track was full of kids, grade schooler up to high school and college, not sure what the occasion was, everybody was doin exercise on the track sooo i walked about 1/2 mile to te soccer field, did one round (1mile),found the biggest hill in that area and headed back to the track,im guessin i did appr 2 miles,i sure couldnt do any joggin tody,it seems my old body only wants me to jog every other day,,found a new exercise ive been doin for the past few days, and it will wear you out,at least it does me,,,try holdi your hands as far above your head as you possibly can, reach for the stars(while youre walkin).i can only do this for a count of 50,if you want to get serios, try it goin uphill, hehehe,,this must be good for the spine cause the more reps i do,the better i feel, very relaxing...was 56 degrees here in berea and it seems most everyone in this little berg, were out enjoyin the weather...found some bread substitute at the healthfood store that looks promising, its called latortilla factory,19 grams of total carb,14 gram dietary fiber,,,effective carb count=5g,,this is whole wheat,1g sugar, none of that corn starch crap in it and it hasnt been processed to death,,,im goin to share with you,one of hognuts favorite sandwich recipes,i put slced turkey and extra sharp cheddar cheese between 2 slices ofthis bread, microwave for 2 minutes, take out of microwave, put 1/4 head pf lettuce,2 pickles, one whole onion on top and bygod youve got yourself a sandwich, guaranteed to satiate any fat mans appetite, one large cup of decaf, with heavy whipping cream and 2 packets of splenda, for sweetnin(thats what my dad called dessert),one large apple,,yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha, ps: eatin all this will wear you out,a 30 minute to 1 hour nap has worked very well for mrhognuts.....this is mrhognuts, and i approve of this sandwich.

175 situps this mornin,im surprised at how fast your stomach muscle get stronger,,now lets go do some cardio!! ps: tried "the suit"on last night and was disappointed,no way in hell i can wear those pants @ 235,maybe 230,i am mistaken about how much i weighed when i first wore that suit,,im thinkin now that i was under 230,i do remember that i wasnt in the obese category, which for me is appr 228,soo as bad as i hate to,im gonna have to put my suit wearin day up to may 1,thats 7 weeks from today,i think i can lose 12 lbs in 7 weeks, but who knows when the fat is goin to come off,all i can do is keep on truckin baby!!

Hognuts...you are getting to be a regular Jack LaLane, keep it up...today played 18 holes of golf and then went to the gym and spent 60 minutes on the treadmill...have not lifted any weights since Oct., but a couple of guys suggested it.....I really just want to play golf, walk, and jog lightly, and watch what I eat and drink....think I will pass on the weights for a while...talk at you later....

You better hit the weights or you'll end up looking like K.O.

drove through boonesboro and on to winchester, had to take some videos and books back to library, asked the folks at library about a place to walk and they directed me to a gym a couple blocks away,i walked for 40 minutes at a decent pace,i like goin to a different spot,at least once a week, keeps it interesting,,,viejo, one of my first memories is jack doin his thing on tv,what was his dogs name? one hell of a guy,,one reason ive started doin situps is i was havin some lower back pain, not real bad but i think its related to my gut and bad posture,i put a cople blankets down on the carpet and do all kinds of stretches,i can tell a difference already,,,ps: as i have stated before,im retired, but my nephew wants me to supervise a job for him startin on the 16th,im actually lookin forward to it,before i started walkin, there is no way i would have considered it,job is supposed to last about 6 weeks, will be a good chance for me to get some exercise and get paid for it,,hmmm, got to find that old alarm clock,i seen it somewhere,4 or 5 years ago,,hehehe,,"keep the continue"

hognuts, i've had such a horrendous schedule but decided to check and see how you were doing; sounds like you're becoming the weight-loss expert--i can see book writing in your future; noticed that you're 55--don't recall what your occupation was but it certainly would be nice to be able to be retired at 55 and work only when you wanted to do so (that is a dream world for most of us)--i will have to work until normal retirement (65) or later; i am so concerned about the cost of health insurance and almost have to work for that; it is great to see someone so driven to better their health and i applaud you; consistency and dedication are the determining factors and you seem to have both; keep up the good work and you will be able to wear that suit before May 1; still plan to catch up with you one day when i get back to berea--look forward to meeting the new Jack Lalane

Hog....do not know the dog's name.....maybe I will try to do some sit-ups this week, I know it can't hurt.....maybe hurt my feelings, that's about it...maybe you ought to consult a chiropractor Hog, been going to one for two weeks now because of a sharp pain on my left lower back....I can now swing a golf club freely without pain and he also cracks my neck....never hurt when I was on the treadmill or was walking, only hurt during golf....I go to him 6 days a week for around 10 minutes.....feeling pretty good again..

fellows,i weighed this mornin and before i have my large cup of decaf,im at 239,while this might seem like a trivial nimber to most, this is a huge milestone for me,feels fantastic...while i realize yor weight fluctuates during the day,i can still say that on the morning of march 7,2007,iweighed 239 lbs,and what i am doin is workin, alcoholics annonymous taught me to just do what i am supposed to do and stfu, sooo,no more of these stallin tactics, its situp time, yeeeeeeeeeeha

viejo, when i do all these stretches and situps,my lower back is usually fine,,while i am walkin,i stop and touch my toes for a count of 2 hundred(i can actually place the palms of my hands flat on the ground, when i was app 40,i was havin some lower back pain and thought it was caused by standing on a ladder all day, went to a doc and he told me to try touchin my toes, every mornin,i did that religiously until i got so fat i couldnt) i also stretch my arms toward the sky, several ties a day,so far i can hold it to a count of 50,(just started this week)it must stretch a muscle or somethin because it feels so good when i put my arms down,,i honestly believe that all this weight in my stomach is pullin on my spine and gettin it out of whack,,if i went to a doctor,he would tell me to do what im already doin,,lose that fkn 69 volkswagon youve got tied around your waist, hehehe,,,deputydog,i was a painting contractor,if i hadnt been a drinker i could have retired at 40,if people like your work, rich folks want to keep you around,,its not what people get that counts, its what they think they get,,i learned early on that the only thing i had to do was sell mrhognuts and cash the checks, hehehe,,(i actually took a lot of pride in my work)

Last time I even tried 200 sit-ups is when I was in the Corps and in my twenties....holy shit Hognuts, you are making me look bad...haha....seriously, keep it up, your gut will thank you....Today I walked 4.5 miles and did another hour on the old treadmill....makes it worthwhile when other people in the gym start asking you questions on how you lost weight and how much better you look.
