most think they know what there wife and kids are doing, then next thing you know your served divorce papers and your kids are in trouble.

Joe did nothing wrong at all
He did nothing wrong but stop winning enough, kind of like SOB (Same Old Bobby)!

Amazing looking back and reading this thread, and comments by people that had, and still have no facts

The fact that Joe wins are being restored from a " deal' is a joke .Penn State had the NCAA by the balls and let them off the hook. There was no cover up, and the NCAA has no case. They, and the BOT just want this to go away so they save face. What happened hear will go down in history of one of the greatest injustices of our lifetime. Put the fKN statue back up, and keep up the good fight for the truth.

For anyone interested in the truth, Il point you here http://www.framingpaterno.com/

Great interviews by John https://dc1.safesync.com/LMTlLPtT/JZ vid/JZ on Dino Costa Live Jan 16 2015.mp3?a=ZaPa1azyI-g

That statue should have been taken down and should stay down. Giving his wins back is not a vindication by any means. Paterno turned a blind eye to a child molestor and gave him the keys to the building even after he knew Sandusky was a child rapist.

Joepa ran that school like his own personal kingdom and he made every decision up there....he played God with his players and held them to a standard he didn't hold to himself. Joe paterno deserved to be fired and should have been sent to jail....had he lived.

Where to begin .........

Do facts matter to you at all, or do you just repeat what you hear on tv?

Let me start here,

1/. The "victim" in the "McQueary episode" (the most famous incident of alleged child molestation in American history) never testified and only ever said he wasn't abused.

2/.
Sandusky was somehow found not guilty on the McQueary charge which created the entire media firestorm.

3/.
There was an open WR job when the McQueary episode occurred and McQueary didn't get it until four years later. He is not claiming to have been part of a cover-up in his lawsuit against Penn State.

4/.
Sandusky prosecutor Frank Fina has said on national television that Joe Paterno was not involved in a cover-up (so the prosecution believes the "cover-up" didn't include the only witness and the most powerful person on campus) and Governor Tom Corbett has said he should not have been fired.

5/ And finally

Victim #2 (McQueary “Victim”):

  • He wrote letters to the editor and the attorney general defending Sandusky after news of the grand jury investigation broke.
  • Gave an interview to police before the arrest (where he felt they were trying to get him to lie), which ended with him saying “You will never get me to say anything bad about Jerry Sandusky.”
  • Gave statement to defense investigator on day Joe Paterno was fired saying that Mike McQueary was not telling the truth and he was not abused that night.
  • Was represented by same lawyer (Andrew Shubin) for whom his mother once worked, who represented him in a DUI before he became a “victim,” and who represented eight other “victims,” including Matt Sandusky.
  • Again, Never testified, partly because the prosecution didn’t like his story.
  • Despite numerous opportunities, neither he nor his lawyers have ever publicly contradicted the statement he gave about the night in question.
  • Quickly accepted a settlement with Penn State, which appears to be totally incompatible with claiming abuse in the incident for which Penn State would have by far the most culpability/financial vulnerability.
  • Has never given an interview after his settlement, has apparently not written a book, and has not responded to repeated efforts by me and some others to get him to set the record straight.

Why should he respond to you? Who are you?

I didn't read a post in this thread but this is crazy. Paterno made Happy Valley happy. How does a college get punished in a criminal child molestation case? Never made sense.

You gotta be kidding me? You get all your info from a proganda paterno website? All the shit you posted means nothing. The facts are that Joe knew Sandusky was a child molestor in 1998 and still let him roam free. I got news for ya...there were rumblings about Sandusky for years up there. Joe knew when someone pissed at that university...he knew it all...he could have stopped it as early as 98 and saved kids from being raped...instead he put the program above a pedophile. Joe should have fired in disgrace...which he was.

No way ak. Paterno knew sandusky was a child rapist and did nothing to stop it....in fact, he let sandusky have the keys to the buildings up there after knowing it. And joe was a dictator there....more powerful than anyone. He had the power to stop it and didn't...and because of that, many more kids were raped

Joe knew knothing about 1998

You know nothing about the case but your a card carrying member of the JOE MUST HAVE KNOWN club

I Get it

He never " let Jerry have the keys " to anything He didn't even like Jerry

Jerry was given access as part of his retirement package

FACT

Agreement was signed by Tim Curley and Gary Schultz along with Jerry Sandusky on June 29, 1999. The full agreement, Exhibit 3H, can be seen in the Report.
( Freeh Report ) https://bellalu0.wordpress.com/2012/07/13/q-a-who-gave-sandusky-office-space-and-emeritus-status/

And

In 1998, there was an investigation performed by the child welfare authorities charged with investigating allegations of child abuse and numerous law enforcement officials. After that investigation, the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare determined that the report of suspected abuse was unfounded, and the Centre Court District Attorney concluded that that criminal charges were not appropriate. As a result, neither Penn State nor anyone else could take any negative action against Jerry Sandusky, as to do so would have been inconsistent with obligations under the law. There is absolutely no evidence of a cover up or interference by Penn State, and the fact that the matter was investigated not by Penn State, but by the appropriate child welfare agencies and the District Attorney, dispels any such notion.

You're one of those "joe is god" guys. He did know about 98' and he knew sandusky was a child rapist. Those are the facts, no matter how you try to save him. He was a bully to the admin and faculty most of his career there. He was the guy..,not the president or AD...it was joe.

It's hard to admit when you're hero turns out to be a scumbag....but that's what joe was.

Are you for real.? I posted all those facts that you chose to ignore, because it doesn't fit your narrative

You told me he gave Jerry the keys to the campus, I proved you to be wrong

I showed you that with regard to the shower incedent, no crime was committed , and the " victim" even said so himself

You ignore the facts .

Thats ok,, that's why I'm pissed off at that this deal was cut, and people like you ( and I know there are others ) may never exonerate Joe and PSU

I would have much preferred to force a trial and let's see some evidence of any of these allegations being remotely true

This will all take more time, but the truth will come out in time .

You proved nothing. If joe wanted sandusky out...he woulda been out.

It's impossible to talk to paterno and penn st fans about this. The blind loyalty to paterno doesn't allow them to see who he really was. A cowardly nasty man who turned a blind eye to a child rapist. Keep hiding your head in the sand about sandusky raping a kid in the shower and joe knowing about it and still cowardly keeping it hidden. Disgraceful human being.
