Lebron didnt do the recruiting. He was Recruited.
Yep

Always funny hearing Celtics fans complain about “super” teams when their ONLY title in a few decades was forming one

LeBron also anchored those Heat teams and was far and away the best player on the championship runs

u think Tatum is really on the level of MJ, Steph, Lebron?

He is VERY good and deserved to be NBA first team. I just dont think he's at that level or will be at that level.

Young MJ and Lebron were AWESOME, even in their early playoff losses by the better team.

Tatum didnt show me much. He wasnt "the man" in the 4th quarter when needed. I still remember his game 2 post conference in the ECF when he said he was tired b/c the game started at 845. He's not there yet mentally.

Once I see his mental game step up a few levels, we'll reconsider
Tatum should never be in the same breath as LeBron and MJ even if he wins a title. He just isn’t that good. Nothing personal to him

Tatum was the 5th best player in the Finals last year lol shot 28% from 2!

Celts did a good job forming that super team.

They went from a crappy year where they landed the 5th pick in the draft to winning the NBA title

At least the HEAT were a playoff team when they landed Lebron and Bosh

The smart thing the C's did was when they realized they werent going to get past the HEAT, they got rid of their aged superstars to Brooklyn for $1.50 on the dollar to rebuild

Jayson (yes there is a Y in there) Tatum is probably the 2nd best American born star under 30 right now, him and Booker being top 2.

And really the only two you could see winning a title as the best player on a team right now. Edwards could get there. Maybe Young/Ja on the right team, small guards harder to build around.

Obviously you got some great foreign players but in general he should get a lot of bites at the apple.

That seems pretty dry, is it variance or cultural reasons?

Many stud players arent being developed properly.

These players know in middle school that their going D-1 and possible NBA. They get their asses kissed by the "higher ups" so the kids will play for their teams (b/c its all about winning now) and try to keep them on these teams so they dont leave.

Then these kids go to college with the intent of "1 and done" so how much are they really listening.

You think Bronny James is really listening to his coach? If he gets mad at his coach, he'll threaten to leave his school and his coach will get fired.

Look at Jaylen Brown. Does he even know how to dribble? Watch tapes on him. He's gonna make 50 mil a year and he cant even dribble.

Overseas players are getting trained better with fundamentals. You see the difference in the past 30 years. Look at 1992 olympic basketball compared to today.

Also, these 16 year old euros are playing basketball 10 hours a day against pros while our kids are in school (kids need to be in school)

And if Booker and Tatum are the 2 best American stars under 30, then we MUST do a better job marketing our younger guys

I think some of it is probably just simply money. The journey for these guys is more about getting that first big deal at 24. That’s the real championship, not some ring for winning the last game of the season. If you’re a max guy, that’s around 5/200 now (and going up), going to be tough to keep same motivation after that no matter who you were.

Why it is funny fans get all serious about their teams winning and losing, these guys make millions a month now, none of them are moving to London and living the rest of their lives in seclusion like Marvin Hagler after he lost to Leonard. It’s not that serious.

Some of it is probably just a variance dry spell though. Zion, Ja, Simmons turning out to be idiots, LaMelo seems pretty dumb, his brother died of injuries. But it is an interesting thing I noticed when looking at futures for next year, lot of old dogs still near the top.

Partly becasuse they got nothing else going on in their lives, their identity has tied into the identity of the "TEAM"

When the team loses, its like the individual is LOSING again......

Yes, fans take it 1000x WORSE than the players.

As we're still pissed that our favorite team lost 48 hours later, the team's star player multi millionaire is on vacation in cancun, atlantis, insert tropical vacation here,

I remember when my friends and i asked a member of the 04 sox about Jonny Damon playing for the rival yanks. That player chucked and said "good for him" as was happy that he was getting paid
