Ok so the -1' means -1.5. I get it now, thank you very much Scott.
IS this a standard notation that i'm likely to see often ? I never came across this before, hence me being confused on the price quoted.
In any case, thank you for your time and your knowledge. I definitely have a good bit of crunching on the MLB numbers to get anywhere to a decent level.

Chaper, Scott pretty much covered it.

My bets are always for one (1) unit unless you see the bet preceded by 2x; 3x; or (once this year thusfar) 5x which indicate that I am upping the units by the amount specified.

I often play runlines, which means that my runline team has to win by two or more runs or I lose the bet. I note runlines as -1'.

Lastly, the lines I use are "Pinnacle" sportsbook lines at the time I post.

I got most of it correct i believe. Now i've seen some guys writting down handicap games with a flat number of runs e.g. Minnesota HA -1 +105.
This means that if Minnesota wins the game by exactly 1 run, the bet is a push.
Am i to understand you never bet such lines ? or do you write them down with just " -1 " instead of " -1' ".

It's the use of the ' after the 1 that's getting me slightly confused.

Anyway, time to hit the sack and be in shape for tomorrow's number crunch and form reading. So much to learn, so little time.

I scraped 10 bucks in MLB yesterday (-$463). I have to say I'm not really in love with the MLB Board tonight. But it is a fact that in the 3 games I'm playing the prices are way out of whack. PIT should be no more than -145 here, and both the Mets and Cards should be laying at least -160, which would keep me off both of them. The Braves have lost 8 straight at Home and the Reds 15 of 18 at Home. These Lines stink.

Football (5-8)

Last year I passed the Thursday opener and hit all 4 of my Plays on Sunday. I can't pass this year based upon ATS histories. Since 2007 in the Regular Season NE has played 23 Home Games vs Non AFC East Teams in which they were not laying at least 9 points. They went 18-4-1 ATS in those games. Meanwhile since 2006 when PIT travels to AFC sites outside their own Division they are 7-20 ATS regardless of the spread. NE -7 for me.

Had an ugly PUSH in the NFL last night. My how times change. Years ago with multiple outs, Books with opinions, and whores not charging -125 on and off the 7 I would have loved that last TD. Shocked PIT didn't go for 2 and easily walk into the EZ untouched just to fuck things up further. Still 5-8 in FB here whicch I'll sidestep tonight. I gained $135 in MLB despite another STL no show to creep back to -$328.

Getting deep into the NCAAF Card about now and just found my first "WTF???" Line, ranked Missouri laying only -10 to Ark State. Ark St just got demolished 55-6 at USC. Mizzou has won its last 10 Road Games by a combined 384-214, all 10 ATS cashes. Couple that with another factor - this is Missouri's best ATS Cover range. Since 2005 as a Favorite of -2.5 to -13 Mizzou is 25-9 ATS including 12-2 ATS on the Road. What $tinks here, besides the Line??? Clue me in please as I fel I'm about to get mugged!
