I love my dog like a family memeber and I just would never leave him alone with a hurricane looming - I just find that unimaginable that someone would do that.

Nothing wrong with liking dogs and cats, but obviously you do not live in a storm zone like me and playersonly. You cant plan for these things. Its not like he wanted his pets to die.

That's interesting that I don't live in a high risk area - last time I looked Miami was landing area number 2 behind the keys - as I recall I just went with no power for a week when Katrina came through - I feel bad for this guy - I just cannot fathom packing FOUR CARS with PLAYSTATIONS and GUITARS and leaving my dog - WTF is that?

Seems a bit over the top Seymour, the guy just has been through a terrible ordeal...I'm sure he feels bad about losing the pets without people piling on.

Not trying to be a dick, but it does seem strange to me that they packed up and left the house but left their pets there. Hey, it's his pets so his choice. Just seems a little odd, that's all.

Nevertheless, hope things turn around for you PO69.

I'm sure the hotel he was headed to wouldn't have a problem with him bringing his horse and cattle as well.

Oh yes, WILDBILL, my rxshirts went down with the ship before i could ever even wear them. Any chance that you could send a few to my brothers house? I really could use the clothes more than anyone here right now and would probably wear them much more until I can get to a store like Dilliards.

Sorry to hear all this man. I don't have any of the shirts, but I am sure one of the mods or Wilhelm can help you out.

Its so hard to hear all these stories this year and then have some people turn them into battles for moral or political purposes. Can't we all just remember at the bottom of these tragedies there are people who suffered greatly?

it isn't until something like this hits someone you know that the scope of what happened becomes reality. when something happens to "the other guy" it is sad - but not as big of a deal as when it hits someone you know - like here

Hopefully things will turn out OK for PO69 and in a few years he will look back on this moment and somehow get a smile out of it (NOT likely - but maybe?)

The hurricane destroyed my house and all that was in it. We were not expecting it to hit our region and we didnt take it all out. I am paying at kinkos right now, but will get the story in later.

Good luck everyone

My prayer is with you this Sunday.

At least you have life and the insurance and FEMA moey will come in soon and you will be back in Buisness. I had a house fire and it took a while to get back in my house but everything ok and going well. I was sure that storm was goping to hit Houston and we rode it out ok. Here is a hint for you. Call a 3rd Party insurance adjustor. They will get your claim going and get your funds alot faster. they know how to file the right paper work to get your money from the insurance for hotel and other manies you may need now. They will be easy to work with due to they get a cut. They wanted 10% on my deal and I told them 3.5% and they did my cliam. But they also got me my MAX insurance back and a nice place to live. So I would suggest letting a service like that handle the insurance and you can take on FEMA. Plus just the mental part of not handleing it all is worth the fee. People don't understand that you go to bed with everything and wake up with just the shirt on your back. It is hard to deal with. Good luck and you are in our prayers.
