Trace Adams Sunday Game Analysis
[h=4]Sunday's Selection ...[/h] For Sunday, Week 15 of the NFL season, 1500♦ Raise the Bar Sunday Winner #5 of 6 is the underdog San Francisco 49ers against the New England Patriots. At the time I release this pick to you, the Niners are the +4 1/2 point underdogs against the Pats.
Possible Super Bowl preview here? Could very well be.
In today's meeting, I will side with the visiting underdog to make things a little tougher than the then 11-1 Texans did just last Monday night when New England did what they wanted when they wanted, and rolled to a 42-14 romp at home.
I have a feeling that 42-14 rout of the 11-1 Texans has given us a little bit of a line bump, and I will exploit that to my advantage. San Francisco has been money in the dog role under Jim Harbaugh, as the 49ers are 5-1-1 against the spread in his second season as head man in Frisco. That mark includes an outright win by San Francisco way back on Week 1 when the Niners went into Lambeau and won 30-22 as the 5 1/2-point pup.
New England has reeled off 7 straight wins, and they have covered in 4 of their last 6 wins, but I have a feeling things will not come as easy this week at home for Tom Brady as they did last week when everything #12 called worked. The San Francisco defense has some teeth, and after watching how NOT to defend the Patriots last Monday, look for SF to make the adjustments needed to keep Brady and company in check.
Taking the points as the Niners use the combination of a solid running game and a solid defense to stay right there all night with host New England.
