O.K. Hognuts, you have shamed me into sit-ups starting tomorrow...will keep you posted on what happens....Do you do situps with the aid of the bar or do you do regular sit-ups....I gotta know.....

viejo,i think what ive been callin situps,are actually crunches,,also,i dont know what you mean by "with the aid of the bar',what bar are you talkin about? very sorry if i was misleading.

have been doin some readin on the net about the best way to achieve fat loss,,im hearing that its better to walk for 30 to 40 minutes i the am and another 30 or 40 miutes in the pmon an empty stomach,startin today,im goin to trythat out and see what happens,this is the 8th,i weigh 239,goin to walk 30 minutes am and pm til april 8,,,"keep the continue"

ps:had to help nephew finish paintin a white castle rest in richmond yesterday,my ass was wore out last night,i hit the recliner,and thats about the last thing i remember,missed all the games,now i know why i retired,paintin ceilings is hard work.if youre not conditioned for it,hehehe.

did 36 minutes(2miles)at the track,now the real test is,will i go back out tonight,and do another 36 minutes,,we shall see.

sit ups are different than crunches...the gym has equipment that makes situps easier...but anyway you do it, keep it up....your posts suggest that you are highly motivated and you got your second wind, congrats....my friend suggested to me that when I wake up in the morning, to go on a twenty minute walk without breakfast or brushing your teeth....says you will burn more fat...very interesting

metabolism,thats what ive been readin about today,i dont know if walkin twice a day helps to keep your body burnin fat longer,but it passes the common sense test,goin to miss some good basketball,but i might lose a couple ounces,this will also keep me fro wearin myself out early and so i expect to have more energy through the day,NOW LETS HIT THE ROAD!!YEEEEEEEEEEEEEHA(an old fat man,tryin to psyche himself out,or is it up..hehehe.

got another 40 minutes in,at the track,40 degrees and no wind,a very nice time to walk,,,i believe if your health is more important than anything else,you will do twoadays,most people talk a good game but its only words,any time that i put my eexercise off "until later"im makin it secondary to somethin,what could possibly be more important than my health? nothin,but we want things the easy way,thats why im obese,lazy,childish,irresponsible behaviour,goin out twice a day wont be easy,but it will sure be easier than walkin around tryin to make excuses for bein so fat,while i feel better because im changin my lifestyle,it still freaks me out,that i could mistreat myself the way i have in the last few years,,buuut,it sure feels great to be winnin the war against fat,ILL WEAR THAT DAMD SUIT,SOONER THAN LATER.

got my early 30 minute walk in,65 degrees outside,first day i have gone without a coat since last summer,will keep my metabolism goin today by doin one more 30 or 40 minute session,later.

Hognuts...walked 18 holes today and an hour on the treadmill....you are becoming a fanactic, lots of energy and determination Hognuts....we seniors have to stick together..LOL...you should be wearing your suit pretty soon....Forgot to add, I did 20 situps today, was all in at the 20th one..

before ive had my large cup of decaf,I WEIGH 235,YES THATS TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY FIVE POUNDS,i could come up with a lot of big words to describe how i feel,but im just goin to say what is in my heart,,i dont remember the last time i was this happy,all this time,ive been thinkin that my metabolism was a little slow,and that it was going to take me longer to lose this weight than the average person(and i was ok with that)im goin to go back and check,but i think i have lost 15 lbs in the last month,its march 10 so i made my goal of 235 by april 1 with room to spare,,

viejo,i know that you know,how i feel,havin you along for the ride,has helped tremendously,old hognuts is pullin for ye...in response to your friend suggestin that you walk before you brush your teeth,i firmly believe(from my experience,not just somethin i read)that doin twoadays,app 30 minutes each session,is the way to go,one huuuuge plus that i have experienced is my appetite,when i was doin all my cardio in one session,after i finished,i would be starvin,i would eat a foot long sub and still be a lttle bit hungry,i had to drink a lot of coffee and water to ge through it,now that im doin twoadays,all i need afterwards is one regular sandwich(i fix it myself)a large apple,then finish it off with a decaf, sometimes i eat grapes,yogurt,soup,broccoli,cauliflower,thats about it,,the only time im hungry is when i wake up,i always just drink a cup of joe,and the hunger leaves me until i have done my early cardio,,"keep the continue" ps: i know it wont fit me,but im goin to go right now and try that suit on,hehehe.

went back and checked,i went an entire month and didnt lose one ounce,in the last 18 days,ive lost 10 pounds,guys,i must admit,wheni went that whole month without losin anything,it was rough,plus i was goin at it as hard as i could,as devastating as that was,nothin,absolutely nothin can compare to the way i felt at 295,,,i think ill celebrate by goin down to the beach,aint nothin like the sound of the water and the wind.

didnt make it to the beach,(rainin too hard)but i went to the track,and got in 2 miles(37 minutes).tried those damd suit pants on again,i dont know why,ive got to lose at least 5 more lbs before i can even think about it.

Weighed in at 273 today, that is 97 pounds since Oct. 3rd....feel great and took out some photos of before and after, seriously unbelievable to say the least....been walking alot lately and eating more than I used to, but still losing....staying away from bread, soda, and booze....Thanks mainly to Hognuts and my co-workers, this transformation has been uplifting, and along the way a couple of other posters have benefited from dropping excess baggage....Still Hognuts and I have a way to go, but by football season we will be able to go to the beach without harpoons being thrown our way...LOL

took my weekly saturday night stroll through town,dont know how far,but the time was 40 minutes,,,,,my new goal is 228,7 pounds,at 228,i wont be in the obese category any more,annnd i think ill be able to wear the suit,,,,one thing i have almost stopped isthe joggin,dont kow if its age or weight,but my knees always irritate me the next day,its not exactly pain,but i dont want it to turn into somethin,i like to slow jog,but it aint worth it right now,maybe when i drop some more weight,,'keep the continue'

changed things up a bit and went to the forest this mornin,glad i did,seen a few buttercups poppin out and that means spring is about here,i hadnt been out to the forest (too wet)in at least a month,the one thought that was runnin through my mind this sunday morn is this,,,its a hell of a lot more fun walkin in the forest at 235 than it was at 295,the first 1/2 mile of my route in the forest has a slight incline,what a difference between one month ago and today,in the degree of difficulty,traversing that first 1/2 mile,bein obese,zaps all yer energy,before ye get out of the fkn bed..."keep the continue"
