parked at shell station,walked down south dogwood to flatgap'full gospel' baptist church,and back..2 hours and 10 minutes..day 27 in the books,with only 3 to go...been thinkin about my feb goal,dont know if i can make it in 1 month,but ill never know if i dont try....drumroll....to walk from berea to richmond,on the interstate..YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHA!!...app 12 or 13 miles....how long would it take hognuts to get in good enough shape to do it?....1st of feb,might start measurin my distance..maybe i could train for 30 days(feb) then plan on attempting the walk on the 1st of march...just thinkin out loud,maybe this will pass,hehehe....'keep the continue

today,was one nasty fkn day.rain,rain,and more rain...buut,i got er done.2hrs and 15 minutes out in that crap.when you set a goal,or challenge yerself,you either do it or ye dont,excuses dont mean shit...by the time i finished,legs were very tired,so ive got a long way to go..one reason for bein tired is the hills,if there were no hills,i could take off fresh,and do 3 hrs....i really need to get on some level land(like the bike trail)and see how long i can go..also,.probably need to give the legs a break..been readin a book written by some folks who walked the appalachian trail,its amazin what you can do,if you just stfu and do it.these people walked for 6 months,yes,6 FKN MONTHS thru rain,snow,etc.....day 29 is in the books,only one day to go,and i must say that i feel a lot stronger than i did on the 1st of jan...still thinkin about a challenge for feb..might just hike as far as i can,but take every other day off,and build up strength,cause sooner or later,im goin to walk from berea to richmond,or die tryin.....time for some soupbeans,cornbread,and a pot of folgers decaf!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHA,DY 30 IS HERE!!!...22 degrees...nothin like a good 30 day challenge,to get yer attention..dont know where i'll walk today,but i do know i'll probably take 2mor off,and start a new challenge on feb 1st...need to go measure how far im walkin,(flat land)but the 1/4 mile track bores me to death.. thinkin about drivin up to interstate and measurin off 3 miles,toward richmond..round trip would be 6 miles,which would be half way to richmond,if i kept on goin,instead of turnin around...or,just measure it in steps..'keep the continue'

38 dgrees..if i walk today,goal will be 2 hrs and 20 minutes..was plannin on waiti til the 1st,but im sort of gettin the itch....have decided that feb goal will be to walk for 3 consecutive hrs,goin to add 5 minutes every day,til i get 180 minutes...also,as the sessios get longer,dont knw if i'll be able to continue goin out every other day,there could be a time when the legs need more than 1 day to recuperate..what it boils down to is: in oreder to walk from berea to richmond,i need to build up endurance,and the only way to do that is STRESS AND REST..when ye do too much,it just wears your body down,there's a fine line between too much,and not enough.....might drive to berea college track,and do a mile there,just to stay loose...been spendin quite a bit of time,studyin marathon walkin,and what i found out is it takes time to get stronger,and that sucks,i want to do i right now.hehehe....by march 1st,i expect to be in condition to walk to ricmond....'keep the continue'

day 1,of the feb challenge,33 degrees,but wind is blowin hard enough to almost knock ye down,and im havin car trouble...hmmmmm,sounds like a lot of excuses..gonna have some coffee,and check things out..goal today is 2hrs:20 minutes,right now its not lookin good..'keep the continue'

