66 minutes today,of some really good walkin..one of my favorite things to do,is walk through town, when theres no traffic...between 12 and 6 a:m,this little burg is like a ghost town..theres somethin very special, about the quietness, and tranquility,of a small town, once the stores have closed, and everybodys gone in,for the night......'keep the continue'

fantastic mornin for a walk.....parked at the bank, walked through the college, and down to the socccer field..in order to change things a bit,i jogged around the field(1 mile)then headed back to the car..1 hr and 15 minutes,a fine workout, and the perfect way,to start a beautiful sunday mornin.....my thinkin is..until it cools off enough for me to do some hill work, think ill continue to walk and or jog that extra mile, before breakfast...i felt stronger today, think im back in the groove.....stopped and checked out some winter pants...the 40s i tried on,were quite snug, but if they were the only thing i had,i could wear em....to know that i could wear 40s,means a lot...im not there yet,but when i do get there, thatll be 10 digits, that i will have knocked off my waist......from a 50,to a 40...yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha...i dont want to get ahead of myself, cause itll probably be another month,or maybe even 2 months, before i can comfortably wear 40s,but one thing is for sure..ive bought my last pairof pants, that are over a size 40,in the waist....not sure why that number is so important, but ive been workin toward it,it seems like forever........im beginnin to realize, that i wasnt just obese,i was morbidly so,(morbidly obese,is 100 pounds, over your ideal weight)...while my goal is 200,i think im gonna need to lose about 10 more pounds than that........no matter what happens with the weight, ive finally learned how to eat and exercise,in a manner that is sustainable....... in other words, ive finally learned how to enjoy life..."you cannot be over weight,if your lifestyle doesnt support it", dr phil..........'keep the continue'

Great work hognuts, I've been posting less frequently because there's a lot happening lately. Just got a new job, and have to move to the big city Sept 1st. Been looking for apartments the past 2 weekends, and that means lots of driving. That's no excuse to be hitting up McDonalds though, so I've been packing lunches every day and tossing it in the back seat. A nice turkey sandwich, a peach, and some grapes give me way more energy than those $1 double cheeseburgers used to.

I'm still sitting around 260, plus or minus 2 lbs on any given day. It looks like the easy weight is done, now it's gonna be a real grind. I figure I'm still on track as long as I'm not gaining it back. Best news is, I just found out the new office building I'll be in has a real nice gym downstairs. No excuses!

pretty much the same route today,as yesterday..parked at the bank, walked thru the college, down to the soccer field, jog 1 mile, then back to the car=78 minutes.....its supposed to start coolin off,if it does, maybe ill get in an evenin session...if i dont lose 1 pound,by tomorrow,im gonna be behind schedule,to make my goal..instead of needin to lose 1 pound, between the 14th and 21st,ill need to lose 2..would be nice to have a week, where i drop 2 or 3 pounds, but i aint holdin my breath....my thinkin is this,if i dont get down to 200 by oct 1st,then ill adjust my goal to nov 1st...ye cant whip a mfer who wont quit..irrespective of the numbers on the scale,im gettin slimmer every day..when i look into these store windows, and get a side view,of my reflection,it is almost unbelievable,at what i see...it reminds me of myself when i was very young....i never in my wildest dreams, thought i would enjoy this journey,as much as i have.....'keep the continue'

'im still on track,as long as im not gainin it back'!!!!!!...ivy,as long as you keep that attitude, youll be fine...gainin back a few pounds, causes so many of us,to give up...nothin is more devastating, than to feel like we have done everything we could possibly do,to drop a few pounds, then get on the scale, and we have gained, instead of losin...BUT,and this is a big BUT..unless youve got issues with your thyroid, the truth is,the cold hard facts are,WHEN WE GAIN WEIGHT,ITS BECAUSE WE'RE EATIN TOO MUCH......the only time, since last thanksgiving, ive been guilty of that, was during christmas...i knew id fkd up,so i didn get on the scale, for several weeks, and during that time,i worked my ass off, just to get back to where i started.....its very simple, what happened..i took a "christmas break",from walkin, and ate pumpkin pie, chicken and dumplins, cherry cobbler, etc, til it was comin out of my eyeballs..hehehe...i learned a lesson during that period, that ill never forget...first off,i will never take another "break' during christmas,or any other holiday, when i know my dear sister is goin to bring all the leftovers,to my house.(im gettin hungry, just thinkin about all that delicious pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler, banana puddin,OUCH) what ive learned from that is this..ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN,when it pertains to my health,in other words, what am i goin to eat,and how fkn far am i willin to walk and or crawl,to work it off....as long as you stick with the plan, your body will eventually weigh what it should....ivy,if you continue to take the time, each and every day,to pack yourself a nutritious lunch, changin unhealthy habits,to healthy ones, you are,as they say in aa..'on the path'....,havin a gym,at work, sure will cut down on the "excuses",,hehehe...'keep the continue'

