Actually I traveled for about 6 hours today on my way back to college, and have plans for the night. If I were to answer those questions to the extent that would prove I know what I am talking about, it will take time. I don't have time right now. Please keep the bullshit out of this thread. It clearly states only facts. No BS. Thank you.

Jake just because you had one good year at baseball that doesn't guarantee anything. Personal experience here I have gambled for ten years. The first nine no shit i won alot every year. This last year though i got killed dropped over 9k lost confidence chased my tail and even tried getting picks off this forum. That led to me getting even further in the hole. Hell i even tried fading myself. One good year in baseball or nine good years at all sports still don't mean a damn thing. And anyone who gambles knows that. I've been called sharp more times than you ever will but i don't feel to sharp now. Anyone who sells picks is full of shit and anyone who buys them deserve to lose. The fact is once you went tout you went south now everything is an excuse. I wouldn't buy your picks if you had nine good years because that tenth year you could fall to shit. There is no exact science to this so please just give it up.

Snake-

You don't make the rules down here, kid.

I don't want to hear your somber bullsh*t.

Take your quiz and shut the fuvk up until baseball season starts.

Ok, I'll answer these the way I would look at them, with my way of capping games. Instead of going into the questions too deep, I'll do it briefly, because quite frankly I don't feel I have to prove anything and this is the Rubber Room and all.

"1) Besides runs scored, which are the two most important offensive catagories a handicapper uses to evaluate a specific baseball team?"

On Base Percentage is big (hits/walks) and Slugging Percentage. Even though I consider many more statistics for figuring out offensive production, those two are fairly telling.

"2)SF is -160 favorite at home against Neagle/Colorado. Late word out of SF says Bonds tweaked his back during batting practice and will be replaced by Marquis Grissom. How much should the line be adjusted, and explain the reasoning behind the adjustment."

The line should be adjusted depending on what percentage of the Giants offense Bonds is at the time. I can't tell you the adjustment without that.

"3) You like the under in the New York/Chicago game. One book has the under at 7.5 -130. Another out has it at 7 -105. Which line offers the best value and explain your reasoning."

Good question. As far as which line historically has more value, couldn't tell you. If I capped the game at 7 I would lay off. If I capped it at 6.5 I would take under 7. I never want to lay 130 on a total. That's how I'd look at it.

"4) Next day: you again like the under for NY/Chi. One book has the line at 8 -105; another has it at 8.5 -125. Which line offers the best value and explain your reasoning."

If I capped it at 7.5 or 8, I'd take under 8.5, if I capped it at 7, I'd take under 8. My reasoning being -125 is a little cheaper than the other -130 example I guess.

"5) The Mets are starting a pitcher just promoted from AAA in tonight's game against the Expos. What methods would you use in evaluating this rookie's chances of success in his major league debut against Montreal?"

Look at his stats in the minors. Look at what leagues he's played in. What teams/coaches. How highly he's looked upon by certain institutes that do prospectus reports. Check out how Montreal has been hitting against pitchers they've seen for the first time. Other things too, but those are a few I'd do.

Sorry I didn't answer in better detail, but I have better things to do right now.

There were 3 rules. I know you can read. Figure it out. If you want to be down in the RR all day, then that's cool, I'm not dogging ya, but that doesn't mean that you own the place. Please respect the rules of the thread. It's not a bash session. Thanks buddy.

Jake - I don't do totals much in bases so I probably know less than you about them. However without getting too deep in this you MUST know how much a .5 run is worth in order to even begin to play totals. You also must recognize the significance of the numbers in both sides and totals for any sport you participate in. How much is a .5 goal worth in pucks? How valuable is a 3 in football and how much should you pay to get on or off? I'm sure the point he was making or touching on was to see if you recognize the difference in playing off numbers like 7 and 8 in baseball. Do you know the %'s of how often a game will land on these numbers? Might surprise you.

Not only do you need to know what they are worth but why. I'm sure you know this but there are key numbers in every sport that come into play for both sides and totals. You need to know what they are and how much they are worth for starters. Some numbers are much more valuable than others. How can you recognize value if you don't know what they are worth. Anyway not to butt in here, just wanted to let you know I think you are off base (no pun intended

) in the answers to what he was looking for. Of course I could have flunked as well.

Good luck Jake. I will be checking you out in bases all year again. I may be in the minority but I think you will do well. Surely 1 year doesn't mean shit but by the same token it doesn't automatically disqualify you from winning the next year either. Work on those #'s I told you above though if you don't know the answers. Your paying customers deserve this. Later....

Interesting that you would not take Grissom's numbers into account.

Thanks for the advice. Good luck this season.

Baseball season is coming soon and Jake wanted to whip-up some interest by reliving his record from *LAST YEAR* That's fine tho...

Jake, re-read our thread on paying for touts losing picks. You're a college kid it aint critical reading. But to sum it up...

You said you would *not* offer to sell your picks if you could pick 100% winners... So what are you selling?

jake, your answers to the questions posed to you are laughable and indicate how unsophisticated your knowledge is about getting value and understanding all angles about winning at sports betting.

kid, you were set up and re-exposed as a fraud.

thanks for the entertainment though, i am presently laughing at you.

Frank, what is the thread on paying for touts losing picks? Have a link? Also, if I was 100% guaranteed I'd hit every pick, there would be no reason to sell picks. I can't, and no one can. I can do better than 95-99% of baseball cappers in my opinion, which is valuable in this world of gambling where the losers far outnumber the winners. Good luck this year Frank.
