Big Lou,

Yes. I think the Chiefs can win the Super Bowl.

I think the biggest concern still has to be the defense. They are #27 in yards per game. But the Chiefs are #4 in points allowed per game at 16.2. There are also #6 in 3rd down pct. (teams have actually gone for 12 fourth downs on the Chiefs and only converted 4).

Kansas City is #24 against the pass, allowing 220 ypg and 8 tds through the air. The rush defense is also ranked #24, allowing 128 ypg and 5 tds on the ground.

I’ve listed the game recap and total net yards allowed:

Kansas City 27, San Diego 14
Priest Holmes rushed for two touchdowns and had 183 yards from scrimmage, and Kansas City limited San Diego to 232 total net yards in a 27-14 victory.

Kansas City 41, Pittsburgh 20
Priest Holmes scored three TDs to pace the Chiefs to victory over the Steelers. Kansas City gave up 380 total net yards. “Dante's return was the biggest play of the game for us," said guard Brian Waters. "Easily. Our offense wasn't doing anything. The defense was doing their best. But, man, when that play happened it just turned the whole game around."

Kansas City 42, Houston 14
Hall had a 73-yard punt return for a score in his return to Texas and Priest Holmes had 156 total yards and two touchdowns to lead Kansas City to a 42-14 victory over Houston, giving the Chiefs their first 3-0 start in seven years. Kansas City let up 316 total net yards.

Kansas City 17, Baltimore 10
Given a second chance by the blundering Baltimore Ravens, Dante Hall sprinted 97 yards into the NFL record book. Kansas City let up 326 total net yards.

Kansas City 24, Denver 23
The Broncos (4-1) had never trailed when Micah Knorr punted to Hall with a little more than 8 minutes left. His NFL record fourth touchdown return in four games came with 8:20 left and gave Kansas City a 24-23 victory over Denver and the Chiefs' first 5-0 start. Kansas City surrendered 469 total net yards.

Kansas City 40, Green Bay 34
“First off, it doesn't tell me anything I didn't already know. There's a special profile about this team," Chiefs coach Dick Vermeil said. "At no time on our sideline did anyone think we'd lost this football game." Green Bay amassed 440 total net yards against Kansas City.

Kansas City 17, Oakland 10
Kansas City's stingy defense held Oakland to 114 yards through the first three quarters, frustrating the offense that was the NFL's best last season. But let up 357 total net yards by the end of the game.

Kansas City 38, Buffalo 5
Dante Hall's 67-yard catch-and-run got them rolling and Priest Holmes scored three touchdowns as the Chiefs (8-0) became the league's only unbeaten team with a 38-5 rout of Buffalo. Kansas City let up 266 total net yards.

Although the Chiefs are letting up the yards this team has a lot of positives. Their coach is a true leader and has his team believing. They have the threat of Dante Hall which is enough to have the opposing team kick out of bounds, etc. They have an outstanding offensive line which I believe is a big key to their success. They have a running back who can do it all. Their weaknesses, the defense and receivers, could actually get better in the second half. The Chiefs will look to secure a first-week bye and get home field advantage, meaning two games at Arrowhead, one of the tougher places for visitors. The word I would use to describe the Chiefs this season is “versatile”. They’ve come from behind to win on the road. They’ve done it through the air, by ground and special teams.

I think the two toughest teams for the Chiefs would be Indianapolis and Tennessee. Indianapolis can score and keep pace with the Chiefs and Edgerrin is looking stronger. The Titans have experience and are one of the most physical teams in the league.

I am reminded of two situations which are similar. The Detroit Lions with Scott Mitchell had the league’s #1 offense heading into Philadelphia for a wild-card? game. But the Lions defense was ranked in the bottom 3rd (24th?). That defense could not overcome all the turnovers created by the offense. Secondly, the Minnesota Vikings never got their secondary figured out during their window of opportunity. This allowed opposing teams to pick them apart and stopped them from reaching the Super Bowl. Defense wins Championships. See Bucs, Ravens, Patriots.

The Chiefs have stated that they are 0-0 heading into the Cleveland Browns game. This is a great attitude to have. The first part of the season is history. How they play in the second half will determine whether they are Super Bowl bound.

My Super Bowl Fantasy Preview?: Week 16, Saturday, Dec 10, Kansas City Chiefs @ Minnesota Vikings at 5:00 pm est.

Cheers.

Would you do all of us a favor, stop dreaming with Miami! It aint happening! December is a great a month for the Dolphins.Boy it is cold up north.

Brian Griese is as good as Jay fielder and that aint saying much.

Miami---out!A team that is NOT complete!
Denver--has been out! Jake the Fake is going nowhere slowly!
Green Bay--What have they done lately? Ahman Green will help the cause by fumbling in crucial times of games down the road.
Cleveland---stop smoking tea bags and spend some of your money lou and get some good stuff!

Green Bay, Denver and Cleveland are all one check away from being out. Miami's slate still clean.

Hey Big One,
Is it possible that ALL teams will be eliminated before the season ends? There's a precious few still in contention and there's still two months to go.

thats the problem with this system arnie.as big lou keeps eliminating teams who have recently lost but finish up strong will not be in his picture but will make up the majority of the teams in the playoffs!

I don't mean to knock this since apparently has done well, but it looks like the Packers, Giants and Seattle are the only NFC teams left. While I am a season-ticket holder for the Pack, I'm glad this system still has them in, but I can't see them in the Super Bowl. I would think the Giants and Seattle must be hanging by a string after today's performances. And there's seven games to go.

I'm not trying to figure out the 12 teams that are going to make the playoffs. Just the one that's going to win it all.

Oh, and Big Lou's System is about Superbowl teams, not playoff teams. Personally, I think he knows what he is talkin about

So why don't you post Miami already and stop dreaming as they don't even make it to the playoffs! The team is a fraud!

Let's see if Baltimore can shut this team out! It really is not that hard to shut them down!
