Report: LSU blocking Willie Allen from transferring to TCU. Will this decision backfire?

It appears you can add another name to the growing list of schools LSU is attempting to “keep out” of Louisiana as former Tiger offensive lineman Willie Allen has reportedly been blocked from transferring to TCU.
Allen, a former four-star recruit and 2016 Under Amour All-American selection out of New Orleans, signed with LSU over TCU, Alabama and Ole Miss among others following his high school career.
Allen announced his decision to leave the LSU program less than two weeks ago, citing it was in his best interest athletically and academically to leave the school. According to multiple sources of Gil Lebreton’s of the Star-Telegram, Allen’s destination of choice is TCU. The only problem? LSU has told Allen he cannot transfer to any SEC school or TCU.
Without specifically stating why LSU would block Allen from leaving the program and heading to Fort Worth, Lebreton suggests the recruitment of Justin Rogers is to blame. Rogers, Louisiana’s No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2018 recruiting cycle, is a four-star prospect and committed to TCU over LSU just weeks ago. Considering LSU’s desperate attempts to find an elite quarterback in recent seasons, letting the state’s top prospect leave for TCU isn’t the best sign for Ed Orgeron’s LSU program.
It will be interesting to see how this story plays out in regards to not only Allen’s transfer but the recruitment of five-star Louisiana receiver Terrace Marshall. Marshall is a teammate of Rogers and is being recruited by both LSU and TCU. Should LSU’s strongarm tactics cost them yet another elite in-state prospect from a position of need, their strict transfer rules could partially be to blame.
While Orgeron has pledged to protect Louisiana from programs outside the state’s borders, so far it appears he’s only protecting LSU’s interest over the well-being of Louisiana natives wishing to leave the state in order to seek alternative options to the state’s flagship institution.
