Good Guy...

Ran into former Ohio State Coach John Cooper at a golf tournament...we were both just spectators. He saw me wearing a Browns' shirt and out of the blue began a discussion with me about the draft...

So me and my three friends drive to downtown Seattle to see the opening of Planet Hollywood. We we're trying to see some movie stars but security wouldn't let us within two blocks. So we get in the car and start driving down the street and get caught in some traffic. My friend looks out the window and sees someone and says "Hey Big Smooth (Sam Perkins) what's happening?" Sam Perkins is sitting in the back seat of a car next to us and says "What's up fellas?"

My dad was playing some cards in Reno and when he was done he walked over near some promotion booth for the Evander Holyfield fight. Low and behold Evander walks up. My pops is a huge boxing fan so he strikes up a good conversation with Evander. He told me he talked to Evander for about 15 minutes as Holyfield was waiting on his management team. He said Holyfield was a class act, a real nice guy and they just talked boxing. Holyfield signed a T-shirt for my ole' man and I still have a 1988 "Evander Real Deal Holyfield" T-shirt my dad bought me at the booth.

Albert Belle is a great guy too, I went to his house on Halloween one year but no one answered so I left. He was so nice that he chased me down in his Range Rover to try and give me some candy.

Carl Everett is a great guy too.

I would pay for his cab ride if I was in the same car with him.

A lot of people mentioning guys from the good Blazers teams.

I lived in Portland in the late 80s and early 90s. From what I saw, Clyde Drexler was all class. Always took the time to says thanks or high five people in Portland.

Jerome Kersey and Danny Ainge were rude pricks from what I saw.

Yeah, I dont doubt that about Danny. Look at what he has done to the Celtics.

And to think I kept the article clipping from the Globe when he got traded to the Kings.

Curse you Ainge! Curse you!

Wow a few people mentioned Barkley as a prick. I had a different experience. Maybe it's cause i was a kid (around 12-13) when i met him. But he was flying out of Philly when my family was going on vacation and my pop spotted him checking in for a flight when we were. I waited for him by the escalator to tell him he was my favorite player...he stopped and talked to me, told me to get good grades, and signed my hat before taking off.

Another cool guy I met as a kid was Randall Cunningham. He lived in my hometown for a while when he was on the Eagles. Me and a buddy rode our bikes to his house. After talking to him over his intercom for a few minutes and assuring him it was only 2 kids he invited us in. Signed our football cards and bullshitted with us for a little bit. To this day he's still my favorite athlete of all time.

Randall's the Man and my favorite NFL player of all time :103631605

Just recently met Willis McGahee on the plane. Was sitting in first class in a row across from him. Asked if we were going to win the Super Bowl and he told me we're going all the way. Gave me dap and I went back to minding my business. I did hear a little of what he was talking about to the fella next to him and it wasn't about football, Willis was talking investment & mortgage strategies.

Biggest asshole I have ever met or seen in person is Patrick Ewing ... I met him once at a Lexus Dealership in Connecticut... total prick. Im a diehard Knicks Fan ... I went up to him and started talking a little shop , He total ignored me ... then said he was waiting to speak for the manager and if I would excuse him ... Well I went over to the other side of the show room and it was 20 mins before he spoke to anybody ....

Another Time , I was driving into the City on the L.I.E. and saw him in his Range Rover ... Traffic was at a stand still and I was right next to him , I yelled out to him through my Window .... "Ewing My Man , great Game Last Night !!!" ( He had like 34-15 the night before in a big win ) He looked right at me , didnt smile or anything and promptly rolled his window all the way up. I felt like giving him the finger , but I didnt.

nice: Troy Aikman, I got to play wiffle ball with him at some indoor baseball place, I was probably 8 years old at the time. Stewart Cink is a real nice guy as is Fred Couples. When I was at Sherwood (tiger's event) everyone waiting for autographs got excited when couple's came, and he went around and signed everyone's autograph and when I left he was outside his car chatting with a young kid.

asshole- willy mays, my mom said if he signed your autograph book he would sign the book and throw it as far away as he could. She ran into him cursing out a mentally handicapped kid at a dinner where he was being honored for helping these kids.

Couples was in a 4-some behind me at LACC once. a buddy of mine dropped his wallet out of the cart at a tee box and Couples comes rolling up while we were in the fairway to bring it to him. He noticed a tin of chew in my buddy's pocket and says "what you got there?" in the "I see you have dip, mind if I have some" sort of way. Gave him a chew, shook hands w/ everyone and went on his way.

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but most of the assholes seem to be black and most of the good ones seem to be white. I wonder why that is?

Because of dipshits like you that sit here all day talking about them and their lives rather than getting one of your own.
