Tuesday's Selection ...
For Tuesday night in college football, Top-Rated 1000♦ selection is the Toledo Rockets as the home favorite against the visiting Ball State Cardinals. As of 8:30 am eastern, the Rockets are listed as the 6 1/2-point fave.
Make no mistake, Ball State is going to be hanging around in this game, and we might have to sweat this one a little, but in the end the Toledo Rockets find a way to get both the straight up win and the against the spread cover for us.
Ball State has been a profitable play as the road underdog, as the Cardinals have covered both in that role this season - covering at Clemson and winning outright at Indiana - to put them at 16-4 against the spread as the road underdog the past 4 seasons! Heady stuff indeed, but this is Toledo's year my friends.
The Rockets have taken off under first year coach Matt Campbell, winning their last 8 games after opening the season with a near-upset of Arizona back on September 1st in overtime against the Wildcats.
Toledo has also covered 3 of their 4 homes games this season, and a win tonight puts them in the driver's seat as the West Division rep in the MAC title game to come the end of November.
The Rockets have bested the Cardinals in each of the last 3 meetings, while covering in 2 of those 3. The favorite has been able to cover 4 of the last 5 series showdowns as well.
Going to side with the hosts to roll to win #9 in a row as they make it 4 straight series wins over the Redbirds at the Glass Bowl this Tuesday night.
Pay-After-You-Win - 500* Denver Nuggets
There is a reason an 0-3 team is laying double-digits to another 0-3 team, and I think tonight you are going to find out just why the 0-3 Nuggets are laying 10-points or so to the 0-3 Detroit Pistons.
This is Denver's first home game of the year after opening with losses at Philadelphia, Orlando, and Miami. Expect them to be ready to take out some frustration on the 0-3 Pistons who did just get routed at the Lakers on Sunday night for their third loss in as many games.
Denver has held the upper-hand in the recent meetings, winning the last 4 series meetings, while going 2-2 against the spread in those wins.
On paper, laying double-digits look like a ton of points, but remember, things tend to get away quickly in the NBA when you can hoist up a three-pointer anytime down the court.
I will lay it and look for Denver to notch their first win in convincing fashion in front of the home faithful. Sorry Detroit, you will have to wait another night for your first win of the season.
