I already have some money on Denver (also lost some on Denver over Boston) so I hope -375 is right, I’ll probably have a better picture of the series after a few games. Nuggets are a different type of team than we’re used to so they’re a little tough to gauge at the beginning of these series.

You don’t really see teams at the highest levels this leaned into offense with some of the deficiencies they have defensively. They’re also hasn’t been an elite big man centric offense in awhile, so that’s also tougher to gauge. They’re a unique team.

I thought lakers actually did run bad in that series vs them from a shooting perspective (OMG I DISRESPECTED THE NUGGETS) and the series could’ve been a lot closer, but I also think the lakers are better than the heat.

I dunno, they should roll. But if games are close late, they did look shaky vs lakers and Jimmy could steal them. What’s it gonna look like when he’s attacking joker in 2 man game?

But no, I don’t think Miami is some 8th seed that shocked the world to get here like if the hawks or Knicks were in the finals.
Lakers were rolling.

Many thought they were going to win championship. I still have to give Nugs respect for being down 15 at half in LA and not just packing it in game 4 (still had 2 home games to finish series)

If we aren't grading teams on a curve Miami did lose 3 games in a row with 2 occurring on their home floor. Game 4 they got blasted 2nd half. Game 5 they got blasted. Game 6 they trailed just about the entire way until Boston did what Boston does....

They will really need Caleb Martin with his 60/50 splits to be competitive

Denver is better but they haven’t exactly been otherworldly

Lot of close wins. Games 2-5 really competitive with the lowly Wolves

Suns were just gutted after Booker/Durant. Basically just lower tier role players

Played Lakers well but again all the games were pretty competitive

Nuggets are a mediocre defensive team, would be one of the worst defensive teams to win the title at least in recent memory.

Heat will get some good looks this series

I still don't understand why its so hard to fathom this is a true #8 on an incredible rudy like run. Is that really disrespect?

Were we all waiting on the moment that Caleb Martin and Gabe Vincent put it all together?

Was Duncan Robinson some 3rd team all-nba player back in the day? Is this Kevin Love from 2011?

What exactly makes this not a true #8 seed? Because they were #1 a season ago? Also got swept 1st round the season before that...
Its not a true 8 seed as they were a 7 seed that lost its play in game.

They blew too many stupid regular season games this year. One of the most frustrating regular seasons that i have ever watched as a fan (been a fan since the beginning).

This is their 7th finals trip and probably the least excited i've ever been about them making finals (still pretty excited)

Denver is a bad defensive team. Heat are a terrible offensive team.

Denver is a bad rebound team. Heat are an even worse rebounding team.

I mean I could do this all day. If Miami grabs game 1(omg) or even game 2 i was wrong. If this isn't 2-0 after the first two I was wrong.

Just not seeing it. Remember they won the series but are coming in losing 3 of their last 4.

Denvers games are "well they won but didn't like completely dominate" there is a difference.

But who knows maybe I am missing something.

Got blasted in the play in game.

Played probably the worst 2 teams one could play in Hawks and Bulls and barely scraped by....barely.

If we are throwing away the grading curve it's something to look at...

They aren't a real 8 seed but get blasted by Hawks and down 3 to Chicago with 3 to go.

They are a real 8 seed. What makes it all that more amazing. If I wasn't betting I would be rooting for Miami.

What i hate about the suns stuff is this was only brought up after they lost(albeit the seeds were planted in the clippers series)

When they got Durant all I heard is this is at the very least a WCF team. Then it was all about how they still haven't lost a game with Durant.

Than it ended with----yeah suns were never that good.

Than Lakers series was....Lakers are simply better and Denver has no answers defensively. AD can average 18/10 and it won't be a problem as long as he brings his excellent defensive.

AD played his excellent defensive i believe he averaged more than 18/10 Lakers lose in 4 and its----o AD didn't do enough and Denver got kinda lucky.

I would like some of these takes before a series and not after. Not directed at you AV just everyone here in general.

Why is it the least exciting?
06- was their first time ever so very exciting
11 through 14- Lebron years. Wanted to tell all the haters that we were getting championships
20- bubble. Actually liked this team alot in regular season as they were peaking. Jimmy's first year with team and was cool seeing everything come together while everything in the outside world was pretty crappy

23- this is a pretty cool playoff run. Just the regular season was so dang crappy and not exciting. Thats why (for me) its the least

There just isn’t too much to say when one team is now -430

I could make a lot of pro-nuggs arguments but for what? They’re being given an 80% chance to win, not like me saying denver is gonna do XYZ is some secret

breaking down Celts/nuggs or nuggs/bucks would just be more intriguing

I think Bud is the only coach in league that wouldn't switch Giannis onto Butler.

Its like having a prime Deion Sanders and letting a wr cut u up for 200 yards every game and not using him.

I actually don’t have an issue with that

sometimes when teams are getting beat, people want them to adjust almost just for the sake of adjusting, but that’s easy from your couch. A lot of adjustments don’t work and these guys know this.

the reason Giannis on him worked in 2021 is because he’s going under the screens because butler jumper is broken but now it isn’t broken so he’s gonna have to get through the screens which he isn’t good at. Just better to have him as a help defender

and they blew 2 games late in the very last minutes, so it wasn’t like you’re getting killed w Giannis and have a ton of time to pivot here. It was on the fly.

I will say Bam 40-1 is pretty nice finals mvp odds

Right now is the peak of butler perception, but if they had a 2020 ECF MVP it would’ve been Bam.

also try to actually envision how they would beat Denver, Bam is gonna have to come up huge. They don’t even have another big besides zeller

also if Caleb Martin could get 4/9 votes from Jimmy…..

I don't think the Caleb Martin thing as absurd as you think it isPretty sure it's just for the series, not the playoffs as a whole

Jimmy was pretty crappy Games 4-6, was just fine in Games 3 and 7. Martin really was pretty great all series long.

Jimmy averaged less than 25ppg, shot pretty crappy. Obviously he does other things well, but even his defense was kind of meh at times.

I would have given it to Jimmy still, but I think it was at least a discussion