one more thing ivy..if you havent already found an apt,a consideration for me would be the walkin scene...believe me,after a while, youll get bored in the gym at work if you
do it every day...would be nice to just step outside, and have a good place to walk...in my walkin, hills are very important...after 15 or 20 minutes,i get bored as hell on flat land....just an idea, cause if theres one thing i dont like about where i live, its that i have to get in the car and drive,to find a decent place to walk...'keep the continue'

This is a great idea Hog, and I'm glad you mentioned it. It's looking like we're going to have to live a little ways outside the big apple in order to keep 1 car for my wife to drive to work, and I'll be taking a 20 min subway ride in. It'll be about a 10 minute walk to the station, and then a 10 minute walk to the office, so that's a start. However, as soon as I get the timing down on how long all this takes, I plan on making the train ride shorter and the walking longer -- walk the extra 10 blocks down to the station a little further from my apt, and get off one stop earlier to walk the extra 10 blocks to the office. Once I figure out how long all that takes, I'll try and get up a little earlier to walk a little further, etc etc.

I may just look like this guy here on the way to work, hehe. :dancefool

ivy,20 minutes goin to work, and 20 minutes comin back home...thats 40 minutes,5 days a week,if you added a bit of strength trainin where you work..maybe every other day...in 1 yrs time, youd be in pretty good shape.....of course youll need to continue to eat healthy..(like that turkey sammich.peach, and some grapes you had the other day..i remember it because it made me hungry)....'keep the continue'

Feelin good today, nice granola with yogert mixed together breakfast, then a little bowl of pasta with spaghetti sauce, cantalope, and strawberries for lunch. The best part about taking cooking ahead of time and putting it all in microwavable bowls is that it is not only easy, but it controls the portions so I can give myself about 2 cups of pasta and that's IT. No heading back to the kitchen to fill up another bowl or getting back in line to buy another whatever at the food court.

Football season is creaping closer though, and I'm a little nervous about Saturday and Sunday afternoons! There's nothing better than a case of brewskies, a pizza, and maybe some hotwings while watching the games. I don't have a plan of attack against that yet, but luckly we've got some time to think one up.

63 degrees this mornin, i felt so motivated,, by the cooler weather,i decided to walk down the lane, that runs beside my driveway, and get in maybe 30 minutes of cardio....when i got to the last house,(its a dead end, with only 2 houses,on the entire road..very isolated)i seen a for sale sign, and decided to take a look at the property....the only thing that had prevented me from exploring this area, was that i would have had to walk up the driveway,to this hose, and deal with a fkn german shephard...now that mr german shephard was gone,i thought id walk up that driveway, and see what was on the other side of the mountain, that runs along beside this house....i enjoy the heck out of goin places, where there are no visible signs, that a human being, has ever been there.and this was one of those occasions..the only sign i seen, that anybody had been there before me,was one shotgun shell..its the kind of place, that only a hunter,or somebody runnin from the law, would even think about goin to....only part of the hike that i regret, was that i had on shorts, and a tshirt,id cut the sleeves out of...scratched my arms and legs up a bit,but nothin a good rubdown with alcohol, didnt take care of.....i was out for 65 minutes, but i expect to do as much or more, tomorrow,im just gettin started with this fkn mountain, from what i seen today, theres much more to be explored...as i said, this was an unplanned hike,in the mornin,i might take some water, and possibly a snack,i dont like to eat breakfast, until after my workout, but if i wait too long,my blood sugar gets low,and i feel like crap...might just stick a boiled egg or two,and an apple in my pocket, and go get jiggy with that mountain.....still havent dropped any more weight...if i dont get rid of any fat,by the 21st,ill be 2 pounds behind schedule..ouch......buuut,im gettin leaner and meaner, every fkn day,hehehe...there aint nothin in this world, like gettin up in the mornin, feelin good, and excited about the day......'keep the continue'
