Really jump to conclusion here don't we...

1. Why make up stories? How would he benefit from this? I guess gaining a few extra RX shirts so far. Sound worth it?

2. 8 cars? Pretty sure he would be refering to his mother in law and other family members that more than likely have their own vehicles and decided to car pool out of their town.

3. I personally would not want a dog in my car on that trip.....4 miles in 4 hrs with children...don't even know how many or how old they are, but pretty sure adding a dog (which by the way, could be a huge ass dog for all you know) would make it pretty uncomfortable. I am glad some people have figureed out how to travel with a dog...........Smart ass

4. Some people and there responses are embarrassing for those posters typing them.

Good luck with everything PO69

Tamers Take

I didn't plan on getting involved in this thread though some things don't add up but I had to respond to your first point Line Tamer. Over the past few years I've been associated with the internet forums, we have seen individuals share their tragedies and generally some type of "fund" gets started on their behalf. The individual doesn't have to ask to have this done, someone normally does this out of the kindness of their hearts and people join in by contributing money. Not saying this is the case here but the hurricanes have bought out many scammers and opportunists who are trying to use this tragedy to cash in. The internet is not immuned from these scammers. I wish not only PO69 but everyone in that region who are affected the best and will keep them in my prayers.

Just a side note: My wife is a manager at a popular retail chain and she told me, some people have mentioned (and not ask) again mentioned that they lost everything in the hurricane sob story trying to get free stuff. I had to ask her how do they do this? walk in the store and say loud while speaking, "yeah you know we lost everything and have no money!" and she said pretty much. :icon_conf Tragedies seem to bring out the worse in some people. So if you get an email or people are on the side of the road or at the grocery store collecting money, ask question before donating your hard earned money.

FWIW - Playersonly69 was posting from a Kinkos IP yesterday and a public library IP today. He also gave me a shipping address for his shirts directly in the path hurricane Rita took this weekend (the house still standing)..

Possible it was partly due to this ,not all cultures have the same feelings or emotional attachments to dogs as others....in america particularly, the attatchment we americans have to pets can almost be the same as a human being.

Very Good Point Journeyman...... Unless we have all the facts we should not make assumptions.

1) many of you assume he is lying but wilheim has presented coroborating IP evidence.

2)I feel bad for those dogs, but I am happy as Heck that PO69's family is safe & sound....

3) I am sure if PO69 could redo it, he would have taken another car with the dogs...

Best of Luck po69!!!!

Go2Guy, earlier in the thread (post #13) PO69 asked for the shirts to be sent to his brothers house nearby which survived the storm in tact.

Those could be some ferocious ass dogs - you must have them trained well - the site of the Presas just scares me - your pit is cute though.

The Pit is very submissive to the Pressa who is the alpha male in my house. His name is Tazz and he is one of the most Loyal Dogs in the world..
FYI:
Since the 16th century, the Presa Canario has been mentioned in documents of the Canary Islands. It is assumed that it was introduced into the Islands by the Conquistadors and Spanish Colonialists. With time and in the isolation it has become a breed in its own right. It is also believed that it has been influenced by other breeds from Great Britain, Cuba, etc.. The Presa Canario is known to be a cross between the Olde English bulldogge, English Mastiff, and the fiery Bordino Majerro Cattle Dog. What is certain is that this dog, of sizeable body and head and extraordinary temperament, has always been used in the Canary Islands to guard farms and cattle. It is an extraordinarily powerful looking dog with a severe gaze. Especially suited to guarding and defense. It is of firm temperament with a grave and deep bark. The Presa Canario (Dogo Canario) is affectionate, docile and well behaved with his owner and family, but fierce with strangers. Independent and aggressive with other dogs, both of his own breed and other breeds. It has been used in the past as an excellent fighting dog. After the banning of dog fighting on the islands, the Canary dog undertook his role in the world as a natural guardian and family companion.

"As a guardian breed with man-stopping ability there is no dog that is more effective than the Canary Dog. It remains and incredibly powerful and fearless animal, it is known for its great devotion to its human family, and it is known to accept children in the home. This is a dog that will stay by its master's side at all times and is never known to stray. This dog is protective by nature and will not hesitate to attack anyone whom it perceives as a threat to its family or home. Such an attack could only be a hopeless situation for any man involved."

