However, with the public firmly in Miami's corner I can tell you based on my experience as a bookmaker for many, many years, you're probably best served waiting until even more puiblic money pours in on the Heat as game-time approaches before betting the Mavericks in the series, thus maximizing the price you're getting with them as a dog.
The Brooklyn Crew has a 25 dime selectdion on Miami in the FIRST HALF agannst Dallas tonight. Currently, as of 1 PM Eastern, the first-half price is Miami - 2 1/2 points at every sportsbook I've checked in Las Vegas and offshore.
