I saw John Lynch at Bonnie Brae ice cream in Denver last Sunday. Was with his family, most people left him alone. He seemed really nice to the people that did talk to him.

Ive met and conversated with a ton of Philadelphia pro and college athletes as well as others:

Nice guys:
Bruce Bowen (when with the Sixers)
Matt Geiger
Willie Green
Billy King
Chase Utley
Ryan Howard
Jason Fraser, Allan Ray (Nova players)
Barry Gardner (former Eagle)
Brian Dawkins
Andy Reid
Curtis Sumpter
Dwayne McClain

Bad guys:
Steven Hunter
Kyle Lowry
Ravishing Rick Rude (biggest ahole on planet)
Patrick Ewing
Mark Macon

Indifferent:
Tim Thomas
Gary McLain

Nicest athlete I've ever met, by far, is Jason Fraser, former McDonalds AA who's Nova career was destroyed by knee injuries. Maybe the nicest person anyone will ever meet.

I wonder if Rick Rude was really like that or if he was just in character.

Rasheed Wallace is a total asshole. Working in a restaurant in Las Vegas, I've dealt with him and other celebs often. Once a young boy asked Rasheed for an autograph, and he told him to "talk to my agent." The kid was about 9 or 10 years old, no lie.

Great guys- Antoine Walker, Shaq, Chuck Liddell

at the time I was dating this girl who was a bartender at this nice place in Syracuse. Derrick Coleman was in town for a golf tournament Bohiem was having for coaches vs. cancer. so coleman is there getting the VIP treatment and such, but apparently he didn't feel he had to pay anything. after my girlfriend asked for the money several times for his drinks he finally whipped out a $20 ripped it up and threw it in her face. He then proceeded to go behind the bar, grab a bottle of 1800 tequilla and do a 7 count straight out of the bottle. all this happened 8 feet in front of me and left me in shock. later on that evening he had one of the girls he was with ask my girlfriend, who was an absolute dime piece, if she wanted to join them for the rest of the night when they leave. she said no repeatedly saying her boyfriend was here so the girl left. 5 minutes later she came back and said Derrick would give her $1,000 dollars if she would join them for the rest of the night. It's too bad because being a huge Syracuse fan I had obviously always been a huge D.C. fan....i am no longer.

Another time Carmello Anthony was back in town drinking at this bar my buddy owned. He proceeded to run up a bill in excess of $1,500. Apparently all these star athletes don't think they have to pay tabs because he refused to pay the tab when my buddy was asking and tried running out of the place. After he took off and ran into his limo, my friend ran after him, and said he was going to have to call the police if he didn't pay up. He rolled down the window and threw a bunch of $100's out the window at him.

Nice Guy = Vince Carter...

* At an Arcade / Restaurant , in downtown Toronto...he'd just won the dunk off and this guy walks in and the whole staff just stops working to worship this guy...Mangers, Bartenders, getting paid to gawk at this fella...and he comes over and asks us if we're in line...( people were simply letting this guy bud)...but insisted we stay in line and made sure we didn't get pushed back....and talked to us the whole time...A whiner on the court..but a good personable guy if you get to know him...

Carlos Delgado = Great Guy....
Doug Christie = Use to see this guy everywhere around town...always has his kids with him...Whipped but a good guy...nonetheless..friendly..

Bad Guy = Tracy McGrady

This Jag off tried to pick up my friends wife...right in front of him...No Class....whatsoever...

Terry Pendleton = A Hole

i used to be a Delgado fan since he came up threw the Blue Jay organization, and Syracuse was their AAA affiliate. I watched him play for 3 years, and have always been a fan, but the whole thing of not standing for the national anthem rubbed me the wrong way, and have not liked him since. No matter your point of view on what the U.S. does you can at least stand up and give respect to the fans of the country that made you a multi millionare. You can protest the United States foreign policy in different ways then spitting in the face of out country. Not sure how everyone else felt about the matter, but I did not like it one bit.

Living near ESPN, I have met a few retired celebrities.

Harold Reynolds and Rob Dibble were actually quest speakers at our baseball banquet. Sat at the same table with them, Reynolds was absolutely sensational with the kids, it was sad to see him fired. Dibble was friendly but a little rough around the edges.

Met the game day crew in the early 90's when we were high bidders at a charity auction. Got to spend the entire game day with them. Berman, Mortenson, Theisman & Jackson. All were good to us.

Also met Craig James in the studio and Mark Malone in a restaurant, where he was hitting on the manager.

Played craps with Mel Stottlemyer at the Mohegan Sun. He was a 5 dollar player.

Not one bad experience.

Half of these stories don't change my opinion at all, because they were at a charity event, some type of function, or celebrity event. It is there job to be nice and friendly to the every day person.