day 1 of this months challenge is in the books,and i started things off with a bang..first off,im very proud of myself for goin out the last two days,some of the worst weather,very high winds,rain,snow,etc,you have to be highly motivated or crazy, to go out in this crap......parked at the bank and decided i'd see how much of this weather i could handle,but after i was out there for the first 30 minutes,i got accustomed to it and said fk it,im gonna do some hikin!...did the bike trail,and the 1/4 mile track,at the college..TWO HOURS AND 42 MINUTES..YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHA...i probably wont be able to fet up 2mor,but thats ok,i got er done today..im expectin to walk again sunday,but if i wake up tired,ill wait til monday..got to remember one thing about exercise that ive learned,STRESS AND REST..the experts say you should only increase yer alkin by 10% per week,and i increased mine by 20% today,we'll see what happens,but i think the legs will be fine because ive been doin this for so long..one things for sure,after the 2 hr mark,i slowed down quite a bit,hehehe...while walkin today,i began to think,at what point will i attempt the walk to richmond? my thinkin right now is,when i can do 3 hrs: 15 minutes,and still have a little somethin left in the tank,im gonna go for it..have no idea when that'll be....was also thinkin today that all those fkn hills ive climbed,are beginnin to pay off.....buut,who knows,i might not be able to get out of this recliner 2mor,hehehe......ive never experienced anything as liberating and exciting as bein out on the road......'keep the continue'

No prob. Would you mind sharing your starting weight before all this walking, and where you're at now?
hippiekiller,started at 295,got down to 225,began to focus more on strength trainin and gained some back..thought the weights would help to slim down,but it didnt,still glad i started because i feel so much better,have gained some upper body muscle,but stomach is still lower than it should be,hehehe,but i feel like a different person now....since i was a kid,ive always thoughthow much fun it'd be to walk fro one of these small towns to the other one,and nw im gonna do it..alcoholics annonymos taught me that you can do a lot of things you think you cant,if you'll just stfu,and do what you're supposed to do,cant wait to try that long walk..my goal is 200 pounds,not goin to weigh again til the 1st of april...'keep the continue'

day 2 of fab challenge, made it to the mailbox and back,hehehe..that'll be about all the cardio i get for today,gonna drink a lot of water,play some guitar,and chill,cause my ass is draggin..feet were sore last night,but much better today,i plan on goin for 2 hrs:45 minutes 2mor..'keep the continue'

day 3 of challenge is here,and its an absolutely perfect day for a hike,51 degrees,and no wind..when i woke up this superbowl mornin,my first thought was,has my body recovered from friday,and am i strong enough to improve on 2hrs:42 minutes,and not who will win the game,and that is progress..really wont know if ive had enough rest til i get out there.if im sluggish,ill make it a 30 minute session and head back to the house.if not,im gonna try for 2hrs:50 minutes...'keep the continue'

parked at walmart,walked to the artisan center and back...3 HOURS:1 MINUTE!! im tellin ye,3 hrs is a long time to walk,everything on me is hurtin,hehehe...the bad part wasnt the walk,but when i had finished and got back to my car,i remembered that i needed some popcorn and grapefruit,for superbowl snack..of course,everybody in this little town was at walmart..whewww..finally made it to the recliner,and that where ill be for the duration....i expect to be ready again tuesday,hope i dont need to take more than one day off...so far,im pleased with the way things are progressin.in other words,BY MARCH 1ST,I WILL KICK THAT 13 MILES ASS,hehehe.....im ready for some football..'keep the continue'

day 4 of feb challenge is a rainy one. had to change flat tire,got soaked first thing this mornin,got home from payin bills and phone was out,! had to run line from outside box to inside house..thats all the exercise i want for today..not too sore,but feel like ive had a good ass whoopin,hehehe..'keep the continue'

day 5 and its 63 degrees..have no idea how long or far im goin to walk today.ass was draggin all day monday,but thats what it takes.. while much stronger today,not sure if the lower body has had enough recovery time..sure is a good day to walk,but dont want to do too much.might just go and walk an easy 1 hr,and plan on a big day tomorrow,never know what condition legs are in,til ive walked for a few minutes..'keep the continue'

walked down to the mailbox and realized that i should rest the legs one more day,5 hrs and 42 minutes in 3 days was pushin it a bit.buuut,today would have been a hell of a day to be outside..did some stretchin,and a couple benchpress sets earlier,and will probably do at least one more this evenin...disppointed that i couldnt walk,got up to 64 degrees..'keep the continue'

day 6,already 60 degrees,think i'll get outside and enjoy it before it snows. have had 2 full days of rest,time to do some walkin,lets go get some fkn road! 'keep the continue'
