I have no idea what patsfan is talking about. If you call a pass play there (which is idiotic) how do you call a slant that puts the ball in the crowded middle of the field. Terrible job and the worst call in history.

Didn't BB have his goal line defense in the play before from the 5 yard line? I do enjoy patriot fans who refuse to accept bill made a bad call to not use a timeout....if seattle scores...all the talk is about that. Pete bailed out Bill with that call big time

Do you mean Polaris?

it definitely "Made" it....the odds on who would win was probably pats -10000 ....-5000....-1000...then bam....after that sea was prob favored

Pats were about -200 when Seahawks initially took over. After the Kearse catch, it was about SEA +115.
This according to 5dimes in-play wagering that I was looking at while watching the game. Most definitely not pats -10000 or even -1000

How can you have the #1 rush offense in the NFL but have a weak offensive line? Their week spot is the WR corps.

Russell Wilson almost set a record for not completing a pass in the Superbowl until he finally hit that tall receiver for a big gain leading to their first touchdown.

Until that big play, Seattle could not get anything going on offense because Wilson had no one open, but more importantly had no time to pass. Lynch wasn't exactly tearing it up on the ground either in the first half.

Seattle's two TD in the first half, mainly the result of the big passing play for the 1st one, and a couple of big runs, a completion, a penalty and TD completion for the second TD. New England basically held Lynch's running in check most of the game.

I dunno if that was a 5D glitch or you aren't remembering things correctly but Sea was nowhere near +115 after the Kearse catch.

More like -400....After Lynch 1st down run about -900

Just saw shdw's post and yeah those in-game #s are way off. NE was like 60% when Sea had the ball at midfield, give or take.

They should have went 19-0. Great running game, great line, great defense, great quarterback. I guess it all went wrong without a HOF receiver.

You can have a great everything and still lose. Playing in SD and KC is tough. No shame in losing to this year's Dallas team.

You're kind of joking right? Wilson had all the time in the world to pass...watch the tape. He had nobody to throw to as the DB's were playing great. Hell, on that play where Revis tackled Wilson for a loss, he had .10 to pass the ball.

Pass protection was not Seattle's issue. It was the WR's not getting open that was the issue.

Seattle did not play New England 17 times this season.

NE was bad on the goal line this year. Seattle had all the momentum, NE had not stopped Lynch and were on their heels. Lynch walks in and has a martini in the back of the EZ.

My take on the game is that it was one for the century. It had everything and then the ending defied reason. When Brady and Co. scored it seemed like the Pats had the win. Then Kearse made that unbeleivable catch and the Pats were history. Then genius Pete come to their rescue and just like that,,,,,,,, Brady and the Pats win # 4. I'm not taking anything away from either team as they both played their hearts out. I had some great 18/1 futures on the Hawks so I was only making Pats cover bets at Pats +1. I got Pats +450 when Hawks took the 10 point lead. There was a +570 up there but I wasn't quick enough. I had a bigger profit riding with Hawks but Pete had other ideas !

Patriots won it. Even though Bevelle made that idiotic call, the CB still had to jump the route and make the pick.

I can't wait until Seattle pays their piece of crap qb millions and he has to shoulder the load. He has taken more cum shots than he had completions in the 1st half of the super bowl.

Read somewhere, but forget where, that during this season, Seattle had the ball on the 1 yard line 5 times when they gave it to Lynch, and he scored 1 TD on those plays. Kind of surprising when he lead the lead in touchdowns.

This stat is true.
So maybe it had something to do with the play call & trying to surprise them.
But that stat alone is yet another reason that they might not have have gotten in no matter what plays they ran.

If Lynch got stuff, which happened on a 3rd & 1 this Superbowl, people be howling, why not play action pass, or bootleg, or even pick play.

Exactly... And if they had of scored on that pass, everyone would be boasting about how they fooled them with the pass when NE was expecting the run...

Seattle lost it because of their coach, the Pats won it despite their coach...

Give me Belichick in the Manning years and we have 4 super bowls.

I think it is time for Belichick and Brady to retire.

That stat is 100% meaningless

Pats sometimes you make absolutely no sense.

So if a team is 32nd in pass defense, it is meaningless???

If a team is last in rushing offense, it is meaningless???

There are stats inside the redzone for the same exact reasons and if you think every coach doesn't have all the numbers in their back pocket, then you are wrong.

Bottom line is everyone crying "Why didn't they give Lynch the ball".

Yet Lynch has failed to get into the end zone 80% of the time this year from the exact predicament they were facing...

It is meaningless. The sample size is too small to be meaningful.

Over a sample size of 5 in a very specific situation, that short yardage example is meaningless.

if your gonna tell me I make no sense atleast do it when I say some dumbass shit rather than you being the 1 saying the dumbass shit

Your 32nd in pass defense/rushing offense as an equivalency to using 5 carries to determine a players goal line running prowess is the worst false equivalency I've ever seen on this forum.
