good to see you are still with us, hognuts; you've been missed; hope you're having a nice holiday; lived in berea, taught at the college for 6 years but have moved to Morehead; wish i'd known you then, maybe we could have gotten "fit" together and shared the pain, it's so difficult to lose the weight and keep it off, we just have to keep trying and at the same time keep our sanity; just hang in there and keep in touch; good luck on january 1 (that's a good starting date)

hog, i walked soccer field area many times, walked steps at college and, yes, the pinnacle; i am a nature lover by heart and could live at the pinnacle; you live on a very busy highway; you might want to try walking the track at the colege and also walking area around high school, those are nice areas also; the art center close to the interstate has nice walking area that goes toward town, you can get some miles there also; the college offers nice atmosphere for walking; you might also want to check into the seabury center, although you mentioned you already belonged to a gym; i cannot handle indoor exercise, walk in all types of weather, sometimes just get soaked with water but that's the way i like it, just can't beat nature's way of taking care of us!! come to berea usually once or twice a month, maybe in can meet you at coffee shop and we can share our ideas on weight loss; going to parent's house for weekend, they live in Chicago and talk about walking areas, there are so many; i'm looking forward to walking at least 5 miles/day; enjoy your weekend and check out some of these berea walking areas; berea is a great little town to live in

Hognuts....sorry, I am at 293....don't know why I said 285, but I am working hard....My trainer said that the heart rate is very important and that the more you walk, the more blood can circulate thru your entire body which makes for stronger legs and heart....after two months with him controlling my pace during walking, he has me jogging for about 10 minutes at a time...he says the weight should melt off when jogging, but still be careful with the diet....he also stressed the importance of walking hills like you do now, builds endurance and stamina...it really does get easier as you go along....talk to you later....

viejo, thanks for relaying what your trainer had to say,i understand makinga mistake re your current weight,if you are like me you set all kinds of small goals and sometimes i get ahead of myself,,re the hills, last night i was walkin up and downhill backwards for a hundred paces or so just to take a break, hehehe,,as to sleepin,if im goin to bet on a game, ive learned to do it early,i never know when im goin to fall asleep,,since ive been walkin,if i get sleepy i dont try and stay awake to watch the games, these damned games have been way too high on my priority list, thats why im fkn obese,,im glad you have started writin down your results,,for a while there i felt like i was the only one workin my ass off!,,ps the back of my legs were a bit stiff durin my walk last night, ive been doin a few new stretches today and they feel some better,,might have to postpone walk til in the mornin,i hope not cause i like to walk thru my little town between 12 and 5am,you can literally walk in the middle of the road and about the only thing you will see is a cop about every 30 minutes

day 4...well i parked at walmart again and went in to get some peppers, green, orange, red and yellow with some baby spinach thrown in,i just happened to be there at 12 and the girl was pourin everybody some knd of cheap grape stuff and i had a small glass, just to be friendly,,i never drink crap like that cause its nothin but sugar and it will probably be 2008 before i do it again, didnt care for the sweet taste at all,the closest i come to sugar is puttin splenda in my decaf...calves were tight when i started out so after 15 minutes i stopped for 5 and did some stretches,it worked so well i stopped 3 more times during my walk and did same,if i dont loosen up im goin to do that every night,i know that im not as stiff today as i was yesterday...i got back on the hills last night and as always when i take abreak from them i felt myself just a bit stronger than the last time i did them,on a couple pretty good sized hills i didnt need to stop on either of em,that is highly motivating for this fat man,, when i first started walkin i could only do 10 minutes on the track below the seabury center,(LEVEL) i was out for one hundred and thirty five minutes,,i must subtract 20 minutes from that for stretchin....i must say that when i finish walkin im fkn starvin,,from what i have read on the net that is normal, the only thing i have pre walk is water and decaf,,writin all this has wore me out,im gonna take a fkn nap,,hehehe
