I think if Tiger is going to win at all this year, it is more than likely going to be in Atlanta at the PGA Championship. I believe he'll have his game together better in August than he will in June. Right now he's having trouble putting 4 good rounds together. I think he just needs more tournaments to play in so he can get into the flow. I think his chances of winning a major go way up if he can win a minor tournament first.
I agree with ya on if he wins a minor tourn first, chances on major go up. It would just give him that little edge back. You have to be cocky, conceeded, and confident to be a good golfer, even at the amateur level imo. I think a win would give him some of that back. I caddied on the Women's Tour between 1973-76 during the summer months....Caddied in the US Open for Donna Caponi Young at Atlantic City Country Club in New Jersey...she finished pretty well and made 175 bucks (10%) purses were shit during those days...

Nobody said he sucks Taylor, Just isn't as good as he use to be. His body isn't holding up, he doesn't, putt very well anymore, and he loses his swing from time to time on key shots.I think he has a decent shot at another major or two. But not yet. Taylor he doesn't suck because he doesn't win every tournament he plays, he just doesn't win at all anymore. He's still good, but not great.
Yes Phil is my favorite Golfer. Your favorite golfer doesn't have to be the best golfer out there either. I'm not the only fan of his either, check the galleries. I don't need to give you a reason more then last year. Phil has that great scene winning the Masters for his wife, while Tiger flushes his family down the toilet. Phil acts with more integrity then Tiger so I live with his occasional tank jobs. Phil also carries a great guy in Bones on his bag. Who does Tiger have, Stevie Williams which matches Tigers asshole attitude on the course.I don't like cheap tippers either, Tiger is #1 with being cheap to the regular guy. Still respect what he has done, but don't have to like the guy either. I'm sure you have some meaningless reason why nobody should be a fan of Michelson's. I'm sure its ground shaking.
I realize Phil is a "good guy", at least thats the perception he has me believing, no telling how these guys really are. My only prob with Phil as far as being a very athlete, is he has absolutely zero killer instinct. Tiger (when playing good), will stick a knife in you, and then pull your guts out. Same thing with guys like Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan etc....Phil on the other hand will stick a knife in you, but then he will pull it out and apologize for doing it.
Bones is good on the bag, and its cool they have a good relationship. But stevie is no slouch, and he has a better golfer hitting the clubs he is carrying, and rarely needs to give his input.
Like I said, I realize Phil is not the best golfer out there, He's on the short list though. I root for him because I like him and his shot making imagination is off the charts. I'm sure Williams is great on the bag, no doubt. But his act on the course with the galleries has been pretty poor.
I followed Mickelson around when he played at Southern Hills in Tulsa back in the 90's before Tiger had really hit the golf world. And out of all of the golfers that I've seen, Phil was by far the best ball striker, shaper of the ball than anybody I had seen to that point. Phil's problem isn't talent. It's been in his head. He's choked at some bad times, and taken too many chances at others. He is a golfer who if he was a little more disciplined, probably would have had close to 10 majors titles by now.
Def on the short list. Look, they can put whoever they want at #1 in the world every week with their computers. Bottom line is tiger is the best golfer in the world, and Phil and Westwood are tied for 2nd.
Their isn't the big gap anymore, but those are the best golfers in the world.
Also since Yall are Phil fans, I dnt know if Yall like randel chamblee or not, but I respect what he says. After the masters, he said he thinks phils arthritis or whatever it is, is worse than people realize. He says they constantly have to change his meds etc....if that's true, I do feel bad for mickelson
Arthritis is a real problem for people who have it at a young age. I've got it in my hands pretty bad. And I started taking arthritis drugs a couple of years ago and the problem pretty much went away. But in the last few months I've started feeling it creeping back. Especially in the mornings before I play golf and am warming up. And on colder days it's just about impossible for me to play. So I've become strictly a fair weather golfer. I know I'm going to have to go to the doctor soon to get a change in prescription or else a stronger dose. So I can feel where he's coming from. I doubt he'll ever make it to the Senior circuit with his condition.
