Trace Adams Wednesday Plays with Analysis
Wednesday's Selection ...
For Wednesday night in the NBA, 1500♦ Raise the Bar Dog Shocker Game of the Month is the visiting Denver Nuggets as they play against the host Houston Rockets. At the time I release this selection, the Nuggets are +2 1/2 point underdogs to the Rockets.
A little bit of "fools gold" early for Kevin McHale's Rockets, as their 2-1 straight up mark is buoyed by the fact new acquisition James Harden and his beard have been lights-out early on for the surprising Rocket. Houston did come back to earth a tad after road wins at Detroit and Atlanta, as they lost their home opener to Portland by 10 points on Saturday, and even though they have had the extra days off, I still like the Nuggets to come to the Toyota Center and post the win.
I used Denver last night as a Pay-After release, and they did not disappoint, and even though this is a back-to-back situation for George Karl's team, their depth will keep them fresh come crunch time tonight. Expect Andre Iguodala to keep tabs on Harden, and Ty Lawson to contain Jeremy Lin, thus neutralizing Houston on their home court.
The Nuggets are off to an 0-3 start on the road this season, but they have won 4 of their last 6 trips to Houston outright, and are 5-2 against the spread the last 7 times they have played at the Toyota Center. Denver has had a rough early road-heavy schedule, but tonight they are up to the task, as Houston continues to try and find the right mix with the late addition of Harden to their line up.
Denver delivers!
[h=4]Pay-After-You-Win - 500* Boston Celtics[/h] Strangely scheduled back end of a home-and-home, as these teams last played on Saturday night in D.C. with Boston hanging on for an 89-86 road win, but not the cover as the 5 1/2-point favorite.
Tonight the line is pretty much doubled, but I have reason to believe the C's will get on top of this impost tonight at home. Boston has been able to win the last 4 meetings between the clubs in Beantown, and they have covered in 3 of those 4 wins - the average impost being right around a dozen points.
With John Wall still sidelined, this shapes up to be the Rajon Rondo show tonight all night long. Boston did lose their only other road game thus far, as they were caught napping by the Milwaukee Bucks after the Celts had lost in Miami to open the season against their hated-rival the Heat.
With a few extra days to prepare for the same foe, look for Boston to stretch this margin to about 15 before it is all said and done.
Absolute Blowout on Boston tonight in the NBA.
