All due respect Pats Fan, you know nothing about the case . If Penn State and Joe "Harbored' a child rapist, how come there has been no trial yet. If this big cover up went on, how come no one will come forward to turn on the others to tell the truth and save themselves ? Its been almost 5 years.

Keep telling yourself all this..

They should replace it with one of a young boy bent over in front of Sandusky in the shower

With all due respect I've read the entire grand jury report, something you apparently have not done...
Sandusky is serving life, Curley, Shultz and Spanier are awaiting trial. Paterno would have been investigated had he lived.

Pick your head out of the sand it's been almost 5 years.

No way would've Joe Paterno been charged with anything. Unless something happened we don't know about yet.

nobody disputes Sandusky's guilt, and him being guilty doesn't make JoePa guilty of a crime

I'm not sure what the other 3 are charged with, although I speculate it may be perjury (committed to save their asses after the fact? caught up in the firestorm? certainly plausible)

JoePa was never charged with perjury, law enforcement has said he always was cooperative and honest with them. They said this when they filed perjury charges against others

I might be lacking specifics, but I think you're painting with a broad brush with this specific response

To sum it up, crimes were committed, that doesn't make JoePa guilty of committing a crime.

So if you're not convicted you are automatically have nothing to do with it? Hard to convict a dead guy. People didn't take a piss up there without Paterno knowing about it. He knew but his program was more important. He deserved to be fired and would be on trial if he didn't die.

They would have (or should have) taken a look at Paterno....eventually....that didn't happen because he died so quick. Who knows if we would have been charged with something.
What is clear are things went past his nose that he either took way too lightly, or didn't want to pursue more rigorously because of how it would have tarnished the University.

from one of the trustees
"The trustee also noted that he and many of his colleagues felt Paterno either "knew about [the abuse] and swept it under the rug, or he didn't ask enough questions."

All 3 things happened IMO...

The other 3 got the serious charges dropped, like perjury and conspiracy, but still are being charged with child endangerment.
The state wanted use the University attorney as a testifying witness against the 3 of them.....but I guess that isn't allowed there so the judge tossed the charges.

I bet she (the attorney) had some juicy details.

If Sandusky would have had his nuts cut off..... like he richly deserved.....

Then would anyone be as shook up concerning Joe's punishment? I think not!

Hey dummy.....I've been saying Paterno knew from the start. Not sure where you're coming up with this bullshit. But you think OJ is innocent so your stupidity is not surprising at all.

There isn't any solid proof (yet), but they say Sandusky was just a piece of a larger pedophile network that operated in Pennsylvania. This network was alleged to have included some very wealthy donors, politicians and police. This has been claimed by some of the victims, but discredited by the governors office. Strangely, some of the media even hinted at this when the scandal was beginning. It would help explain why Paterno and PSU covered for Sandusky repeatedly over the years. It would also explain how Sandusky was able to remain involved with PSU and several large charities as well. One can only hope that the real truth will come out sometime in the future. But other than a death bed confession, I think they've got this swept far under the rug to save a few careers...The whole thing gives me the creeps.

Gosooners there was a defensive guru that is an nfl head coach now that was part of a think tank of defensive minds and was a featured instructor at penn state linebacker camps early in his career.. When the scandal broke he offered one of his protégés as head coach of the nittny Lions some speculate this coach was embedded purposely

Sure, I guess they are still just gathering "evidence " against Curley Schultz, and Spanier . These grand cover ups spanning 40 years are tough to nail down

You're misleading the argument. You can't be convicted if you aren't even charged with a crime. Prosecuting attorneys found insufficient evidence to charge him with anything.

You can play attorney and say he deserved to be on trial but I'll take the word of a real life attorney who actually practices law over the opinion of some anonymous guy named Vitterd who thinks he's a lawyer on some random gambling forum.

Paterno knew, that guy knew everything that went on there. Penn State knew, why else pay out over $100 million?