DANTE...I apoligize. it was not you who made what i considered to be a most insulting remark. i made a mistake.

im not even going to name the person but it really made me feel awful that someone would post a remark like this...i know we all type without thinking sometimes but this one really was a low blow...
"If it wasnt for a tragedy occurrin it would read as someone wanting to make sure that everyone knew how MUCH they had "

again to judge how anyone would react to such a sudden catastrophe is imo wrong...thats the end of this story for me..

PO69,

I can't believe you wouldn't take your animals to your "other house" which was in higher grounds. Pathetic you are. You KILLED 2 animals that were helpless. Least you could have done was taken them to higher grounds. But I am so so so happy for your PS2 you pathetic shit. I have no sympathy for anyone who is so concerned about a PS2 and some guitars then for a living animal.

Its a different story if you were some poor shit, but damn by the sounds of it you have enough money and means to take your pets.

As for all the people that lay claim to how you have no preperations for these events.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT, YOU LIVE IN A HURRICANE ZONE. YOU HAVE YOUR DAMN LIFETIME TO PREPARE FOR THIS. Here let me give you a word of advice on how/what to prepare for the next time. A FUCKING HURRICANE.

Its not like this is some unannnouced terroist attacks. Its not like you woke up Sunday morning and looked out the window and said shit my house is under water.

Don't mean to be some heartless person but damn all this hurricane shit everywhere you look is starting to piss the fuck out of me. LISTEN YOU CHOOSE TO LIVE WHERE YOU LIVE IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THERE ARE THERE ARE MANY OTHER PLACES TO LIVE.

Kiss !, we are on the same page, but i sure am not going to get in the middle of this. Some people just have different priorities. I lost aShitzhu last year that was the spitting image of your picture after 17 years. Still trying to get over it.I do wish the best for anyone that had the problems that a lot of people have had over the last three weeks.

I saw Anderson Cooper standing outside of a house that had X Sep 22 a 0 and Cat writen on the front door.

The X meant is was checked

The Sep 22 meant the date it was checked

The 0 meant number of people inside

The Cat meant there was a live cat in there, apparently waiting to be rescued...

Im fully aware that this thread was not intended to be about animals but man it disheartens me to see people lock an animal inside a house to fend for itself and flee themselves.

If you leave the house its because you are fully aware of the imminent danger. If you decide to leave the animal behind, heck at least give it a chance, but leaving them in a locked home, that I find disheartening. :(

thanks for your critique of my comments, however the fact that you want them removed, doesnt really matter, i have a rigth to express my opinion, just like anyone else.....And i stand by what i said.....With all the despair that has happened down there, someone's priority of going to a kinkos to enter contest picks, and make posts about their guitars, playstations, and let us know they have 8 cars, 3 houses, etc....seems very odd....and to make a point to let everyone know that you packed the "material" things, and left behind the living/breathing creatures, still smacks of selfishness, anyway you slice it....if u dont like my comment, dont read it.....I dont criticize yours, and have a right to mine.....If i packed up my whole family, and everything i had, and headed out, only to find out i lost my house, i simply CAN'T see myself saying "honey, you and the kids stay here in the motel room, I need to run to Kinkos and get my contest picks in, and make some posts"......

I never stated, i didnt BELIEVE it happened, i just think the whole story is odd.......And for you remark about a mod "locking the thread"...I moved the thread as soon as PO69 and Seymour started going at it, and it got moved back, by another mod........

I'm one of those suckers I guess who loves my animals, they are part of the family, period. I know some don't feel the same way but that is cool, we're all different. In fact I got divorced not long ago and we didn't fight over the house, cars or money, just the pets. No way in hell was I giving any of them up without a fight. I'd jump off a fucking bridge and do myself in if I had left any of them behind to die.

Having said that I wish all the best for the writer of this thread. I am in Biloxi right now helping a close family friend, him and plenty others have really and truly lost everything they own. At this point they have that stare, that stare of someone who is still in a daze after a loss so catastrophic they still don't believe it. Most are trying to reclaim any semblance of their life they had before the storm. Enough of that though, best wishes Playersonly, good luck with your plays in the contest.
