Fade Adams Sunday Game Analysis

[h=4]Sunday's Selection ...[/h] For Sunday in the NFL, Top-Rated 1000♦ is the Baltimore Ravens as the home favorite against the visiting Indianapolis Colts. At 10:05 pm eastern when I release my selection, the Ravens are -7 point favorites. If your price is -7 or even -7', go ahead and buy the half point down on Baltimore.

Interesting price here, as this line has a bit of "respect" built in, especially when you consider the fact the Ravens dropped 4 of their last 5 games to end the regular season. Of course Baltimore did have to play Washington, Denver and Cincinnati in that mix (all playoff teams), and also faced Pittsburgh and the New York Giants who were on the playoff cusp. Definitely not an easy row to hoe, but 1-4 is 1-4.

That being the case, one would think the Colts are the play here, as Indy is riding a very emotional wave for coach Chuck Pagano, and they do come to their old hometown with a 5-1 straight up mark, and a 4-2 spread mark in those 6 games.

My issue with the Colts is their youth. I think they are still a season or two away from really being a contender. Sure, the points are tempting, but Indy did lose key games in the second half of the season at New England and Houston - dropping both as double-digit dogs against the spread.

This game feels like a "trap". Baltimore's aging team knows this is probably their last shot, and Joe Flacco has certainly played his best football in his home stadium this year, passing for 100 yards per game more at M&T Bank Stadium.

Ray Lewis playing and making his retirement announcement brings some of the emotion of this game back to the Baltimore side, so mark me down for a play on the Ravens to find a way to cover this number.

Trace Adams Monday Game Analysis

[h=4]Monday's Selection ...[/h] For Monday in college football, 2000♦ Double Your Wager Winner #11 of 16 overall is on the underdog Fighting Irish of Notre Dame plus the points against the Crimson Tide of Alabama. At 8 am eastern when I release this selection, the Irish are +9 1/2 point underdogs. If your line is +9 1/2, I want you to buy the half-point up on Notre Dame, taking them to +10 points.

This game totally reminds me of the championship game played back in 2002 when Miami-Florida and Ohio State both came into the title game undefeated, and nobody in the world (including me!) gave the +12 point underdog Buckeyes any chance to win the game. What happened? Ohio State shocked the country with an outright victory.

I can see the same thing happening tonight. On paper this looks like a mismatch in favor of the SEC heavyweight Alabama, but they don't play the game on paper!

Nick Saban and company definitely own the "big game" experience advantage, as this will be Alabama's 3rd championship game in the past 4 years, and they are the defending national champs after blanking LSU 21-0 in last year's game.

That's all fine and dandy, and that certainly holds water as a valid argument, but the last time I checked, it is Notre Dame that is undefeated and also ranked #1. The Irish roster has near 30 seniors on it, and they also have the crafty head coach Brian Kelly at the helm. He may not have the track record Saban has, but after tonight he may be well on his way.

Alabama looked mortal in their escape-job win over Georgia in the SEC title game, and while they may have enough to get by tonight, I can honestly say I do not see them pulling away from the Irish. I have this game being close the whole way, making the near double-digit spot that much more valuable.

Let's close this college season out on a winning note. Take Notre Dame plus the points.

Fade Adams Tuesday Game Analysis

[h=4]Tuesday's Selection ...[/h] For Tuesday in college basketball, Top-Rated 1000♦ Dog Shocker is the Alabama Crimson Tide as the road dog against the Missouri Tigers. As of 8:00 am eastern time when I post my selection, the Tide is a +10 point underdog in Columbia.

A night after their football team won the National Championship, look for Anthony Grant to motivate his underachieving team to at least be close tonight at Missouri.

Alabama is just 8-5 straight up this season, and they come to this new conference rival having dropped 5 of their last 7, but they are off a 20-point win over a decent Oakland team their last time out.

Mizzou is up to #12 in the nation and stand at 11-2 with a perfect 8-0 straight up mark on their home court. The Tigers have been playing them close of late though, as they dropped an overtime game to UCLA just before the new year, and followed that with a narrow basket win over Bucknell in a non-lined home affair.

At home Missouri is just 1-3 against the spread in lined games, as the oddsmakers continue to overprice Frank Heath's team when playing on their home floor.

Alabama has cashed in 3 of 5 times on the road thus far, and with this being the conference opener for both schools, very important the backsliding Tide keep pace tonight.

'Bama may not have enough to win outright, but with Releford leading the way, look for them to be close. Oh, and expect a better effort from the other Trevor...Lacey who was 0-for-5 from the floor in the win over Oakland and scored just 4 points, but does average over 12 ppg for Anthony Grant's team.

Missouri holds back the Tide, but they do not cover tonight. Take Alabama plus the points.

Fade Adams Wednesday Game Analysis

[h=4]Wednesday's Selection ...[/h] For Wednesday night in college basketball, Top-Rated 1000♦ Road Warrior Lock is the Louisville Cardinals as the favorite against the Seton Hall Pirates. At the time I release my selection, the Cards are -11 point road favorites versus the Pirates.

Gonna lay the wood tonight with the Redbirds, as the Cards (no pun intended) are now playing with a full deck. Pitino's team welcomed back their big man Gorgui Dieng after missing most of December with injury, as the 'Ville heads to New Jersey ranked #4 in the nation.

Seton Hall would love to knock off their conference rival, and the Pirates do sport a 12-3 record that has seen them go a perfect 7-0 on their home hardwood. Problem is, the Hall just failed their first real "step up" game on the road, getting crushed by 19-points in a loss at South Bend.

Only a matter of time before the rested Redbirds - last game was on the 2nd when they avenged a loss to Providence from last season, beating the Friars by 18 as the -18 1/2 point favorite.

Louisville has won and covered the last 3 in this series, look for the superior backcourt play of Smith and Siva to wear this Seton Hall team down, and for the Cardinals to stretch this margin before the 40 minutes of play are up.

Road Warrior Lock on Louisville.

Trace Adams Thursday Game Analysis

[h=4]Thursday's Selection ...[/h] For Thursday night in the NBA, Top-Rated 1000♦ Best Bet on the visiting Miami Heat as the favorite against the Portland Trail Blazers. As of 8:00 am eastern time when I release my selection, Miami is a -3 1/2 point favorite over Portland.

Used Miami on Tuesday as a Pay-After selection, and we all know how that ended, as the Heat were held to a season-low 77 points in a 10-point loss at Indiana. That loss drops Miami to 3-4 straight up their last 7 games, and a woeful 1-6 against the spread in those 7 games.

Still, I think the play tonight is to back Miami and look for the poor-rebounding Heat to put together one of their more focused efforts this Thursday night against a surging Portland team.

The Blazers are on an 11-3 straight up run their last 14 games, and they have won 8 straight on their home court. Those numbers will grab the competitive attention of Miami, as the Heat need to get back on the winning track tonight.

Series numbers show the visiting team has won each of the last 5 series meetings, and 7 of the last 8 meetings overall. Miami has won and covered each of their last 3 trips to Rip City, and are 7-2 against the spread their last 9 times visiting the pacific northwest.

Taking the Heat to pull away late for the win and cover over the Blazers.
