Fade Adams Friday Game Analysis
[h=4]Friday's Selection ...[/h] For Friday night in college football, 1500♦ winner on the underdog Oklahoma Sooners as they play against their old conference-rival Texas A&M. As of 6:30 am eastern when I release my selection, the Sooners are +3 point underdogs. If your price is +3, go ahead and buy the half point up so we get OU +3 1/2 points.
These schools are no strangers to one another, and this season was the first in a very long time they did not face each other during the regular season thanks to A&M leaving for the "greener grass" of the SEC.
I have news for you, Oklahoma will not only be looking to pay Texas A&M back for their conference departure, but also be looking to get after Johnny Football and his Heisman Trophy-winning ass!
I don't doubt for one minute that the Oklahoma players have been watching redshirt freshman Johnny Manziel make the rounds on the late-night talk show circuit, watch the sport show highlight reels all tailored to just how great Manziel is. If you don't think the Sooners will use that as motivation tonight, you are nuts!
The Sooners have gone 11-2 straight up the last 13 times these former conference-rivals have met, and OU has won 8 of the last 9 straight up overall. Remember that as wonderful a season as Manziel has had, his counterpart Landry Jones is a senior, and is making his final career start for Bob Stoops' team!
That means something to me. Manziel will have other bowl games, this is it for Jones who will not want to be shown up by Johnny Football, and it is not exactly like Jones is a stiff or his team is a chump team. No, this Oklahoma team has gone out and won their last 3 bowl games, covering in their last pair.
This will be the Aggies 4th straight bowl appearance (1st under Kevin Sumlin), and while they did win and cover last season's game, they had dropped their previous pair both straight up and against the spread.
It is very rare when you get the Sooners in the underdog role, and Stoops track record against former assistants (Sumlin on staff in Norman 2003-07) winning 13 of 17 games against former staff members is undeniable.
Were this game being played in early December when the Aggies were riding "Johnny Football mania" I might feel differently, but with a full month-plus to eat, sleep, and shit Manziel's accolades, the Sooners will be ready!
Take the points.
