Fade Adams Christmas Game Analysis

[h=4]Christmas Selection ...[/h] For Christmas night in the NBA, Top-Rated 1000♦ Best Bet is the Chicago Bulls as the small home favorite against the visiting Houston Rockets. As of 10:05 pm eastern when I release this selection, the Bulls are priced as the -4 1/2 point home favorite.

Second meeting this season between the teams, as Houston won a 93-89 decision as the 1-point home favorite back on November 21st. I like Chicago to return the favor tonight at home.

The Bulls have been a money-burner on their home floor, going just 3-11 against the spread, but with this price pretty reasonable, and the fact the Rockets have gone just 3-7 away from home, and 3-6-1 against the spread in those road games, willing to lay it with the Bulls on their home floor.

The Rockets have caught a bit of an updraft, winning 3 in a row and 5 of their last 6, but being on the road on Christmas takes its toll tonight. Go with the Bulls as the small home favorite to notch a rare cover on their hardwood.

Fade Adams Wednesday Game Analysis

[h=4]Wednesday's Selection ...[/h] For Wednesday night in the Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl, back Central Michigan as the unerdog as they play against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. As of 8:30 am when I release my selection, the Chippewas are the +6 1/2 point underdog. If your line is +6 1/2 or +7, I want you to buy the half point up on CMU.

Initially when the bowl pairings were announced, I had Western Kentucky checked off as my selection, and while I am not a big believer in going against my initial reaction, I am forced to do so in this spot because I do NOT see WKU getting the cover in this game. Oh, they may get the outright win, but this one is going to be close.

First of all, the Hilltoppers lost one of their main defensive cogs Q. Smith to a torn ACL in the next-to-last-game of the regular season. His 12 sacks are going to be hard to compensate for in this evening's affair.

Then there is the fact that head coach Willie Taggert left the team for the warmer climates of South Florida and will NOT be involved in this game. DC Lance Guidry will be the interim head coach tonight, while Bobby Petrino (don't get me started on this clown!) is waiting in the wings to take over the program in Bowling Green for the forseeable future.

Finally, closing the season at 2-4 both straight up and against the spread their final 6 games, while allowing 31 points or more in those 4 losses. Hard for me to be convinced that based on that lack of defense this team will be able to shut the door on the cover against the upstart Chipps who come into this game with 3 straight wins and covers and wins and covers in 4 of their last 5.

Central Michigan also gets the benefit of playing close to their home campus in Mt. Pleasant, and have sold-out their allotment of tickets for this game.

This is 3rd year coach Dave Enos' first bowl game with CMU, and I look for the Chippewas to be up for the call. Take the points in this one.

Trace Adams Thursday Game Analysis

[h=4]Thursday's Selection ...[/h] For Thursday in college football, Highest-Rated 2000♦ Winner #11 of 14 overall goes on the favored UCLA Bruins as they take on the Baylor Bears in this evening's Holiday Bowl. As of 10:30 pm eastern time on Thursday when I release my selection, the Bruins are -3 point favorites in Vegas and offshore. If your price is -3 or -3 1/2, I want you to buy the half point down on the Uclans.

Must respect the job the Baylor Bears did to close the regular season, as they followed up their dog outright win over then #1 ranked Kansas State with wins over Texas Tech and Oklahoma State to close the year at 7-5. That is all fine and well, and while the Baylor offense is high-scoring, this Bears defense scares the living daylights out of me. The stop unit is simply not good, and UCLA has the weapons on both the ground and through the air to exploit it.

UCLA played Stanford twice to end the season, once in their Pac 12 finale, and then once in the Pac 12 Championship Game. Yes, the Bruins lost both straight up, but they did only lose the title game by a field goal as the +9 point underdog.

My feeling is the Bruins - under 1st year coach Jim Mora Jr. feel they have some "unfinished" business to take care of in this game, and they are gunning for their first 10 win season since 2005.

Uclans playing in-state for this bowl game and will have the crowd on their side. Baylor playing in their 3rd straight bowl game, but their 1st bowl game outside of the state of Texas since 1991.

Mission accomplished this Thursday night for the veteran UCLA Bruins as they come up with a touchdown or better win over the leaky Bears of Baylor.

Lay the points.
