captain,

Who cares about who wins the division? This thread is for determining the winner of the Super Bowl, not a specific division.

By the Bengals winning the division they qualify to win the super bowl, don't they?Just wanted to point out the record they may have as a division winner should they win the division.

You need to add Minnesota to that list......they will never win a super bowl.

Hey Killer what are the Vikings doing wrong that you say they will never win the super bowl? Don't like the coach,Moss, state,QB,city, colors,or just like winners?

Killer,

This project was invented to eliminate bias and closed minded thinking like your displaying here. Open your mind to the possibility that Minnesota CAN win a Super Bowl.

Big loo,

I must admit, I am beginning to enjoy your statistically based threads. They remind me of when I use to use stats to blindly bolster my selections.

Why dont you just post the parameters so everyone knows you are not tweaking them along the way. I wish I could have had a bet Miami were not on the list. No doubt every stat will be looked at to keep you future alive, and when you run out, there will always be ProPlaye to back up your delusion.

winbet,

When I was posting plays during the regular season I would always do a write-up to show people why I was wagering on a particular team. I do the same for any selections I make for the Wild Card, Divisional Round or Conference Finals as well. But when it comes to the Super Bowl, I do not release the information I use for one simple reason. I have spent decades gathering information and researching history and feel I have one of the most comprehensive Super Bowl databases around. I'm not going to just give that info away. I have posted my Super Bowl pick two years running and they have both hit but I did not give any information as to why I was on them.

I can assure you there is no tweaking of anything. No teams disqualified themselves this past week so there was no need to update this thread. If Miami does something to knock themselves out of Super Bowl contention, I will post it immediately.

Sorry in advance for pissing you off BL - but this may be the most worthless thing I have seen.

I'll tell you what - here is my list -

ALL 32 TEAMS IN THE NFL WILL NOT WIN THE SUPERBOWL!!!

At the end of the year, guess what - I got 31 out of 32 correct - not bad.

spinman,

I believe what you just posted is the most worthless post I've seen. Check out this thread before the first wild card game in January and then reply.

P.S. - Ignorance doesn't piss me off by the way.

Very interesting work Big Lou. I hope you'll let us know your criteria at some point, but the tease of trying to figure it out is kind of fun.

The Colts being put on the list while undefeated is pretty interesting. What did they do that the Chiefs haven't? The Chiefs have been winning games they didn't deserve to win for four weeks now. Also, the Chiefs run D is pretty crappy (in terms of YPC) and you'd think that would be a factor.

Also, Go Blue had a couple good questions back on page 2 of the thread that I hope you can answer when you have the chance. Is there some way you rank the remaining teams, like by the amount of criteria filled?

I remember you picking NE straight up. Whatever the haters say, that was pretty impressive. I mean, most would just be happy getting the right side against the spread.

Gamblor,

The Chiefs, even though they are undefeated, already have one strike.

Love this. If I had more time, I'd love to try to figure this out. It's like a mystery thriller. Who is next on the list? (Scream). Ah, there goes the Packers. Maybe ESPN can make this into a minseries. Who will Big Lou's system whack this week? The Titans are looking a bit paranoid, peeking around corners listening for Big Lou's footsteps. (Scream) Ah, there went Wannie and the Dolphins.
Let the naysayers throw barbs, I like this and I WILL bet the lone survivor in January. Good Luck.

This list is interesting to read about, however. You've already thrown us a bone about the huge comeback angle. I'll ask a question about it, then; What about the '85 Bears, I thought that they had a major league comeback against the Vikes. How big was that come back?

The Bears did not have a big time comeback against the Vikings that year.

Hey

I love this thread big lou. Has always loved the statistic view on games. Sadly i dont know enough on football, (since im from Denmark, and still very young). to find the 28 things you pick out the teams on. But i will defently follow this thread to the end. And bet my house on your winner.

(But i dont like 49'ers on the list)

And people please get to your mind, that this is not a normal system. Its just a fact based statistic system. And mostly they work just as good as anything else. (If you got the right statistic).

And Big lou, i do understand why you dont share your database with the rest of us. Mostly there 100 of hours put in those databases, that it is not fun to share for free to everyone...

Big lou .. Keep your head up.. You got my support..

Was I on dope in '85, or was there not a MNF game where McMahon was out and came in to throw 2 TD passes on his first 2 or 3 passes to get the Bears back into the game? To clarify, I was on dope, but I'm pretty sure that it happened.
