My Plays today at Keeneland...
Race 3...#4 Dad Are We Here 7-2 ML Returns to the dirt after running on turf all summer. His last race on dirt was here at Keeneland in the spring, a race he won at same distance against similar company. He was claimed from Doug Mathews in that race and reclaimed back by Mathews 2 races back.
Race 5...#7 Dogtown 8-1 ML Set a very face pace last time out when blinkers were added, gave way in the stretch but came back to get second. That was at a mile and now cuts back to 6 furlongs with a favorable outside post.
Race 8...#6 Salama 8-1 ML I am a sucker for the mystery horses out of Peru that make their first starts in USA and get Lasix for the first time. Especially the ones that have been winning and running well, which this one has with 5 wins, a second and 2 thirds from 8 starts. Shows 6 steady works here at Keeneland since arriving in August and leading rider Julien Leparoux picks up the mount.
Race 9...#7 Blond Me 8-1 ML Irish bred filly made her first start in USA last month running 2nd in Grade 2 Sands Point at Belmont. The 1st and 3rd place finishers(Sentiero Italia and Miss Temple City) from that race are also entered here. Second time Lasix.
Race 10...#6 Battleback John 12-1 ML Hasn't done much lately running his last 4 races on the turf. Returns to the dirt today where he has a second and 2 thirds from 5 starts earlier this year. Most in the field have been racing on turf and unproven on dirt, with the exception of #1A Kings Knight who will probably go off as favorite.
Good good luck to everyone today...
