I love my Martin and Takamine, but I'd die before leaving Molly behind. You took *four* cars and left four behind ?

Something about this whole story sounds a bit far fetched to me.

Anyway before the attacks begin on K1 ...

Best wishes and good luck with your situation. I hope your local poker room opens up soon ...

This forum never ceases to amaze me! People are actually critical of Seymour? UFB!!! If I have 5 mins to evacuate, I get my kids and my pets in the car, and then any valuables I have room for....oops, I forgot my wife, oh well, I'm sure she'd take care of herself! LOL
I can't feel too sorry for PO69, after all, he has his classic guitars. The amazing thing is that he offered this information himself, he says he couldn't take the pets in the cars with him. Could anyone explain why? I have taken pets in the car with me on multiple occasions....gee, I must be a genius, I figured out how to do it. But I'm not smart enough to figure out how PO69 can justify leaving his pets behind.

Glad inot the only one that was thinking that......I feel sorry for anyone that suffered a loss from the natural disasters.....But i feel even more for the people that dont have 8 cars, and worry about packing them with playstations, or he people that don't have the "other home" to go back to......

seems very odd to me the way this was worded, or the info that we "needed" to know.......If it wasnt for a tragedy occurrin it would read as someone wanting to make sure that everyone knew how MUCH they had......

I do feel bad that you lost things, but feel even worse for the pets, and epople that stayed around and suffered because they wouldnt leave their pets........

Hopefully everything works out...

G.....I was kinda waiting to hear something like this...knowing where you were i was thinking you'd get it pretty hard. i hope like hell you can pull thru it ok.

I want you to know that i feel like shit that i cant come to your rescue, im virtually right down the street from ya but unable to offer you anything but prayers...between the 2 storms all i lost was my elec for a few hours, but moneywise they have bankrupted me. ill more than likely lose my buisness in the next month as its unable to function in a city built for 200,000 that now houses over half a mill. the 15 min drive to take my son to work now avg's over 45 mins. i used to be able to see close to 20 customers a day now im lucky to get to 4...there is nothing simple here anymore. there is not a non-ghetto rental property avail here for miles around...every house on the market under 300,000 sold the 1st week after katrina...ive got a small rental property that ill put up for sale today(ghetto) and unless it sells within the week im looking to move to georgia to mooch off my daughter there. food and gas here a major hassle..you dont pull up to mcdonalds and place your order, they tell you what they have and you take it or leave it. in the last 3 days theres been 1 station with gas and of course it sold out in a few hours. ive got to go into baton rouge to get anything.

It's hard to describe how much life here has changed in the last 3 weeks and believe me when i tell you its changed forever...with your background and education and im sure you'll get back on your feet just give it time, things are moving very slowly but they are moving.

as for me im not sure i want to take the several steps down in life that im currently looking at and i dont have the background, education or for that matter the drive to start my life over at this age and i admit the final option has crossed my mind a lot in the last few days. not being able to help a friend in need just adds to my misery. ive got a few family members that depend on me but im of little use to them either. i can deal with my own losses but the seeing the losses of others and not being able to a damn thing about it is a burden i have never imagined.

i keep remembering that t.v preacher who used to say "expect your miracle".....i hope you and your family get yours. soon......

I have family in Houma and this is where I stayed for the storm. Did you get a chance to see the coverage on the Houma local chanel about Doulac? That place looks just as bad as N.O. It was on HTTV. Channel 10.

We live in the LAKES SUBDIVISION...and unlike the name itself, stayed hi and dry like everyone else on the west side....those poor folks on the south side got everything New Orleans got as far as flooding...everything but TV coverage, sympathy, or helicopters flying in to repair the levees..

I think the point people are trying to get across is that , yes, we feel sorry for the situation but fact remaining, time was not an issue (due to being able to pack FOUR cars, games and movies) and the choice of choosing to leave pets behind. Many people, in fact, regard their animals as their children (I have a 13 yr old son and a 3 yr old "daughter" my dog Shake) leaving her behind would be the same as leaving my son behind.

Glad to hear you have somewhere to go and all your "human" family is well. PO69 hopefully you can understand some of the comments in this thread to be valid, just too bad people couldn't express themselves a little better without having you feel belittled.

GOOD LUCK AND TAKE CARE

Not AS but definitely more important than any games and movies. Point being...to each their own, to slam someone for not taking their animals is WRONG but so is slaming someone for choosing otherwise!

One way or another, he and his family is well and that's that!

My heart goes out to all who suffered a loss due to this catastrofic cane.

Don't be so naive and take everything people say at face value choptalk.

Do you mention 8 cars, 8 "classic" guitars and your "practice" in the same story that includes leaving your pets behind and the local card room got flooded ?

Parden me for questioning the post and bear in mind I've got PO69's history of somewhat bizzare storys as a background referance ( In MY own mind )

Posting from a Kinko's to the Rx when your home has been destroyed ?

Do you think he is playing in a couple of "on-line" tourneys too ?

Great post K1. My heart goes out to all who have lost due to these terrible disasters, but no offense to anyone here, I would definitely not be posting messages on a handicapping posting board at Kinko's.

Just my opinion here, but living things, including the ones with fur, come with me first. If you are properly insured (as most in these areas hopefully are, as your bank would not lend you money if you were not), most of the material possessions will be covered by insurance.
