'im still on track,as long as im not gainin it back'!!!!!!...ivy,as long as you keep that attitude, youll be fine...gainin back a few pounds, causes so many of us,to give up...nothin is more devastating, than to feel like we have done everything we could possibly do,to drop a few pounds, then get on the scale, and we have gained, instead of losin...BUT,and this is a big BUT..unless youve got issues with your thyroid, the truth is,the cold hard facts are,WHEN WE GAIN WEIGHT,ITS BECAUSE WE'RE EATIN TOO MUCH......the only time, since last thanksgiving, ive been guilty of that, was during christmas...i knew id fkd up,so i didn get on the scale, for several weeks, and during that time,i worked my ass off, just to get back to where i started.....its very simple, what happened..i took a "christmas break",from walkin, and ate pumpkin pie, chicken and dumplins, cherry cobbler, etc, til it was comin out of my eyeballs..hehehe...i learned a lesson during that period, that ill never forget...first off,i will never take another "break' during christmas,or any other holiday, when i know my dear sister is goin to bring all the leftovers,to my house.(im gettin hungry, just thinkin about all that delicious pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler, banana puddin,OUCH) what ive learned from that is this..ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN,when it pertains to my health,in other words, what am i goin to eat,and how fkn far am i willin to walk and or crawl,to work it off....as long as you stick with the plan, your body will eventually weigh what it should....ivy,if you continue to take the time, each and every day,to pack yourself a nutritious lunch, changin unhealthy habits,to healthy ones, you are,as they say in aa..'on the path'....,havin a gym,at work, sure will cut down on the "excuses",,hehehe...'keep the continue'Great work hognuts, I've been posting less frequently because there's a lot happening lately. Just got a new job, and have to move to the big city Sept 1st. Been looking for apartments the past 2 weekends, and that means lots of driving. That's no excuse to be hitting up McDonalds though, so I've been packing lunches every day and tossing it in the back seat. A nice turkey sandwich, a peach, and some grapes give me way more energy than those $1 double cheeseburgers used to.
I'm still sitting around 260, plus or minus 2 lbs on any given day. It looks like the easy weight is done, now it's gonna be a real grind. I figure I'm still on track as long as I'm not gaining it back. Best news is, I just found out the new office building I'll be in has a real nice gym downstairs. No excuses!
one more thing ivy..if you havent already found an apt,a consideration for me would be the walkin scene...believe me,after a while, youll get bored in the gym at work if you'im still on track,as long as im not gainin it back'!!!!!!...ivy,as long as you keep that attitude, youll be fine...gainin back a few pounds, causes so many of us,to give up...nothin is more devastating, than to feel like we have done everything we could possibly do,to drop a few pounds, then get on the scale, and we have gained, instead of losin...BUT,and this is a big BUT..unless youve got issues with your thyroid, the truth is,the cold hard facts are,WHEN WE GAIN WEIGHT,ITS BECAUSE WE'RE EATIN TOO MUCH......the only time, since last thanksgiving, ive been guilty of that, was during christmas...i knew id fkd up,so i didn get on the scale, for several weeks, and during that time,i worked my ass off, just to get back to where i started.....its very simple, what happened..i took a "christmas break",from walkin, and ate pumpkin pie, chicken and dumplins, cherry cobbler, etc, til it was comin out of my eyeballs..hehehe...i learned a lesson during that period, that ill never forget...first off,i will never take another "break' during christmas,or any other holiday, when i know my dear sister is goin to bring all the leftovers,to my house.(im gettin hungry, just thinkin about all that delicious pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler, banana puddin,OUCH) what ive learned from that is this..ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN,when it pertains to my health,in other words, what am i goin to eat,and how fkn far am i willin to walk and or crawl,to work it off....as long as you stick with the plan, your body will eventually weigh what it should....ivy,if you continue to take the time, each and every day,to pack yourself a nutritious lunch, changin unhealthy habits,to healthy ones, you are,as they say in aa..'on the path'....,havin a gym,at work, sure will cut down on the "excuses",,hehehe...'keep the continue'

ivy,20 minutes goin to work, and 20 minutes comin back home...thats 40 minutes,5 days a week,if you added a bit of strength trainin where you work..maybe every other day...in 1 yrs time, youd be in pretty good shape.....of course youll need to continue to eat healthy..(like that turkey sammich.peach, and some grapes you had the other day..i remember it because it made me hungry)....'keep the continue'This is a great idea Hog, and I'm glad you mentioned it. It's looking like we're going to have to live a little ways outside the big apple in order to keep 1 car for my wife to drive to work, and I'll be taking a 20 min subway ride in. It'll be about a 10 minute walk to the station, and then a 10 minute walk to the office, so that's a start. However, as soon as I get the timing down on how long all this takes, I plan on making the train ride shorter and the walking longer -- walk the extra 10 blocks down to the station a little further from my apt, and get off one stop earlier to walk the extra 10 blocks to the office. Once I figure out how long all that takes, I'll try and get up a little earlier to walk a little further, etc etc.
I may just look like this guy here on the way to work, hehe.
if i ordered a pizza,id eat the whole damd thing.....what i do is,just make sure i gt enough good foods, that satiate my appetite, and have a big bowl of mixed fruit....maybe some yogurt, but i even have to be careful, how much yogurt i buy.eat too much of it,its almost like icecream......'keep the continue'.Feelin good today, nice granola with yogert mixed together breakfast, then a little bowl of pasta with spaghetti sauce, cantalope, and strawberries for lunch. The best part about taking cooking ahead of time and putting it all in microwavable bowls is that it is not only easy, but it controls the portions so I can give myself about 2 cups of pasta and that's IT. No heading back to the kitchen to fill up another bowl or getting back in line to buy another whatever at the food court.
Football season is creaping closer though, and I'm a little nervous about Saturday and Sunday afternoons! There's nothing better than a case of brewskies, a pizza, and maybe some hotwings while watching the games. I don't have a plan of attack against that yet, but luckly we've got some time to think one up.
