends stay the same. Would be a boon to red states if they can maintain redness.

It could be as much as a 30 electoral vote swing. Basically =ing the significance of Michigan

Oh look at what the left-wing liberal feminazi gaystream commufascist Alinsky radicalized smear machine has comeup with to brainwash their constituents.
Times reporters watched and analyzed the prime-time G.O.P. debate and the preliminary contest. The Times also chatted about the debate and provided fact checks.

In Fact | Marco Rubio Says Amazon Is the Largest Retailer, but It’s Not

Senator Marco Rubio noted that Amazon.com is the largest retailer in the country.
Actually, the National Retail Federation gives that honor to Walmart Stores, with $343.6 billion in U.S. sales in 2014.
By comparison, Amazon was ninth in 2014, with $49.4 billion in retail sales. Walmart was also first in worldwide sales among U.S. retailers, at $508.5 billion in 2014. Amazon was fourth worldwide at $83.4 billion.

Hey dumbass, he clearly meant market capitalization and not sales. If you weren't a commie socialist helpbent on transforming us to a welfare state, you would check stock quotes once every few months to know that.
